Guys & Dating... why do they lie?

So... some of you may know i've run into some bad luck with dating... maybe more so then others... but like 70% of guys i meet, and many i've viewed from both male and female friends, gay and strait whatever.... it seems like theres alot of guys who cheat and lie out there, yeah women do it too.. but i dunno just seems like guys are more prone to do it. sooo i ask why? is there like some wierd genetic thing guys have to be compelled to lie? sure alot of times it's also there dick doing the thinking.. but they also seem to do it when theres absolutely not a single reason to.
 
I dunno if it's even true or not.

But it sure is annoying when women sometimes talk about men in generalities making it seem like all men lie and cheat.

everyone does that.. and im a guy.. soooo obviously i dont think everyone does... just know alot do.. and just curious to what drives them to do it... the only generalization would be the thought of guys doing it more then girls.
 
lets see... heres the types of lies ive experienced..


-insecurity... lied to about who the person really is

-selfishness... been lied to so they can get or take what they want

-self esteem... been lied to in order to make themselves feel better

-joke... been lied to because the person seeks pain for entertainment

-hurt... been lied to because the guy was so afraid of hurting me not realizing he'd be hurting me worse

-addiction... been lied to for dumb reasons just because there so use to lying..


i've become very good at spotting liars these days... haha but then again i have a hard time trusting people now a days too

I've had a gay friend who would lie to me like there is no tomorrow about some things. Maybe it's an attribute that some people in the gay community tend to pick up. (You are talking about gay men I assume ? ) I've yelled at him many a time not to lie and stop letting his dick do the thinking.
But in all, I think saying that they all lie is bit of an overreaction.

Entering into a relationship implies so much these days. I mean one isn't supposed to even start dating unless it leads to marriage in the eyes of plenty of people.

People have different expectations and opinions of one another after a few dates and lies are told to ultimately protect the initial feelings of the weaker person.

If you went into something on a very casual basis and didn't make any ties to them after 3 or 4 dates and played it calm, then there would be no need to lie since there would be no pressure for the relationship to work/fail.

so yeah, the only one to blame is you.

If you want a scapegoat blame our current societies for making us too weak to deal with the fact that not everyone likes us and to also avoid any sort of emotional confrontations.

Why do guys lie? In this day and age I honestly think women lie a lot more.

Guys lie just as much as women do, but the reason why it seems like guys lie more is because of the way society is. Guys feel more of a need to lie. For centuries it's been the guy's duty to find a female. It's sort of like the male is a predator and the female is the prey. The male has to do whatever it takes to get his prey, and sometimes they feel lying is the best or easiest way. With the way society has portrayed things, it's much easier for a female to pick up a guy just by dressing and looking sexy, but this doesn't work the same for men because women are usually seeking more. For men, it is usually that they have to be both physically and emotionally strong for a women to be attracted to them. Therefore, if they're not, it's hard for them to get the girl, so they might choose to lie in order to get the girl. Women wouldn't have to lie in this area because physically and emotion strength isn't what's expected of them.

I'm not saying that the stereotype that men lie more is true, but with the way society and the media plays it, you can't help but think guys are nothing but lying pigs and the female is always the victim. Of course, this is true in some cases, but it's definitely not true all the time.
