Emilia Clarke looks awesome with dark hair too!
I prefer Roose Bolton over Ramsay. Ramsay's character is defined by the atrocious tortures he has done and will do.

Roose Bolton is a freaking vampire in the books, he lets leeches suck his blood, he's incredible pale and of course, he never drinks wine.
How much more torture is this guy going to do? That's pretty much all he's done so far. :woot:

And what's that about Roose Bolton? Can't tell if that's serious or not! :o

I'll pay more attention to him when I rewatch it properly. I'm about to buy season 3 but it has a really crap cover. Tempted to get a 1-3 set instead so that I don't have to own that cover.

Oh man, the new darrio is awesome.
Who is this character?

Much of what makes Ramsay's brutality so effective in the books is that it's implied, for the most part. Reek's mannerisms, combined with Ramsay's casual verbal abuse paint a darker picture, for me, than the outright torture we saw in the show.

Daario is a mercenary who enters into Dany's service in Season 3.

Oh damn they're replacing that guy? I liked his scenes.

And I'm rewatching all the episodes and started reading the books so my posts should get a bit less annoying in a few weeks (no promises)....but as another eg of being a bit confused, Reek is the same person as Ramsay right?

Theon's new name is Reek. Ramsay is the one who played with his little finger and killed his private part.

Too much man, too much.

He's pale and has leeches suck his blood, that's from the book and i am serious. The Dracula thing was a jest, but Sexton just stated Vlad Tepes was an inspiration to the character.

Isn't he supposed to have blue hair though? I really don't think he looks all that much more like the book version, other than having facial hair.

This is the book Daario:

The books have so much color, it's so awesome. Televisions and movies never get this bright with medieval stuff, but the Game of Throne books have so much vivid colors, it's like a super hero book or something, i love all the outrageous colors, from the Bolton pink to Renly Baratheon's Rainbow Knights.

Originally, he was Ramsays friend... then Ramsay pretended to be him in Winterfell, fooling Theon.... then turns Theon into Reek. lol

Ramsay was also more imposing in the books:

Qyburn's also pretty creepy.

Thanks. I knew who Ramsay was but thought I'd heard something different about Reek. Is it different in the books or something?

Too much man, too much.

Nice! Now I actually want him to turn out to be some kind of vampiric entity, although he sounds awesome even as a pale human.

Are these alternative versions of the books or graphic novels? Would be interested in reading/seeing it whatever it is. Mine have no pretty pictures.

Damn, I really need to rewatch all this. Sounds quite good actually. :woot: Btw is TV Theon at the end of season 3 supposed to still be a liked character or does the betrayal override that, or does his being shown to be pathetic & getting tortured override the betrayal? No idea what to think of him at the moment.

its not in the show, Ramsay is only in season 3 unless he is secretly disguised Maester Luwin

He did bad things during season 2, but he was still somewhat sympathetic. Well, not so much that you could condone his actions but you could at least understand why he was doing what he was doing.

I think the point with the whole Reek business is to show that there is a point where punishment goes too far. Theon did some horrible things, or at least allowed them to happen, but the way his humanity and identity are ripped physically and mentally from him...that's not something anyone deserves.

But aside from the sadness and horror the character brings about, there's a sliver of hope there as well. His last few chapters in A Dance With Dragons were probably the most emotional of the entire series.

In the books, Ramsay's more shy so he tortures Theon secretly without showing anyone.

Well...of importance. Ramsay has his inner circle in the book that clearly knows what he is. And in season 3 he acted as if he had nothing to do with Theon's escape. Ramsay kept it secret with some, but not all as I took it in the book. It seemed just everyone was too afraid to talk about it. Mainly in front of Roose is where he tries to act normal....as much as he can anyways.

Oh I see. So in the show, his 2 psycho girls know it and I guess the person he killed also knew it too? But then Roose said "Ramsay has his own way of doing things" so I suppose in the show it's different?

Game of Thrones/ A Song of Ice and Fire's writting and presentation with those outrageous colors actually remind me a lot of anime, there are even some discussions about Jaime's swordsmanship and certain characters's tier when it comes to fighting.

Sounds very promising.
