The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

well, I'll reserve judgement until I see the film. and, after seeing it and seeing the story in full.....I'll like or except this plot point better.

It's just that since Ledger's death, I really haven't been keeping up-to-date with this movie. So, this news was really unexpected for me.....

you know filmakers do like to lie to their audience quite a bit, maybe nolan and crew are doing the same. i'm probably wrong but that would be a great twist

It has been stated numerous times that Harvey is the backbone of this film, Brock in SM3 was not. As unhappy as it makes me
that Harvey dies,
this is still "his" movie and he is not wasted. I have come to terms with this plot point and as saddening as it may be, it sounds like it works perfectly. I obviously will wait till I actually see the movie to judge how it works but from what I've been reading in reviews Harvey is not
a wasted character at all.

Brock/Venom was merely thrown into SM3 to make the fans happy. Harvey/Two-Face as stated before, is the backbone of the film, so I have faith as to how the
downfall and death will be addressed.

Yeah...read the links, and I'm still not convinced that anyone can confirm anything. I'll apologize to every member of this site if Harvey AND Two-Face are both (beyond a shadow of a bat, er... I mean doubt) dead by the end of this film. But let it be known that I expect the same in the event the opposite occurs. Cheers!
...They've SEEN the goddamn movie.

You know what? Think what you want. But you ARE wrong. Call me rude, ignorant, or whatever pleases you. But that's just the damn truth.

So in other words, you were there watching the movie with them to know, right? Sorry, but until I see something with my own eyes, or someone can give me something other than heresy, I can't will myself to get on board. I just hope you don't live in the shady end of town exhibiting that kind of naivete.

lmao....I cant believe how flat out stupid people are being over this...

that was to be expected considering it's such a surprise and an unconventional thing to do in such a so called superhero movie !!

And this just the beginning........there'll be months/years of posts filled with anger and frustration about this !!!

Let them continue being naive. Spider-Man 3, if nothing else, was a hard dose of reality for the same brand of fan. At least we're so near to release that the truth will hit this stream of denial like a ton of bricks.

I can't believe we have crazies with stupid conspiracy theories before the movie is even out.

Then let it....what's it to you if it does?

No. I am taking the word of credible movie reviewers who wouldn't post ******** for the sake of posting ********.

Key word here being "credible."

...is one way of looking at it. Another way would be to say you're fairly willing to believe something without having seen it yourself, which is fine...just not something I make a habit of doing.

We will all know everything soon enough.

YES!!!!!!!! yes we do! holy ****ing ****. [BLACKOUT]HE IS DEAD, just ****ing DEAD[/BLACKOUT]

OK. You may be right. Now, if I were Nolan, how do I bring this film to a close? Maybe Joker can just disappear. But you can't have both Harvey AND Joker disappear. Too many loose ends. What if they capture Harvey? Well, then you wonder if he gets better, or worse, or what happens to him. Still a loose end. So to end the film, you create a situation where Harvey at least appears to be definitely dead. That ends the story about Batman's hope to call it quits, in fact it wraps up any open-ended questions about Dent. Death is the ultimate answer.

How could they mistake someone else's body for Dent's? I grant it's sticky - with a DA they'd make damn sure it was really the right body they found, right? But we've all seen movies where they explain how they faked a dead body. Maybe Harvey switches his medical records with someone he throws off a building. He has a very good reason for faking his death - by this point everyone is after him, including The Batman. Hard for a guy like Two Face to hide.

Maybe Nolan leaves us a little clue about this no one has noticed yet. Certainly we'd have to wait until the next film is cast to know if Harvey is REALLY dead.

You may be right, he may be dead. I have no doubt Gordon and Batman are near a body and there is a funeral. No argument there. All I'm saying is, if you are Nolan you want the story to come to a conclusion (after 2 1/2 hours), so maybe you insert a plot device that ends it, but maybe you also plan on exploiting some trap door (or allowing the next director to do so) to bring Harvey into the next film.

I Couldnt Agree more

All I want to say, is that if Harvey indeed dies - as it seems to be the case - Nolan will break my heart, and I mean it, I know it will be beautifully done, make sense and it´ll make a great story, it´s just that I love the Harvey Dent character, I dunno why, i could never explain it, I like Harbey more so than Two-Face, when i saw Harvey screaming "NO !!" in the first trailer it gave me the goosebumps, so i know that when I see Harvey dying on screen, it´ll bring a tear to my eye...

And that, my friends - even when I pray for that not to happen - is what I call absolutely brilliant movie making.

you, my friend, are the one being naive. do you think a respected critic (like mori from aicn, who has a huge fan following) would risk his reputation just to fool you? after the film comes out it would have made a liar out of him and all the others who have confirmed the death. credibility out the window...forever.

i'm sorry you are in denial but don't stoop to insulting other posters who are just trying to show you the light.

And I can't believe how flat-out rude, ignorant and immature some people are being over this. I mean, what gives? Seriously?

No no....

Rude is having something confirmed ten times over and then having someone discard it just because it was something they didnt want to hear....

Ignorance is having people, with no reason to lie and are considered credible, who have...I dunno...WATCHED THE MOVIE, given you SPECIFIC details so that there is no question left...and then having someone ask even more stupid questions when the issue is done....

Immaturity is having people whine about it and comparing it to a film where the main character spends his time with an emo hgaircut and dancing like a john travolta reject.....

I mean...what gives?

Do you guys know that we actually HAVE a pic of [BLACKOUT]Dent's [/BLACKOUT]funeral ???????:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:
