The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

Hey there, this is my first post so I hope to make a good first impression. I've been looking at your forums since early yesterday because the
Two Face dies thing
got me really worried. However, I'm starting to believe its either just an elaborate hoax, or a rumor that got out of control. Here's the reasons why:

1) Nobody has been able to provide substantial proof for this ending. All I've heard is people say "But I read it in reviews from respectable sites that have no reason to lie!" That's all fine and dandy but... where? Any time someone asks for the source, the poster fails to give it. It's hard to believe something without proof. Even that picture that was posted several pages back: that could be anywhere in the movie (likely at the end, admittedly). There could be a Dent funeral before the scene where the cop thinks Dent's dead... but he's only "Half". If you disagree, show me proof, not spoiler text that RAVES that I'm wrong.

2) Conflicting reports. I've read so many different accounts on how it happens its insane.
Car crash, shot, and fell off a building? Which one is it folks? And that Two-Face goes after Gordon's family just doesn't ring true to me. Dent was Gordon's ally, he's after the mob not his friend. Also, one of the accounts that described the events claims that Batman kills the Joker... with a knife! But I digress, I don't believe a word of it.

Okay, so it's only two reasons, but still, if you can counter those points then please do. I don't mean to be critical, but there have been some people that are so adamant that
Harvey Dent/Two-Face dies
that they've become what seems to me to be rude. I ask for proof, not enlarged spoiler text.

Also, while Two-Face is (obviously) my favorite Batman villain (even after he's scarred, who would have thought?!) I am okay with his fate as long as it's done well. I'm just pointing out, if that makes sense. Again, forgive me if I come across as rude.

yah.....this news was surprising to me, too.

I was fully expecting that they would keep Two-Face as the main villain in the 3rd film....

but...who knows.....I'll withold judgement until I see the final film.......

Yeah, if there was a third film, I wanted Two-Face to be holding the villains torch in that one.

Maybe it's just the way Eckhart's voice is, but it sounded like it's like that in the "My Hero" clip.

Except there have been people repeatedly posting the sources, so you obviously haven't seen all the posts.

no. the truth is out there. find it yourself.:whatever:

Well there it is. That's all I asked for. However, none of those were in this thread, which is the one I've been watching for a while. It does kind of suck that they'd tell us all this before the movie came out. But whatever. *shrugs*

The next film would be a great opportunity for Nolan to bring Robin in, when Batman needs him the most. However, it would draw too many comparison's to that other Batman movie with Robin and Two-Face (BF), especially if the Riddler popped up.
Given that
Two-Face dies in TDK,
not a problem.

I clicked the spoiler by mistake and it said that two face dies.

How true is that if I may ask?

Hey M.O.M.D. there's spoiler text there for a reason. I actually didn't come into this thread to find that out about the movie (though I should have figured I would have found out about something I didn't want to know), and now the movie is slightly ruined for me. At least the emotional impact of that event. Now I'm just expecting badness.

The tag's there for a reason. Common sense dictates that when you're posting it without that tag...oh, forget it.

Next time think twice about coming into a SPOILER thread next time and not expecting to know anything new:cwink:

Or, you could use the spoiler tags
which isn't very difficult.

Two Face could be [blackout]killed, bagged, tagged and buried[/blackout] and still reappear in the third film, depending on the will of the director, whoever that might be. Audiences won't mind a small incision in logic if it allows patient Narrative to keep up her strength.

Hm, I don't think they would do that though, to be honest. Nolan is too realistic of a director (the Prestige notwithstanding) to just make such an extreme change of direction.

Honestly though, I'm still not totally convinced, mostly because I'm such a Two-Face fan I'll have to see it to believe it. There are still some inconsistencies that bug me. For example, that Duffer guy who's comments were linked to a few posts above, he claims that
The Joker drives the Batman to a point where he springs a knife from his glove and slits the clowns throat! Now that, to me, sounds like the Joker one, right there. Batman crossed his line, proved the Joker's point. He also said that Gordon shot Two-Face several times is how he died. This is a direct contradiction it seems, and this is all from Talkbacks on AICN.

Also,
a (convieniently deleted) review from Latino Review claims that the last we see of Two-Face is in a car wreck. Not falling from a building. I'm not too sure about this one since not only is it not there anymore, but I only heard about it secondhand. But it's from nice respectable people like yourselves on another forum.

And you're right M.O.M.D. this is what I get for going to a spoiler forum.

Doesn't that lack

If [BLACKOUT]Two Face really does die (which I fully believe he does based on the reviews and new info[/BLACKOUT], and if Nolan is back for the third film then [BLACKOUT]Two Face definitely won't be in it, unless there is a flashback.[/BLACKOUT]

i sincerly hope they dont die....jokers death was (imo) the worst part of BATMAN(89)....and why bring in twoface for 30 to 45 minutes only to kill him off?? however it plays out im sure i will love the film...i would just prefer they didn't

Also, don't listen to anything anyone says in the AICN talkbacks. Above, in the post about Duffer's review (http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=15140989&postcount=1577), it mentions a "early review" that has people mentioning
Two-Face's death
in the talkbacks. Well, here it is, look for "That 70s Venom" for the post and be warned, it has some "spoilers." http://www.aintitcool.com/talkback_display/37214#comment_2134209

There you have it:
Three major character die and Clayface is the villain in the next Batman movie. Yay for realism!
