I don't know man, the people that went to the midnight viewing in my theater were screaming while crying. Like they were being tortured. It got pretty ridiculous and kinda ruined the moments.

:funny:

I want to see this.

If the final duel would have been like the book, we'd all be on here complaining that they should have changed it

I'm surprised you didn't expect that. Virtually any midnight showing for this movie is gonna have hardcore fans that dress up. And naturally start to react as they are seeing the final movie.

I have no problem with that. 3/4 of the people were dressed up. They let us into the theater at 930 for a midnight viewing. This whole group of Potter fanatics were playing songs they wrote about characters. It was fun. It's just when people are literally yelling like their cat is dying in front of them is too much. I expected crying but not like that. Hearing people yell out NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, when they know what's going to happen is a little too over dramatic.

But its probably the audience reaction as a whole. If a good number of them start acting that way than everybody else with reservations will just let go and join them. Then the entire place is doing it. Its almost like laughing, even if the movie is not funny; if enough people do it many others will just go along with it.

At my midnight showing, you could hear crying when
Harry dies and goes to King's Cross.

That's not surprising to me since Daniel Radcliffe gave such a strong performance with all of his emotions. It set you up properly with the Prince's Tale, saying goodbye to his best friends, and then using the resurrection stone. Facing Voldemort could've just been the last straw if you weren't already emotional.

I know they were going for the shock factor when Harry woke up in Hagrids arms but I think they could have gotten away with Voldemort & Harry exchanging a few words in front of everybody to help explain to the characters what just happened. Something like

Voldemort - I thought you were dead

Harry - I was but then an old friend helped me come back

Voldemort - & Voldemort would be smart enough to figure out that it was Dumbledore

Then Harry does his attack the snake & running thingy. I think Voldemort would have been shocked enough that they could have got away with a few words like that

Voldemort shots harry with the AK curse who falls dead.

Voldy: Really, that's it!? All I had to do was point the wand and yell a single curse?! If I knew it was that easy I would have done it when we met in the forest 7 years ago! Damn that was anti-climatic. But who cares, the world is mine. THE WORLD IS F'N MINE!

Cue Dumbledore the white who appears from a burst of light: I've come back to you now at the turn of the tide.

What a great film. A very satisfying conclusion. It was so damn good. I can't really find anything much wrong with the film. The epilogue was done very well too. Though saying, "Albus Severus Potter" is hard to say without it sounding bad. I was nearly in tears at the end. That music man. I just loved how they did it. And the last shot was pretty much how I pictured it in the book.

Everyone applauded at Molly's line and Nevill killing Nagini. Neville was badass. Loved his Indiana Jones moment.

I was very surprised how fast they got to Gringotts. But it really works. I as so pleased that most of the film takes its time at Hogwarts. I didn't expect them to devote that much time to it. I never thought it would be 80% of the film. But it works great. And thank God, The Prince's Tale was done justice. Rickman was awesome.

I heard a couple sniffles in the theater when they showed Fred and Lupis after the first wave of attacks...

Did anyone else find Voldemort's little laugh after he said [BLACKOUT]"Harry Potter is dead!"[/BLACKOUT] hilarious?

I laughed when he said to Bellatrix, "Don't help me!" :woot:

But I think one of my favorite scenes was the
King's Cross sequence. Just beautiful. I loved the complete and utter silence.Like that cut after Dumbledore says, "Let us walk." With them walking away from the camera. Amazing. The whiteness of everything with that proved to be very effective.

Yates really did an amazing job. As one film, this could be the best one. But the best are: POA, HBP and DH.

I mean when Hedwig's theme played during the epilogue I got very emotional. Just remembering back to the first film and the magic of it all. The same music played at the end of the first one. Then it went to the credits, it all floods back. And it's not all nostalgia. It makes sense and is very fitting to use Williams' score.

Wasn't the song played called Leaving Hogwarts? Your right it was at the end of the first film, with it coming full circle.

I also loved the King's Cross sequence. It was great but I slightly wish it were longer!

As I said before, part 1 and 2 must be watched together. They should not be rated as two separate films. Can't wait to see them both on blu-ray for over 4 and a half hours. Will put Return of the King's duration to shame.

The epilogue was just terrific. I was not a fan of it in the book as I didn't think it was written very well but on film it was done very well.

Just saw it. Amazing.

And there was plenty of open sobbing in my theater as well. My sister and I were pretty much gone for the last 45 minutes. What can I say? Alan Rickman destroyed me. :csad:

It was just beautifully done. Everyone just brought it for the end, and I thought it was great. Definitely going back to see that again.

Great movie. I love that they extended the Harry/Voldemart confrontation instead of what read like a one minute showdown in the book.

The word epic get thrown around a lot, but this movie deserves the description.

I haven't seen a blockbuster in recent memory where I felt so connected to the performances and direction. This film was art. This is coming from a guy who has not seen every Potter film, and hasn't read the books. It really was beautiful, though.

The flashback involving Severus was by far my favorite part.

I laughed when he said to Bellatrix, "Don't help me!" :woot:
The more I think about it, between those moments and hugging Draco, Voldemort could very well be the funniest character in the film. I don't really recall too many light moments besides some of the stuff that Neville and Seamus did. The biggest laugh for me besides Voldemorts "Yeh-Heh-Heh!" laugh was Seamus and Ron talking about Ginny. "It was Harry she wanted." "Shut up, Seamus."

Fiennes put up a great performances because he was able to be funny while being menacing.

And Ron's comment about Ginny wanting to see Harry first was hilarious too.

That was amazing. Truly wonderful. I wished they showed more of the Battle of Hogwarts but I'm sure that will go away when I watch it again. Although when Neville was on the bridge yelling at the Death Eaters I half expected him to say "You shall not pass!"
