But what's that got to do with anything? What's that got to do with the conversation that you and I are having? If people out there are acting misinformed, then that's their problem. I know Unbroken is responsible for this game.1) There are many elsewhere acting like Avalanche is responsible for both games.
My point originally has been that it could have just been a DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, but I've now shifted into believing that it's sensible for Quidditch Champions to be a separate game, but not be separate canon-wise from Hogwarts Legacy.
Ah, okay. I think I misread one of your previous posts. I thought you said WB maximizing profits would have meant one game that included Quidditch, but you actually meant that them maximizing profits would be one game including Quidditch and a followup focusing solely on Quidditch.2) WB selling two games is maximizing their profits, I didn't say or meant to imply anything contrary to the sort. Simply that there is no evidence that WB told Avalanche - "alright, don't include quidditch in your game at all because we want to make a game that is solely focused around quidditch." To me, that's a far flung conspiracy theory that doesn't come across as grounded at all. Neither impacted each other.
Perhaps you have a point there, but I still feel like something like that would divide the fan base instead of maximize sales. What they're doing now is probably the best strategy - it's the lack of canonicity that I think is the mistake.
I'm fine with the teams not being forced together and for the games themselves being separate, but I don't like that they're not canon. And that's just the thing - the completely distinct art style pretty sums up the fact that the games aren't connected.3) While I'm not interesting in this game (nor the one in 2003), I like that the teams haven't been forced to work together - it allows both developers a lot more leeway and creative liberty to tell the game or film that they want to tell. Creatives tend to prefer independence than being hogtied to a committee as that usually hinders the final product.
4) Is Hogwarts Legacy even canon, on that matter? I always took it as basically an else worlds tale rather than something that was specifically intended to tie directly into the films, books, or upcoming show.
I don't know or particularly care if HL is canon to the whole Wizarding world, but I think QC should be canon to that.
