To be fair, Canada has only finished at the top of the medal table in the Winter Olympics once in the past 20 years. And that one was in Canada, and fueled by nationalistic rage. And possibly traps sprung against enemy countries.

And they're not even letting NHL players play in the hockey tournament this year. So... I mean, what's the point? Cancel it.

In the 2014 Olympics, Putin was desperate for Russia to win gold in men's hockey, since it was in Sochi, and he's a big fan. They... didn't. They were eliminated by Finland in the quarterfinals, and finished in 5th. This year, Russia has an overwhelmingly high chance of winning gold, since there are no NHL players. The last I saw, the betting odds of them winning gold are actually 1/1.

...But even if they do win, the gold medal won't count for Russia since their Olympic committee was banned. It brings me great joy.

I just now saw the Tarantino thread.

You know how when you're in grade one or whatever, they give you a calculator that can only do basic arithmetic like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division? They only give you a basic one because that's all the math you know at that point. But as you get older, they give you a scientific calculator, that can do a whole bunch of magical ****. You can figure out complex problems and plug in elaborate formulas.

Some people here never got their scientific calculator. All they can do is 1+1=2.
