The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

looks amazing

I think he looks absolutely wicked awesome. For all those who are unhappy, I mean come on it doesn't get any more Leob and Sale than that. It looks like it was ripped direct from the long halloween! Those new joker pics are gold as well.

You guys that are complaining are retarted it looks pretty ****ing real!

Just saw them. Very well done, I must confess. I don't think it's so disturbing that kids will start screaming, though. They've seen much worse in PG-13 flicks. I'd say it's on par with the gruesome factor of the LOTR orcs.

Even though Eckhart said it was acid in multiple interviews :csad:

I guess that whole casting side about Rossi in the courtroom was deleted then?

Actually, I think we just misinturpreted that scene.

There is nothing in there about acid. I know for a fact that this scene is in the movie. Rossi, the Judge, they are all in the cast, and I've spoken to a guy who plays one of Maroni's thugs, and he was in this scene, but he wouldn't say what happened in it.

What I am hearing now is that (possible major spoiler/twist)
Rossi pulls out some sort of gun on Dent, (possibly given to him by Wuertz?) but it missfires. This causes a mistrial (probably why Maroni is not kept in prison) and leads the Joker to take his own measures in getting rid of Dent.

In my opinion that would be a huge twist to people who haven't kept up with the spoilers. They will see this scene and think Dent is about to be scarred, but then he's not, and they may not even be aware that Dent becomes Two Face in the movie, so when it actually happens it will be more of a surprise.

Sounds good to me.

Oh my god. He's ****ing horrendous! I almost puked. And I have a pretty good stomach.

and someone said the riddler is in tdk is this true ???

Oldman said something about Riddler being in the next film.
And there was rumors that Mike Engel was going to be the Riddler, but as far as i know he isn't in it. Would love to be proven wrong though.

Yeah, but in The Lord of the Rings, we all knew "ok, these are the mutant bad guys, and we know they're bad cos they're ugly. Oh hey, that guys got a piercing through his eye" or something.
With Harvey Dent it'll be "ok, so there's this human character we love in this film. ok he's pretty cool and...wait a minute...HOLY **** half his FACE got ripped off!!!!!"
I think that's where the gross-out factor comes in. Seeing any human grievous bodily harm is horrible, and can be gut-wrenching...
Though I've chosen not to look at the pics, so who cares for my judgement? :P

About the new pics...

If you've seen the concept art then it really doesn't make sense not to view these new pics. The look is identical.

I'm really shocked this movie got a pg -13 rating . I guess you can get alot with a pg-13 rating these days .

I don't think Two Face is going to be able to show much expression through that charred grotesque. Which is a pity. The Harvey side of his face will look much more 'alive', making Harvey the dominant personality.

Damn, I was rooting for acid in that scene, I don't like the gun thing. :-(

My only worry for this movie (literally the ONLY one so plz don't childishly jump on me as if I'm dragging the movie into the mud) was the Two Face sfx job looking waaaay too CGI, and that we'd basically get something out of The Mummy walking round the last 1/2 hour of the movie to yank me big time out of it.

Hate to say it, but going on those few pics, poor quality or not, looks like that's close to being the case.

It's just not that convincing, and sure, I'll reserve judgement till I see it moving in the movie, but there's no way that's a perfect blend of cg and prosthetic. It's predominantly very obvious cgi.

So guess I've lowered expectations for Harv a little. Can't help feelin 100% good prosthetic work was the better way to go.

I mean if they can have practical sfx that look better in most cheap zombie movies with half their faces hanging off, and can do it for a cyborg, fifteen years ago, right?

Did we REALLY need the exposed skull and that cg Pirates eye ....? ): OTT, imo.

Regarding the eye, if you splashed with acid in your face, or exposed to serve burns or an explosion parts like lips, eyelids, ear, probably nose would be the first to go, so seeing as though that's what happens to Two-Face yeah i think the eye is necessary.

For all the realism in Nolan's flicks I am glad he went a bit overboard with the look, I guarentee you that it won't look too cgi'ish in the film. Nolan hates the stuff.

someone once had an avatar quoting regwec(?) I think, saying that with Nolans approach Two Face would be reduced to a beating half a brain hanging out the side of Harvey's head. He wasn't entirely wrong :funny:

Can someone tell me how exactly Two-Face gets scarred? I mean more info than only gasoline and fire. What does really happen?

Nope, quite the opposite actually. The you-know-what thing has been solidified.
