Fantasy Guy Ritchie Directing Disney's Aladdin

There is a partial reason why Jafar only has Iago and is so insecure...though I hate more that they made him the same age as Jasmine/Aladdin more then him being attractive.

Maybe its because I'm a guy but Jafar's level of attractiveness wasnt the first thought that came to my mind.

As far as his attractiveness is concerned, evil doesnt only come in ugly forms. Jafar is a guy that likes to entice, confuse, enthrall...him being handsome seems fitting. I wouldnt be surprised if this Jafar is even charismatic and likeable on the surface. Jafar is essentially an megalomaniacal conman.

I'm a dude but I think it just looks weird having the hero in this type of story be the average looking one. Jasmine looks way out of his league.

He's a street rat. Jafar is a vizier and Jasmin is a Princess. Those two grew up and have lived in the height of luxury. Aladdin should look rougher around the edges rather than be a sleek pretty boy in Jasmin's league. And him not "being in her league" is one of the things that makes Jasmine falling for him even better.

Tho honestly I dont think he's bad looking or even less handsome than Jafar. Theres no large gap there as I see it. Nor does it really matter much unless we're being incredibly shallow and silly.

Yeah, I think Jasmine's hair is too close to her head on that EW cover and doesn't come out wide enough. It's lacking volume.

If that is how the original character was designed I would agree, but Tom Cruise was the inspiration for the design of Aladdin in the animated movie. I think the dude playing Jafar gives off a far more heroic vibe.

How many movies have a male hero with an out of his league female love interest? Most of them. That's the point of Aladdin. A princess that's out of his league cause he's a nobody. You're nitpicking nothing.

Everything looks bout how I expected though I wasn’t expecting the hair piece for Smith, just thought he’d be bald. Jafar being attractive isn’t ideal but I guess their going for a Gaston type reimagining.

Can't believe so many people are nitpicking this film already. I'm witholding judgement on the Genie until I see his CGI form, but Jasmine, Aladdin, Jafar, and Abu look fine so far.

i hope the crybabys are happy now or wait maybe he's not Blue Enough instead of Ocean Blue he is Dark Blue :awesome:

Genie looks stupid. But I HATE how Jaffar looks. Wahy to young and attractive. My anticipation for the film has gone form 8/10 to 6/10.

PS: But the production design and costumes are absolutely gorgeous.
