On the positive side, the bust of Ms. Marvel is rather impressive. And so is the statue! (wink wink)

Probably because people will buy it? Not everybody dislikes the suit, you know.

And I wish there was a better picture of the bust, that's a pretty crappy picture to really get a good look at it.

I've changed my mind about the new costume. Intinially I didn't like it. But now... I think i'll actually miss it when it goes.

Thinking about it, in continuity Spidey's been wearing the same cloth costume for ten years. It's time for an upgrade of some sorts. And how cool an upgrade is it to have a bullet proof, stealth-mode, gliding costume. And I just love the way the "legs" make him look even more spidery!

I think maybe that if the colour scheme was more traditional (red & blue) people wouldn't have such a problem with it... maybe.

I think that the Ben Reilly as Spider-Man costume was a cool re-think of the Spider-man costume. The Iron Spider-Man costume looks ok but it doesn't really fit.

I like the night vision but that's the only new power I like, also he can use it more than the others being that he works at night lots. Sure he's got the light of the city but it should still be dark unless he's in Times Square.

Why do we need ANY version of it? Making merchandise of it makes it harder to bury the past when Marvel comes to their senses.

Someone in another thread said the thing they liked most about the black costume was the memories it represented; some great writing & awesome storytelling took place when Spidey was in that suit. I think the opposite applies to the sidekick suit. Years from now when we think back on the look, it won't matter how ugly it is. What we'll hate most is the horrendous moves that were made-both those that led up to its inception & after he put the monstrosity on.

I hope I can contact you 3 years from now, to see if you still feel that way.

Three years?? I was under the impression that Spidey would revert back to the ol' red and blues by the end of Civil War

I'm giving you time to let the novelty of it truly wear off.

Ah... But then again. I loved the black costume when it debuted. And I still love it now :)

The black suit didn't make him look like a sidekick. Nor was it tied into the worst plot decision ever made.

It’s Stupid Spider-Man isn’t even Spider-Man anymore he's Iron-Man's Side Kick. Seriously I don't know why he insists on Keeping his head between Tony's Legs.

they've made lapel pins of every other[excuse the expression ]version of spideys suit have they made one of the sidekick suit yet?:spidey:

I was starting to hate the idea of an adult Spider-man being a middle weight in the Marvel Universe. It was fine when he was in H.S. or college, it's time he became a little more formidable. I know many comic fans fear change, (which I'm sure is tied into why many 30 year+ fanboys still live with mommy and daddy), but change has happened, Spidey isn't a rookie anymore, he's a man and it's past time he was allowed to step up in the Marvel ranks.

we don't hate change... we hate STUPID change... but Spidey's becoming a craptacular teenage sidekick, not stepping up... even with his power "upgrades" and a "Mecha power suit" he's become a wimp... and his intelligence is eroding faster than an icecream in the desert.

Wolverine wasn't bitten by a radioactive wolverine and Spider-Woman's webs are mental, so she can make them come out of wherever she wants.
Wasn't spider-man given the spinerettes though? Its clear it wasn't part of the original bite.
Spider-Woman's powers were from spider genes though right? When she was genetically altered?? How does that give her mental web powers?

Who the hell had nothing better to spend their money on than a statue of what is probably the worst Spidey-suit EVER?!

Ugh...the fact this is even being made is shameful.:down

Shameful to who? Nobody is holding a gun to your head telling you that you have to look at it all the time or buy it.

no. current spider-woman according to wiki does have powers that were from a spider:
"At a young age, Jessica Miriam Drew, daughter of Jonathan and Miriam, was lethally poisoned by radiation. In an attempt to save her life, her father injected her with an experimental serum based on irradiated spiders' blood."
and yet she has bio-electric stinger blasts (and can now fly).

When do spiders have bio-electric blasts?? anyway my point was that there's worse-explained, far more convenient powers that have poor links to spiders than the spinerettes or real stingers.

Having had some time to think about it, & having seen it in a number of comics, I can honestly say I have changed my mind about the new suit.

I hate it more than I ever thought possible.
Not just because it's so damn ugly & has ridiculous features, but it will now & forever represent the worst era in Spider-Man's history. Every time I see it I'll be reminded of the biggest mistake Marvel ever made.
