I'd prefer if that's the case. Didn't really want him to have lost to him. Seems a bit of a silly bet for someone to lose though as it should be obvious Tyrion is only going to bet against Jaime vs Loras if he knows something dodgy is going to happen.

Loras is without a doubt the best jouster in Westeros. No pun intended of course. No one can bet him at the discipline. But when it comes to sword fighting, there is arguably close to 10 people who could that him. Jaime would destroy him.

One of my favorite bits of fandom... well ever, was the reaction of a good chunk of book readers freaking out when the show "made" Loras and Renly gay. I guess they never picked up on the not so subtle hints. The Rainbow Guard. Or the fact that GRRM confirmed it himself. :funny:

It reminds of that joke in season 2, between some Lannister soldiers right before Greywind and Robb led an attack on the camp.

I'm curious, was Robb as popular in the novels as he seems to have been on the show? Was his death, or the Red Wedding, as big a deal? It's probably unfair to ask, since I've heard that it happens in the middle of the third book, and not at the end, which probably a type of "aftertaste" effect on a story. I remember reading an interview with GRRM shortly after the Red Wedding episode, and he kinda seemed to be a little surprised at how strongly people felt about it. I think he said that Robb wasn't even one of the POV characters getting chapters, either.

It was still a big thing.

I mean you're seeing it through Catelyn's eyes and this essentially her only family getting slaughtered, what she believes to be her last remaining child getting butchered in front of her. Plus her own death, despite her being one of the main POVs. It was a tragic thing, and it also showed the Stark military forces effectively getting wiped from the war.

Why do I love Darkstar so much?

It's pretty simple when I think about it. Darkstar isn't just the best character in the series, he might just be the greatest character of all time. Just imagining him riding through the sands of Dorne, the wind in his hair, his mighty steed below him. As he rides through the red mountains, the ladies swoon at his very scent. They know how he smells, the essence of his smell is sold in Planky Town under the the name of "Greenblood Orgasm." The very nature of Darkstar is mystery. could he be playing a deeper game than even his creator realizes? The answer is yes, he has transcended such boundaries as the written world, and has free will to do whatever he sees fit. However, Darkstar is filled with such guile, such arcane craft that he does not even use these powers. Why, you might ask? You will never know, for the mind of the Darkstar is not one that is easily penetrated. Darkstar is such a force of nature in his realm that nothing can truly touch him, the only thing keeping him bound to the page at all is his will to exist within the preordained boundaries of his world. Darkstar is not only beyond the comprehension of us, he exists within a plane of true focus and beauty. Observe his playful smile, his gourgeous and rippling biceps, his gallant nose, and most importantly, his eyes. His eyes, like pools of saffron, provide the only glimpse into the true machinations of Darkstar. Do not stare into them. Many good men have gone mad in the attempt. Darkstar is not just a character, a formless collection of words and images, he is himself is the binding that holds the saga together. Without Darkstar, the entire series, the entire world of Westeros as we know it crumbles. The Trident would stop flowing without Darkstar, the Reach would become a desolate crater, and the Wall would melt without his frosty gaze.

These are just of a few of the reasons why I like Darkstar so much.

Reek, how is that not Loras and Renly shaving? :nono:

This is, without doubt, the best thread in the Hype.

Victarion, that was awesome.

Lol

Oh this was just for a joust. All makes sense now.

The picture quality is ridiculous. GoT is must have on blu-ray.

Yeah, just looking at trees or walls is awesome. And of course all the characters look great. I want to watch the DVD to see the difference. Can't imagine how good this will look in 4K.

The blu-rays make the normal HD broadcast look like poop. It is amazing how significant the difference is.

Oh damn, I've never seen that. Might be a bit disappointing when season 4 comes out live. The SD broadcast would be unwatchable lol. Wish we didn't have to wait so long for them to come out, I guess about a year till season 4 blu-rays will be released.

If you have watched the show in HD, SD is kind of unwatchable unless you have an older television.
