Guy Ritchie to direct Lobo

Sounds like they are moving on this if they are shooting a test in November and they have the character design virtually done, it will be certainly interesting to see the casting on this, I hope Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Adam Baldwin or Kevin Durand get the the gig for Lobo.

will be interesting to see how this film will go if it does happen. I agree i rather have an actor who is tall with some muscles with just makeup and all that to pull off the look. Then some super skinny dude in a muscle suit trying to pull off the look.

Love Clancy Brown and think the Kurgan would fit Lobo like a glove - only thing going againsy him is his age, but when you think about it, the situation could be exactly the same as with Ron Perlman as Hellboy.

Perlman was getting on too but once that muscle suit and make-up went on, well, he was perfect, wasnt he?

I'd defiately be behind Brown as the Main Man.

I think Gerard Butler (if he could shake off the accent) would be a great choice. He can buff up enough if need be and the tone of his voice is perfect + he is a decent enough actor.

When I saw him in the beauty and the beast spoof on Saturday Night Live, I thought of Lobo, don't ask why.

He would have been great circa Highlander, but I think hes a little out of shape now.

well if the film isnt going to be shooting to mid summer peroid, he could easily lose some weight. Plus if they go the hellboy style suit with some cgi enhancements in final look. He doesnt need to get in crazy shape.

it's kinda how I think Harold Raimis can never be as thin as he was when he did Ghostbusters 1 or 2. its not because I don't think he can, but more like he's just getting older.

With Clancy, I think they're just using him as a model for the character and they might try to pursue him but I can't see him getting the role.

totally who knows how casting will end up. Personally i do hope they got hellboy style makeup suit for lobo. Unless for example they got some huge tall guy say a stunt actor if they dont want to go with a better known actor. So then it would just be makeup.
