The Dark Knight Rises Harley Quinn Manips

There is no way sarah jane dunn is Harley, she was only a minor actress in a daytime soap in the UK, there is no way she has good enuff range to play that role.

Kristen Bell would be my choice but i'm warming to Britney murphy after seeing the manips above!!!

People say things like that all the time. Hugh Jackman, for instance, was a nobody till he played Wolverine...

I think Harley as her Quinzel persona would be nice to see at teh end of TDK, although if she were herself in any future Batman movies, I think they'd have to re-do her slightly...

Not a fan of all these punky/dark incarnation of Harley but I like that Two Face down there quite a bit.

oops sorry forgot to mention I didn;t create that pic. Can't remember where I found it otherwise I'd credit it. I'm really not a fan of the dark gothic look for Harley either, but I do love the hat and glasess there

I'll see if I can dig up the Joker design from the same set. it was pretty out there

Just curious, why are some against a slightly darker Harley Quinn?

Wow a thread that finally doesn't have Angelina Jolie and Eva Green as suggestions? Is this a miracle? Or did I browse through this thread way too quickly.

Well in a Nolan Film you can expect Harley Quinn to be Dark, that is how Nolan is doing these films and their characters.

So that is why people have to make Darker versions of Harley cuz most likely thats how Nolan would do her if she was in the movies.

The Punk/Goth/Emo thing whatever you want to call it; is maybe a little off but only because I'm not quite sure what the Era of these films are yet.

You know what I mean? I don't know if its going to be a hybrid of the late 20's meets modern times.

Either way there is only so many ways to draw Harley without giving her, her original Halloween Jester costume. Which definitely wouldn't be used in the movie I just don't think Nolan would use that.

So by nature any realistic approach to Harley Quinns outfit is naturally going to look like its Goth/Punk/Emo or whatever.

Just can't fight it really the same could be said about the Joker and his look. I mean by modern times he would be considered very Punk.

It's all in perception and the sign of the times.

I actually do agree with most of what you said. If Harley ends up in a Nolan film, she probably will have a darker look. Doesn't mean I have to like it. However, I love this version of the Joker we're getting, and part of that is because he's easily recognizable to me as the Joker. I've just not seen any Harley manips that I'm wild about (not that they're the slightest bit indicative of what Harley might look like on screen). I'm sure the talented people here put a lot of time and hard work into them, they just don't do it for me. Personally I think quite a few of them look reminiscent of Amanda from the Saw series, and to me that's not Harley (although they both seem to be suffering from Stockholm syndrome in a way). If Nolan ever does bring Harley on screen though I'd be curious to see what route he takes.

I dont have the time to do a manip (at work), but this person I feel would be PERFECT to play the part of Harley... this pose should be enough evidence.

I give you, Sarah Chalke (Elliot on Scrubs)

That new Joker would rape and kill Harley, not necessarly in that order.

I just don't see her fit in with that new Joker, I could have pictured her with Jack though.

I think people just have to be a little more open minded with regards to Harley Quinn in the Nolan series, it's really hard to picture her looking and acting like her comic/animated counterpart without becoming an annoying, gimmicky character, that's one thing Nolan's series doesn't need. I too would like to see how Nolan could bring Harley to life but I wouldn't hold my breathe on her being the Harley that we all know.

I don't think she'll be showing up in this series. First of all, there's enough villians running around as it is: Scarecrow, Joker, the Mafia, oh and Harvey Dent. If Nolan wants to avoid the one of the mistakes of the last films he'll avoid overcrowding.

Secondly, the Harley that most people are familiar with (animated) is far too daffy to be in this film, ditto with the comics - and she can be a ruthless killer in the comics when she needs to be, but I don't think it'll be enough when it comes to this version of the Joker.

Thirdly, if Nolan were to make the necessary tweaks to the character and turn her into some kind of Patty Hearst of character, imo, that would be the tipping point of the film turning into uncomfortable viewing. Warnerbros are not going to spend the amount of money they have and not make it friendly to the average film going family. It'll be a dark film compared to other superhero films - just not that dark. They do want to make lots of money on this film.

That being said I'd love it if Dr Harleen Quinzell was mentioned in passing. I feel she does deserve a nod at the very least.

Just to clarify folks, I'm not necessarily saying that I want her ripped straight from the TAS or the comics, I just think that there's a happy middle ground that can be reached somewhere that I've yet to see (not that it matters at the moment, seeing how there's no reason to believe she'll make an appearance in this film).

I don't think overcrowding is a problem plus we're talking film 3 here, if she were included Harley most likely would have a very minor role along the lines of what Scarecrow was, if that's the case then that wouldn't be a problem.

Then it's simple, we adapt her to suit the tone of the series, easy fixed.

In what way uncomfortable? Because she wouldn't be the cooky, lovable Harley? Because she could be as insane as Joker? As for family friendly, that went out the door after film one, the tone is set, Dark Knight may be darker the Begins, the third film may even be darker.

I disagree. It's been rumored that another villain is coming along for the third film - probably Talia or Catwoman. With Joker and Two Face running they'll be too much going on already.

I'm talking about her personality. She's more than just her suit.

If Nolan keeps her origin , and taking into account the realistic tone of this film, I'm going to find it hard to swallow that a trained psychiatrist is going to fall head over heels with him. He's going to have to do something to her - eg Patty Hearst. I don't need to see that, they'll be a huge body count as is.

Also this film is not going to be an R. Warner Bros are not putting this kind of money into DKR as well as the third one, and miss out on all those wonderful merchandise sales from the kids. I said it'd be dark, but not dark enough that it's going to be unaccessible to the kiddies. Not with this amount of money on the line.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this then, I think there's room.

I was also referring to the personality as well as her look. Both things wouldn't fit the tone of the series. They would have to be changed.

Then we alter her origin to fit it. I agree with the psychiatrist bit 100%, depending on how film 2 goes what if instead she's a young naive nurse just starting at Arkham? She helps treat Joker, for some unknown reason she becomes infatuated and obsessed with him, sees him as the ultimate bad boy, helps him escape, helps him with some criminal activity, she gets a real thrill for it, she becomes Harley Quinn. What ever it is, Harley and/or her history would change.

I for one couldn't really care about the kids and hope it is darker than film one. If the kids want Batman, there's a cartoon on TV or there's Batman 89, let em watch that, this film series isn't targeted to the kids and I for one am glad. And I don't think WB have to worry about merchandise, stick a Batman logo on anything and kids will pester their parents for days until they buy it. :woot:

This is a manip thread yet I don't see any manips at the moment
