MJ will die, I know it would kind of go against the comic flow, but Kristen Dunst doesn't want to be in Spiderman movies anymore, so that is why they brought along fresh faced Bryce Dallas Howard to become the new love interest in the series, so their can be more spiderman movies without Dunst

It's not about killing for me. It's about poignancy. Killing MJ would just achieve what X3 did- needless deaths not present in the comics for the sake of shock value. With Venom I can at least understand- the character has a sole purpose in life, and if he doesn't achieve it then perhaps death would be the only consolation. I just can't picture him resigning himself to being an anti-hero in future films, or just chasing Spidey around. For such a character it's all or nothing. Not so for MJ. I think Gwen is better than MJ in the books, but in the films she plays a pivotal role. Killing her would just make a permanent "Emo Peter". Gwen's the more logical choice, though I favor her character in the books. She's in the seductress role in this film, and adding motivation to Eddie Brock on such a profound level would be great.

I don't see MJ or Gwen dying in this film. MJ is still too important to Peter's character at this point, and it would take a very important aspect of his life away too soon. Plus Kirsten Dunst has already said she's willing to do more movies if Sam is directing, which basically admits that her character isn't dead.

As far as Gwen is concerned, this is the first movie she appears in, so it wouldn't be logical for her to die so soon. The audience won't have enough emotional attachment to her character, so her death wouldn't have a big reaction. It would be a waste. So I don't see Raimi killing her off so soon.

OK, I've wanted to see Gwen since the beginning. I think they got the right actress to play her and the whole Eddie/Peter triangle seems cool. But check this out: I found my copy of MARVELS yesterday and I read through it. For all of you here that've read it, you'll remember the one bit where Gwen describes the alien armada as being "beautiful, like being in a snow globe." I dunno, as soon as I read that, I got more excited about seeing Gwen than Venom or Sandman in 3. Anybody else agree with me here?
