DC Showcase: Green Arrow

So I just saw this...and it left me thinking.
Why the hell didnt they release a full length Green Arrow film yet

I really enjoyed this. Neal McDonough was spot on as the voice of Ollie/GA. The personality was really cool. It basically was the DCAU version which I liked alot. The story was interesting and they should explore on expanding the whole protecting a diplomat in a live action GA movie. The arrow shootout was really cool. This was alot better than S/B:A. My only complaints were that Vertigo & Black Canary didnt really get to shine, but that leads to the length problem.

It's very good and does remind you of the DCAU GA of JLU! But Jonah Hex and The Spectre are great and much better, imo!

Totally agree. I loved every minute of it. Left me wanting more... I actually enjoyed it a little more than the film. It was great. I hope somewhere down the line they get the chance to make a Green Arrow animated film. t:

Green Arrow with the Hood and long hair looks way more awesome, IMO.

Yeah, after watching the Green Arrow short in the "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" DTV it looks like they could do things with the character. The only thing I would fear is the possibility that some people would call him a Batman ripoff and if they try to alter the character to avoid that, it might take away from. Maybe if the did more in the way of giving the character more awareness you never know if it might turn into another big franchise.

Yeah really. It'd be great to see a full animated movie for Green Arrow. Live action would be... I'd love to see a spinoff Green Arrow TV show, but that's me. t:

I think Green Arrow is one of those characters in comics that if someone gets a hold of it they can do some great stuff because he seems untapped.

I'd much prefer they put out a GA animated feature length than constantly hitting us with Batman/Superman ones. The animated feature lengths are the perfect vehicles to road test some of DC's less prominent characters to see if they have enough appeal to move up the consideration ranks of live action. I don't think it has hurt the hype of the GL movie one iota to have released an animated feature length beforehand.

I like Superman/Batman ones, don't get me wrong. But the constant shift in animation style between them is getting a little annoying. It's like, the voices are who they're supposed to be, but the animation is sometimes so varied you don't feel like the voices are coming from the right mouths (as it were).

Anyway - this short? Awesome

I'm not a big GA fan but I liked the short. I keep thinking if they did a live action movie, they should portray him as a Casino Royale Bond type. Like a modern high octane Errol Flynn type thing.

WoW that is cool, I didn't even catch the list of names on GA's PDA.

I got to be honest I also did enjoy the Green Arrow short more than the flim. and I also felt it ended with me wanting the short to be the full flim. DC needs to do an animated flim with Green Arrow, soon.

I hate people saying GA is a Batman rip off, other than being rich kids they are nothing alike.

I think Ollie changes which handedness he is in this - switches between left and right. The suit's pretty damn cool though innit.

That was me, thank you t: It is a great looking costume. IMO I can't stand the one that they keep on going back to with the hat and rope tie around his chest.
