The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

i don't see Scarecrow or Black Mask being in this. if anything, Black Mask will have the amount of screentime Zsasz had in BB. and Sal Maroni wouldn't have to be that big of a character in TDK, since Two-Face won't show up until the third movie.

Gilda could always just be a "blink and you'll miss it" cameo like Gordon's wife and kid in BB.

Well, I think Nolan got to show least Scarecrow captured "we still haven't picked up Crane or the inmates he freed."

Why do people want his hair dyed? It's not really a big requirement.

not necessarily. he could just have one of the characters, probably Dent or Dawes say that some of the characters had been captured. it'd take less time away from the plot than actually having to show Scarecrow in a gratuitous cameo that has no purpose.

because people want the character to look exactly like the comic counterparts. duh.

even though Pfeiffer as Kyle and Basinger as Vale both being blonde while their characters had black and red hair didn't affect the movies at all. neither did Jean's constantly changing red colored hair in the X-Men movies. or Franco and Dafoe having brunette hair instead of auburn in the Spidey films. or Molina's dark brown almost black instead of brown.

That's so dandy...

also...both movie Alfred's have white hair and no mustache.

and Lucius is slightly older than he is in the comics and animated series.

there's really no point in dying his hair. it's not important to the character. it's pretty rare that something like that is. the ones that come to mind have it in a strange color...like Polaris, Storm, Psylocke, Joker, Ivy (when she has the vine hair), Rogue, Livewire, and so on.

Also, if he kept his blonde hair, it'd make him look more "Apollo-ish".

A quote from Mr. Eckhart himself:

Eckhart Confirms Dent Role
Author: Jett
Saturday, February 17, 2007 - 5:00 PM CENTRAL TIME: Aaron Eckhart himself has confirmed that he is indeed Harvey Dent, allegedly:

“I've been reading the site for a long time and have wanted to write something, but I've never been lucky enough to actually have any news. As you might have guessed, I'm now writing because I do.
If you're looking for confirmation, Mr. Eckhart recently was the special guest at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for region eight. Almost at the very beginning of his presentation, he specifically stated that he was cast as ‘Harvey Dent/Two-Face.’ He has a ‘strong sense of where he wants to go’ with the character, he says, and he doesn't really see himself as a villain. He wants the audience to understand why it is that he does what he does.
It sounded great to me. I made sure to shoot this off to you at BOF the first chance I got, since it's obviously relevant. Anyway, keep up the great work on the site!”
Thanks to "The Dark Knight Also Acts" for the info...

The quotes sound great, if they´re true. Anyway, the HP and Variety reports pretty much made his casting official. "In final talks" is Hollywood slang for "he´s got the part, they´re just sorting out contract details, schedule, etc."

*nods* Exactly.

Personally, I loved the quote. It sounds like he may have already done some homework (possibly read TLH?)

Gillian Anderson would be killer as Gilda Dent
Scully? I see her more as Sarah Essen but it would be good casting. She's a good actress.
Having Gilda Dent will be too much since they main characaters

Batman/Bruce
Alfred
Lt Gordon
Lucius Fox
The Joker
DA Harvey Dent
A.DA Rachel Dawes
Black Mask (maybe)
Sal Maroni
Maybe Scarecrow??
We need some more females in TDK.

i would imagine he was given those to read.. along with hunderds of other comics.

yes, we do need some females in Gotham. seems mostly like a sausage fest....hrmm....:oldrazz:

anyway, Sarah Essen...never thought of her for that. i always pictured her as Gilda. i don't know why.

I could actually see Maggie Gyllenhall as Gilda, but I guess that won't be happening now.

Well they're both short and have similar hairstyles. Maybe thats it.

Ok, let's add:

Selina Kyle
Harley Quinn
Gilda Dent

Rachel was added first list.

Quinn (working in Arkham?) and Dent in small supporting roles i imagine. Kyle might be a cameo i think. We've also got Renee Montoya as well too.

I haven't made a thread in a long time and there are lot topic I wanted make but that's posted by other users.

Aoran Eckhart cast as Dent/Two-Face

Good choice or bad choice?

Middle of the road choice. Neither good nor bad. Indifferent.

I know i wanted Phoenix more than anyone, as i think he is the best choice and a FAR better one than Eckhart.

However, i will back Eckhart and reserve judgement until i see the film. Which 2 yrs away :csad:

I agree Phoenix would've been great as DA Harvey Dent, Nolan's choice isn't a bad at all and I'm glad it wan't Jamie Foxx or Edward Norton because I want Norton for The Riddler.

The indifference for such a major character (second of batmans villains only to the Joker) is a sign people dont want eckhart as dent his acting to me is the same indifferent neither good nor bad he doesnt have the x factor he is in a word boring for such a dynamic intense character such as dent?TWOFACE this worrys me greatly.

I like the quote that eckhart sees dent/twoface not as a villain i want to be sympathetic to his condition and angry at his acts of violene in equal measures its an amazing balancing act, probably more so then the joker performance but i still cant see eckhart pulling it off acting wise.

Like I said before, the director's choice isn't bad at all I would've cast Scheiber or Phoenix. Maybe you will change your opinion once yu seen the flim.
