After reading a lot of good stuff about the Lemire run (mostly from this thread) I bought the 2 volumes and I really enjoyed it. Then I decided to read the first three volumes of New 52 and I am halfway through the second volume now and I already regret buying it.
The art is rather boring and Oliver is such a jerk and the stories are not interesting at all.
Once volume 6 comes out I will read it and I hope the new guys will keep up the quality that came with Lemire and Sorrentino.

God it sucked. They take all of what happened and was built upon in Jeff Lemiere run and just scraped it. For one they made Oliver look more like his TV show self. He now says "This is my city" in his monologues. Emiko is off training even though she is almost as good as Oliver, has saved him multiple times, wanted to be with him since she was his little sister, and he took her on as his sidekick.

Naomi their tech expert is off the grid for reasons we weren't told again sloppy writing. Finally to top it all off we have Felicity Smoak to replace her even though she has said she was hired to kill him but we all know the direction this is heading.

I really enjoyed Andrea Sorrentino and Jeff Lemire's run on this series. It was definitely one of the best new 52 titles each month.

It's a shame that the supporting cast had to be scrapped and replaced by the TV show characters. That being said I'm intrigued by the return of Tommy Merlyn and think it will be interesting to find out what happened to him after issue #0.

2. Mia Dearden showed up (I assume to play the Thea role since we already have a long-lost sister who's already been written out)
3. Diggle and Felicity...being Diggle and Felicity (this can count as two, naturally)

5. And the Big Belly Burger reference because it ain't an episode of Arrow without Big Belly Burger

Same here. Exactly the same. I did not read good stuff from these threads only but I also heard a lot of good things. I bought the first volume and immediately after reading it I jumped to the second one and bought it. This run was excellent. Really excellent.
And it's now a huge let down to discover how mediocre this new serie is.
Meaning I stop buying it and I won't buy the TPB.
Too bad, Lemire/Sorentino arcs were so amazing, they were making the GA mythos bigger in such a clever way. Art was top notch too.

Your comment made me realize I was right to be carefull about the change of team. I think it's really so so sad/bad that they don't keep going the way Lemire was doing things. Just keep the damn writer with the damn penciller on the damn book.

The Lemire/Sorentino run is so good. Any time someone asks if they should read GA, I tell them just to go right to their run. The stuff before it is garbage.

Not digging the last couple issues either. Like someone said, they are turning it into the show. Look, I ****ing love the show. But they need to keep it and the books separate IMO.

That doesn't really sound so good :/ I agree with keeping them separate, I mean, Arrow already has the online comic going still right?

Maybe it works better in context, but Diggle's dialogue is terrible.

Such a shame Andrea Sorrentino isn't drawing Green Arrow anymore. His work on The New 52 Green Arrow was beautiful.

its almost criminal what the new team is doing! I dont know if i have ever experienced such a drop in quality, so fast with the switching of teams. Lemire gave them the PERFECT setup to do great things, and they used none of it.

Felicity literally shows up and just inserts her self into the book. I cant believe dc let it happen this way. They could have done this right, it seems like they did put much thought into this.
