I can't speak for Peter Dinklage, i saw the quote on Game of Thrones wikia, it had no citation and this is what google gave me:

Maybe he meant a long fake beard. If it's his own facial hair, I don't think he'd mind so much.

She's just as delusional as Sansa when it comes to being a ruler. She can't liberate everyone.

She is not delusional...well maybe she is, but that will come up if and when she ever reaches Westeros and really thinks she can burn all of the families who betrayed the Mad King. ;)

Honestly [blackout]She has made fewer mistakes than Joffrey, Robb or Stannis up to ADWD and yes, her desire to do the right thing is a bit naive. But she is learning on the job and I can promise will either come back as a better Queen or as a tyrant in the next book. Either it should be fun to watch.[/blackout]

Nope, TV Renly never did that. He was prepared to kill Stannis. You dismiss Renly being a traitor, but that's kind of a big deal. He was arrogant and thought the biggest army would get him the Throne. Stannis using a shadow assassin is no different than Dany using her dragons.

He does say "destroy my brother's army." But in the book:

Don't kill Stannis.

In the show:

After I win, I'll team with Robb Stark (along with my men from Storm End and the Tyrells) in killing Joffrey.

Why would people ever be on his side? ;)

Also, I never understand this traitor business. Robert was a traitor; Ned was a traitor; Stannis WAS a traitor during Robert's Rebellion. Power resides where people believes it resides. The truth is very few will ever believe it resides in Stannis, because it is clear all his power lies in the Red Witch. One day, he will lose his usefulness to her. On that day, he leaves the story.

DACrowe I like you. But I just cannot get behind your views on Dany, Stannis or Renly. Especially not when you are calling Ned a traitor, even as the rebellion was legit considering the Mad King's madness. There are laws of the land, and the king can't just set people on fire because he is in the mood.

That trailer! The wait is going to be so long ... :(

Wasn't the rebellion because the prince took Robert's love though?

I wouldn't say she's made fewer mistakes, only that she's had to pay less for them.

Renly is incredibly inconsistent between the show and book, almost to the point of being two separate characters who happen to share the same name. In the book, he didn't want Stannis dead but had no interest in helping Robb and was going to make Catelyn watch his army defeat Stannis to prove the point.

They're only on his side because the Tyrells used him as a power grab and they had the largest army to back him.

Also, I never understand this traitor business. Robert was a traitor; Ned was a traitor; Stannis WAS a traitor during Robert's Rebellion. Power resides where people believes it resides. The circumstances of Robert's Rebellion and the War of the Five Kings are completely different. Rhaegar "kidnapped" Lyanna. Brandon Stark went to King's Landing and threatened to kill Rhaegar to get Lyanna back, he was arrested. Rickard Stark went to King's Landing to get him and entered a Trial by Combat, where he was burned by King Aerys ("fire is the champion of House Targaryen") and Brandon choked himself to death while watching. Aerys then commanded Jon Arryn to turn over Robert and Ned to be executed for no legitimate reason (especially Robert). He said no and the Baratheons, Arryns, Starks, and Tullys (after marriages) declared war. Aerys was already becoming increasingly unpopular, even Rhaegar saw this and knew there needed to be changes.

With the War of the Five Kings, Robert dies and 3 men claim the throne. Of those 3, Renly has the weakest claim (i.e. none). He does it simply because he knows he's more popular than Stannis and can have his boyfriend's father support him. He thinks that's enough to win the throne and be a good king, when he's just naive and, in reality, a pawn for the Tyrells.

Great trailer. Can't wait for this new season to start.

Maybe he meant a long fake beard. If it's his own facial hair, I don't think he'd mind so much.

Yeah, i guess it depends how much of a beard he'd have to grow. He gets a pretty full beard on the books, not fantasy dwarf to the hips lenght, but you know, something like you've seen George Clooney and Ben Affleck sporting.

She is delusional and it's already come up.

Exactly. Dany messes up and is almost never forced to face it. Those around her usually feed her delusion, mainly because they want to sleep with her. All she gets is praise and told about how amazing and pretty she is by her inner circle. They are basically the equivalent of celebrity leeches.

TV Ser Barristan hasn't had enough screen time to be developed much. The downside of being a celibate character.

Oh yeah that's right!! I always thought they were but it's been so long that I thought it was just a crazy theory I had. Don't they mention her name too? Or was that just in the book? (I've read the first one)

Is Thoros of Myr/Beric Dondarion on the cast list for this season? Unless their stuff is "secret" for now.

Id suspect theyd keep all that stuff under wraps... like the RW... we got ONE glimpse of it ( that pic of cat looking worried) and i dont even know if that leaked or was officially released ?

I like the way they're showing Thorne actually having a leadership role of some kind at the Wall, especially since it makes a lot of sense to give the Drill Sergeant Nasty character a time to actually prove his cred, and considering his part in the book was limited to being the political balls behind Janos Slynt, it's good to see the, logically expand a part of a character's role in a story.

And you gotta love the Tyrion line about there being no justice in King's Landing, especially since:

The latter bit of Storm of Swords basically amounts to karmic justice coming down to bite the Lannisters in the ass hard, especially considering the Tyrells basically pull a Lannister on the Lannisters what with the kingslaying, arranged marriage that puts a dangerous woman by a new king while the old regime fragments and dies.

Ps: If you haven't read the book, you really shouldn't hit that second spoiler.

Seriously.

We all know Tommen is a lucky SOB. Maybe him and all of his kittens will remain on the Iron Throne at the end With hot little Margery next to him.

:woot:

Okay, on a non-spoilery note, I love the way Oberyn Martel has those three character moments in the trailer, what with the hand over the candle to prove he's a classy and probably obsessed badass, the balls and agility to tackle the Mountain in single combat, and especially the little line about Lannisters not being alone in the whole retribution/repayment thing, especially considering the history specials have already let us know that the Lannisters owe a rather extensive debt to the Martells.

Varys and Oberyn are seen talking together in the trailer. Interesting prospect there.

I'm glad the trailer confirmed that there will be time spent with Stannis on his way up to the North. I honestly hope Davos gives him the speech about a kings duty, on the way up, just so they can correct the complete butchering of the "Paper Shield" scene.
