Im keeping one eyed open on this caricature storyline. But its good for laughing purposes. Holmes is a promising talent and a group of haters and trashy tabloids does not comprise the large fanbase that admires her.
If she has no crediblity then other director would not jump the chance to work with her and everywhere she goes on various cities and states the crowd loves her and she's busy signing autographs.
Her simply luncheon becomes a world premiere event makes me think its not so bad if she turns down Batman because some fanatics will again blame her for stealing Batman's thunder. But then I love for her to return and I rather see her K.I.A. than become Harley.
The Fedexfield stadium crowd are fired up to see Katie and Tom for the Redskin opener at the owner's box.

i hate this idea and i don't think she should be killed until robin comes in. I think this is how it should be done. She becomes DA after dent becomes two face. Robin comes years after this. Two face escapes in liek the 5 movie. Only a minor role. Batman is knocked out and he kidnaps Rachael and hangs her. Robin comes ot her aide. Like in the comics. Robin has dent flip a coin on to whether to hang rachael. He wins the flip. So two face drowns her instead. And robin is unable to save her because two face comes at him and beats him near to a pulp until bats comes and save him but not rachel. This could have the split up (but not in a gay way) batman tells him he can't be robin anymore. Robin feels that its because batman blames him for rachael's death. but really he just wangts to keep robin safe. wHat do you think?

Even if they make the decision to make Rachel Harlequin - I don't think Holmes can pull off being an effective Harlequin. She's not really that good an actress.

Some other actress should be Dr. Harleen Quinzel, break out the Joker, then become Harley Quinn.

the BAD part is katie holmes playing it. but otherwise its lovely and devestating to batman and ugh it gives me chills!!

the joker would be behind all the madness of rachel turning mad, Finch dying, etc etc...

i think then that would just be wonderful


im sure anything nolan & company are going to do will be absolutley amazing.

I'm inclined to agree. The Rachel Dawes character was firmly established as the most sane, level-headed, and strong-willed person in all of Batman Begins. And some of you people want her to just go crazy all of a sudden and fall in love with the Joker? People, forget the comics, forget whether or Holmes would be able to pull off Harley. The bottom line is, RACHEL WOULD NOT DO THAT! And believe me, it's not that I have any kind of attachment to Rachel Dawes, much less Katie Holmes. The point is this: IT WOULD BE STUPID!

And y'know, a lot of comic book characters haven't been original to comics. A good part of the Superman mythos come from radio dramas and soforth - Barbara Gordon Batgirl was created for the 60s TV show. Does that mean they should be able to turn Jimmy into Doomsday in the next Superman movie? Or make Barbara Gordon the daughter of travelling gypses? Of course not.

Haha, the minute her character started doing 'Roma' dances, ticket sales for the film would increase 3-fold.

The point is this: IT WOULD BE STUPID!

This basically covered it; some twists are very tantalizing for the imaginative complexity of it and others are shamelessly thrown in for their effect. This one would blatantly seem to follow the direction of the latter category, and it would serve no real purpose.

Nolan did say that 'things have to get worse before they get better,' so expect the sanity of Bruce to be tested in some pretty unique ways, and hopefully, Rachel Dawes will have a very small scene and disappear.
