He did? That's nice then, i like it when they show consequences to what seems like an happy ending. Doesn't Daenerys keeps the places she conquers as part of her "kingdom"?

Well, it's a work of fiction, a lot of thing like this should happen in many works of fiction, do the books really show that the cities end up like that? The rebellion originally left a huge hole in the worlds rules by the empire.

It's not "shown" but it's definitely mentioned.

I like the way they're showing Thorne actually having a leadership role of some kind at the Wall, especially since it makes a lot of sense to give the Drill Sergeant Nasty character a time to actually prove his cred, and considering his part in the book was limited to being the political balls behind Janos Slynt, it's good to see the, logically expand a part of a character's role in a story.

Agreed. I liked Thorne better in the tv than in the books. Especially that added scene where he talked about being north of the wall to Jon and Sam. That scene was fantastic IMO.

Having been spoiled already on what will (probably) be the two major plot points of this upcoming season....

Joffrey's death and Tyrion killing Tywin

.....can book readers venture a guess as to....

if these will most likely happen in the "event" episode (number #9)..or if they could even happen in the first half of the season. In addition, do I have more surprises in store, or did the interwebs screw me over with early spoilers?

The first thing takes place in the first half of the season. Ive heard episode 2 or 3.

The second thing will happen at the end of the season. Most likely episode 10. Episode 9 is taking place entirely at [blackout]the Wall[/blackout]

GRRM wrote the second episode of this season. That is all you need to know.

I really hope that if they incorporate another song from the books for this season that it's "Last of the Giants." that was such a beautiful, sad song.

If the opening voiceover is Euron, I'd bet the final shot of episode 10 will be
a sweeping view of the Iron Fleet heading for Slaver's Bay.

I think with this season it'll actually be a lot tighter than the previous 2, sure some material from ADWD will be used, but I doubt we'll get that far. I'd say Theon and Dany's scenes will be using the first two or three chapters of their ADWD, but mostly keep everything else confined to the ASOS stuff. Bran...who knows there.

At the same time I think they're adding some original stuff in. I think we'll probably get more scenes between Roose and Ramsay this season, as well as the introduction to Fat Walda. Locke going to Wall is another one, as is Rast becoming the new Craster. Some seriously weird stuff going on there.

Dany, Theon, and Bran will go at least a few chapter into ADWD. They kinda of have to.

Well, Sigur Ros is supposed to appear on the show this season. It may be a safe bet to say that they'll be performing a song too.

Rest assured that the events leading up to your second spoiler are almost better than that actual moment.
That moment is actually really heartbreaking.

Its already been confirmed that Bran [blackout] meets the three eyed raven beyond the wall this season.[/blackout]. Thats well into ADWD. Like the writers said last year, from this point going forward they will be adapting the rest of the series into 3 or 4 seasons not basing a season off any one particular book. So they are gonna be grabbing stuff from ASOS, AFFC, and ADWD.

Id say its also a safe bet to say that the tv series is going to be moving on whether book 6&7 are out or not. The writers know how its supposed to end and the show is moving much faster than Martin can apparently focus and write. The show was planned to be 80 hours so that means the final book would need to be out before 2018 and I just dont see that happening.

It's also been confirmed by some cast members that they're adding to Bran's storyline as well. To the point where Rast's group encounter him. Rumor has it that Coldhands and Leaf appear and in Episode 9, which would mean that they're altering it a bit to get them more involved with that big conflict which is quite different from what happens with in the book.

Consider this, Bran meets You-know-Who but at the same time Jon's storyline is much further back, he's still fighting the Wildlings as of Episode 9. So obviously because one character is progressed doesn't mean that all the others will have as well.

Likewise, almost none of Dany's court has been cast aside from Hizdahr, so it can't be that far either. None of the Manderlys have been cast so that means none of Davos' stuff from ADWD would be used either (if anything they're going back and using material from his chapters they ignored in season 3 like the Florent involvements)

And Theon, well...judging by his appearance in the trailer his Reekification hasn't fully happened yet either.

They haven't cast any of the Greyjoys or Martells beyond Oberyn either, so that's a lot of stuff they're not using either.

I honestly think they're only using some of the opening chapters from ADWD to helps few introduce new concepts, it seems like the majority of this season will be ASOS.

That would be fairly amazing, love Sigur Ros. :awesome:

Something else that's interesting
is that Brienne and Sansa are both in King's Landing right now. Perhaps Brienne's plot will be altered so that Jaime tasks her with hunting down the rest of the Bloody Mummers, during which she'd be taken to you know who. Supposedly Coldhands will rescue Bran from Rast.

Good points and Id bet you're right on all. Dany's story in ADWD whenever it shows up in the show it needs some tweaking imo. It was tedious as hell and can be improved. Same with Brienne's mission in AFFC. That storyline bored the hell out of me. So im hoping in the show we get less of these stories from the books and more of the writer's versions.

I know purists fuss, but i like the tweaks and changes. It gives the show its own identity and keeps me coming back to both the books and the show.

The popular opinion with Dany is that they are going to set the exile of Jorah back, while progressing the story to the point of the bones of the little girl.

I also agree with the idea that that shot of Theon is a shot Moat Cailin. I am thinking Reek is going to be more a mental thing then a physical thing. This will allow for Theon to be dressed up for the Moat Cailin scene.

I have had little trouble with the tweaks outside of how horribly they have written Jon the last two seasons. I know filming in Iceland is hard, but that is no excuse for how they have treated arguably the most important character in the series. Especially considering they got him so well in the first season.

I think Theon's journey to Reek isn't finished yet. Since we know that they're adding stuff for Ramsay, it wouldn't surprise me if they alter it so that the Moat Cailin scenes are supposed to give him a false sense of security that the worst is behind him. Then even more mutilation comes along :awesome:

Going from the trailer, it looks like one of the girls who was in the room right before Theon was castrated has a part to play in this as well.

I know she's probably torturing him and all, but she's real purty. :hubba

Thanks to you and Marvolo for the insight. I even cringed on second thought of having posted those spoilers, even tagged as they are. Still looking forward to this season, even knowing some of what will transpire, since the implications and circumstances surrounding said events are ripe with intrigue, to say the least. :word:

I'll put it this way. It's taken Martin two (long) books to reset the chess board (so to speak) due to the events that will take place this season. The Red Wedding was just the start of the massive chain of events that are coming. I think it's safe to say that book readers are most excited about this coming season.
