Nopt gonna lie, I'm almost as excited for this film as I am for Thor:TDW and that is saying ALOT.

I think I'm even more excited for this film than Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel.

I'm definitely most looking forward to GOTG and TDW over over IR3 and Cap 2. But I still have no idea what to think of the director and casting choices for GOTG really.

i like cosmic more than anything. so i'm pumped for this movie.

From what I hear Thor:TDW is gonna be alot more cosmic than the first film.

Kevin Feige said Thor:TDW will show more of Marvel's comsic side and Ray Stevenson even described it as vikings in space.

that's great to hear. i'm hoping phase 2 is really cosmic, meaning 90% in space on some alien worlds. for thor just traveling to the other realms is good enough for me. i just want to see lots of the universe. saw some in the avengers, a cool destroyed moon or planet or something.

Definately :word:

Feige said GOTG is gonna be 95% set in space, Thor:TDW's % isn't gonna be that much but he did mention them together.

Yeah, I don't really expect all of that space stuff for Thor anyway. Great to hear Feige's words on GOTG, though.

For Thor, I'm mostly interested in seeing more of the nine realms. Never expected much space stuff, but that'd be a bonus.

Don't forget Craig Kyle's words in Empire a couple of months ago...

“By bringing director Alan Taylor into the mix, with his expertise on The Sopranos, Mad Men and Game Of Thrones, we came up with a take that allows us to get more into the nooks and crannies of Asgard and its people. We spend more time on the ground with the commoners, as opposed to in the palace. It's a very complicated blend [of genres: high science fiction, gritty fantasy, and realism]. Thor is, until Guardians of the Galaxy hits, by far our most wild, fringe Marvel piece. But that's why it's the Marvel Universe and not Marvel Earth!”

But Feige said Thor: TDW along with GOTG is gonna conver alot of Marvel's cosmic side so I wouldn't write it off.

I think Feige is using the wrong word to describe Thor's world. It's not cosmic, it's mystic. Obviously we won't see Thor flying through space or going to different planets, that's not what the 9 realms are.

We've already had this discussion/argument over several threads in the past year or so, but yeah, it remains to be seen --- probably to be resolved in TDW --- whether or not Thor is strictly fantasy or science fiction. If it's "true" to the comics, it'll be magic and fantasy; but there's a good chance that they're shooting for this to be just space aliens who happen to look and act like Norse gods. Personally, I think the best bet is to go somewhere in-between.....maybe have the Asgardians exist in a place that's transdimensional, and maybe even outside of normal temporal physics (thus explaining why they age at a glacial rate, and why they look like they're still stuck in Earth's Dark Ages).

No need to be so technical, it's close enough to still be considered cosmic by most viewers.

Ray Stevenson also described Thor: TDW as vikings in space so I'm sure Marvel is considering it as cosmic.

I just took objection to you saying TDW would explore cosmic Marvel. I doubt we see a lot of what I'd consider cosmic Marvel in Thor.

It was just the way I phrased it, I didn't mean cosmic Marvel like GOTG or Captain Marvel I didn't mean it that literally.

we did see thor going to different planets in thor 1. i would like to see him fly in space though, but the closest we got was the teleporter to jotunheim and midgard. but yeah it won't be cosmic like gotg, just have cosmic elements, like space and planets.

I think this is basically what Feige meant.

So am I the only one who thinks this film will, in some way, tie in with the Spartax empire, and Peter's father J'son?

That seems to be the angle they're playing in the comics right now, and it seems like a pretty logical plotline for the first movie.

God I hope not. I hate the current daddy issues crap going on in the comics right now.

Doesn't Star Lord's mother get gunned down by an assassin right in front of him? There's your mommy issues right there.

I'm still annoyed at the line-up they chose for the movie :csad:

Really? What were you expecting?

Oh I don't know maybe something without a giant tree and a kung-fu squirrel? :oldrazz:

The Avengers re-worked their line-up to suit the movie so why couldn't GotG?
