The Dark Knight Harley Quinn

Is there any truth to this ? i doubt it but i think Harley can be adapted, has she ever been written more seriously in the comic or has she always been done as comedic sidekick loon ?

She was pretty serious in Mad Love the comic. She can be done serious - just tone down the camp - play in the homicidal insanity. The love for the Joker should be obvious though.

Ive never read that Trade but i agree,it's simply a case of tonal balance, don't lose the essence and characterization just present it in a slightly different light

The whole Harleen Quinzel to Harley Quinn [from the word harlequin of course] sounds completely ridiculous to me and a rly rly poor attempt into charactermaking... Don't get me wrong, I love the Harley Quinn nickname... but Harleen Quinzel? FFS!!! Why don't they make it more obvious next time :o

That said, her story though can fit extremely well in the third film and help form a kick-a** storyline. Unfortunately you can't have both. If you're gonna have the character you gotta have the name.

P.S: [not exactly as the all dressed up harlequin-like harley, rather a pretty cute yet slightly aloof Arkham intern (who the hell would take an internship in Arkham anyway? bah... who cares) who goes insane over her love with the sadist Joker who uses her in the worst possible ways as an extra tool to get his way. maybe just throw a touch of psychotic wanna-look-like-mistah-j make up too. oh... plz lose 'puddin']

P.S.2: *cough* Brittany Murphy for Quinn *cough*:woot:

Attack of the Show....were we not complaining how much this show sucks just last week when they reported on the Ledger pic. Im not gonna trust this, even though I'd like to see it.

WAIT ANTHONY MICHAEL HALL IT HARLEY!!!!!!!!! lol

1. I could agree with you about the name - but I am not going to take the effort. I really don't care that much one way or another.

2. You need the dress. The Joker looks like a clown. Harley Quinn looks like a jester. The Penguin looks like a penguin (short, fat, and tuxedoed). Now can there be a darker take on the jester outfit? Sure. But is Harley Quinn Harley Quinn if she does not have some sort of costume and face paint? I say nay.

3. Puddin is important. It shows how Harley Quinn continues to treat the Joker like an ideal guy - even as she helps him terrorize and murder. Its the irony of the situation that is the joke.

I wouldn't mind that at all at the end of TDK. Hell, I'd love it. Ledger's character could be relaying his past/childhood to her in what seems like a moment of sincerity, only to manifest a grin that makes it obvious he was lying his ass off after she bought it and left the room.

Save Harley for another movie.

Just focus on the Batman/Joker rivalry. Quinn would simply be a distraction at this point.

Well, we all know of one lovely lady who wants the role. And in return, I kinda want this lovely lady...

... to get the role.

So if this is somehow true, then BELL DAMMIT!

Good arguments :yay:

Though IMHO she's more of an aloof character... not rly main as the Joker or Two-Face. So I'd personally find it acceptable [and preferable] if she could be adapted to the so-called 'Nolan-verse'. Picture a cute [blonde?] psychology intern in Arkham... very clever yet very aloof. Something between Jody Foster in Contact and Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. Who then goes completely insane for loving the Joker and doing things she knows they're wrong... her appearance becomes that of a junkie rather than the smart stylish person she was before, her face being creepy over the numerous FAILED attempts to make up and look like Mistah J... who uses and more importantly abuses her [coz he's a psycopathic demented twisted freak]. Probably near the end the director could play it as she doesn't know what's right from wrong and though wanting to be the anti-hero... ends up being the villain. Sure I could eat up her looking like a jester... but not as well-dressed as Harley is at the comics and BTAS, if u get my point :woot:

I say stick to tight clothing, im thinking red and black striped sweater and tight jeans with with face paint and blonde bunches.

i would love to see harley in a movie. im sure they could make her hot as hell. haha

She can't be a main - she is a side kick. If she lasts more than a movie - I would love to see some Ivy/Harley action,

but she can't be on her own.

She should be manipulated by the Joker - it should not be love at first site. Harley's path towards love should be used to demonstrate Joker's powers as a manipulator - as well as perhaps giving us a pseudo-origin.

I like the idea of failed make up tries - I like it a lot. In fact I have no complaints about the rest, or really anything you said.

ZOOEY DAMNIT!:cmad:

Zooey's a babe, no doubt! She would be great in the role too, but I'm not gonna deny Kristen if she actually wants the role. I support it all the way. And she actually has the talent to merit her getting the part.

BELL DAMMIT!

Great news for me. I love the character.

I'm all for Kristen Bell as Harley, by the way.
