^I believe a great number of the main HP cast has seen Dan on Broadway. At least the young-adult cast. Emma Watson saw him like a couple of months ago.

Is it still that play where he whips out his ahem...'wand'?

Nope this times he's dancing and singing like there's no tomorrow. I certainly salute his desire to expand his craft.

re-posting this... because everyone seemed to ignore it...

finally saw it today LOVED IT! pure epicness (especially when you watch 1 and 2 back to back)

my only criticisms would be that I felt some important deaths (especially like fred's) should have been shown... not glossed through. And I also wanted to see more of the teachers kick ass.. in the book didn't professor Trauny (i so know that's miss spelled), throw crystal balls at... I think Fenrir?

I loved seeing professor Sprout again though, and I know Oliver Wood has a cameo.. was he the one leading the pack of wizards on brooms in battle?, loved the small connections to all the past books too.. like the black forest spiders, the cornish pixies, etc..

Also... did the centaurs fight in the battle in the book? i was kind of surprised to not see them there helping fight for hogwarts.

Alan Rickman was at the first preview. I believe Dan had the same vocal coach Rickman used for Sweeney Todd.

A lot of the cast was in NY when the HP Exhibit opened at the Discovery Center, and I think a lot of them saw it then.

BTW, that HP Exhibit? Incredible. :wow:

Danoyse, how about that opening with the multiple screens followed by the wall opening with smoke to the Hogwarts Express train.

Incredible wasn't the word. All the clothes, props, etc. were incredible.

That was incredible! And they had the moving portraits in the hall as you walked in. And getting to sit in Hagrid's chair was fun too.

I couldn't believe how little kids' costumes were from the first movie. They were babies when these movies started. :wow:

I honestly don't know how to feel about this movie. I liked it, I know that, but it certainly isn't my favorite. It feel too much like a rushed final act of a much larger films. Which, considering the plan was always to have two films, it shouldn't. There really is no "battle of Hogwarts". They try and set up this scene similar to Gandalf and Pippin right before the Battle of Pelennor Fields, but it falls flat because we really don't spend time with anyone. Just Neville, who is suddenly thrust upon the audience as a bit of a main character.

Loved the hug. Loved Emma, Evanna, Kelly MacDonald, and HBC. Strangely ended up disliking Neville by the end of it. Was truly disturbed by the sight of[BLACKOUT] Snape holding Lily[/BLACKOUT].

I don't know man, the people that went to the midnight viewing in my theater were screaming while crying. Like they were being tortured. It got pretty ridiculous and kinda ruined the moments.

The only time I get mad at a theater is when people text. I hate it. I throw napkins or popcorn at their head if they ignore my third person views on texting.

It's there to stay until September so you have some time to go see it Parker lol.

Rushed?

I'm a bit baffled at people who think it's rushed.

The film? The opening is clunky as all get out. The bank robbery just sort of happens cliff notes style. The first 30 minutes or so just feels like we are glossing over a few bits so we can get to Hogwarts for this huge battle, and then, no real battle.

They really couldn't and another 15 minutes to give Tonks and few others a couple of lines? To make the battle feel like a battle? In a post-Helm's Deep world, it is kind of hard to just sort of gloss over the actual fighting bit.

Also, on a side note. Too many shots reminded me of the opening of Thor. So dark, I had trouble making out what exactly was going on.

Referring to the hug between Harry and Hermione? cause that's the only one I can think of. One of my favorite scenes in the movie; the emotion Emma Watson conveyed when she said that line made me so sad. As part of the minority camp of Harry/Hermione supporter this made me so happy to see. I'm so glad they gave Harry a goodbye scene with his two best friends in the movie, unlike the book.

The girl next to us was texting for most of the movie. My brother-in-law finally turned to her and said "Really?!?!" She didn't turn it off, she just hid the phone while she continued to text.

I had just recovered from Snape's flashback...and that scene destroyed me. When she just burst into tears.... :csad:

I text, but ONLY in an emergency. Like if my parents texted me with worry, I'd do it to relieve their worries.

I would never have a full on conversation during a movie. But I do know people that do it and it does annoy me.

Yes, one tear jerking scene to another. Its like the movie said if your not gonna cry for Snape were just gonna keep bombarding you until you do. Prince's tale, hermione's "I'll go with you", harry using resurrection stone...the sequences just would not let up.

Something I really liked is how Harry seemed to be by Hermione more than Ron. I've always liked the idea of Harry and Hermoine being best friends with Ron being not that far behind.

And another thing, its over.....and I feel empty. :(

I can't get over how intense it was. I've read the book twice, I knew what was coming...the last 45 minutes just slaughtered me.

And these kids have just grown into wonderful actors. It was hard to believe these were the same little kids from the first movie.

I'm confused are you saying that Ron is less of a friend to Harry and that Hermione is more important to him? Or am I reading it wrong?

Actually I was referring to Voldy's and Draco's "not-a-hug". :awesome:

But you are so right about the Harry/Hermione moment. She knows he knows she knows, and it breaks her heart.

I didn't really get all that emotional during this film. Never bought the Snape love and a lot of the other tear jerking moments seem to go by in a flash.
But, there were two moments that hit me. One, the Harry/Hermione hug. The second was the beginning of the forest scene. Harry's attempt to touch Lily broke my heart.
