They played up that same concept in the video game. The villain studied in Asshai and used his own blood to make shadows, he ended up growing too weak from it and died.

T'was a good game, despite some horrible gameplay.

I know, it was hilarious how easy it was. Especially considering I doubled 20. If you can't find 20 great characters there, you just aren't trying. :D

I'm shocked you actually named so many :lmao:

They are all easily better the Umber on the show. But I guess it is easier to respond with insulting gifs then you actually give a reason.

He's a fun small character that was played in a fun way. Why on earth does it strike you as so odd that people would be disappointed that he hasn't reappeared? People love Boba Fett and he's done **** all.

Besides noone here has said that Clive Mantle is a talent of the likes of Peter Dinklage or Stephen Dillane, if anything it's more "He's cool, wish I saw more of him" and yet you seem to think that this is an inherently wrong opinion to have.

I have never said anything anyone being disappointed. I disputed that on a show like Game of Thrones, where there are literally dozens of fascinating and compelling characters, that he does not qualifies as a "great" character.

Ah so you're taking what is a casual term that people apply to things they like and then getting anal over the definition of said term for no reason other than to be impertinent. Thanks for clearing that up

The idea that Umber is a loss on this show is bizarre to me. You don't have to agree with me of course. If anything, his "big moment" would have hurt one of the most intense scenes in television history.

He's as much a loss as Wex Pyke, Dacey Mormont, Strong Belwas or Donal Roye; nothing major but still something cool that wasn't featured. They're all fun creations. People read about them and like them. Does it stop the show from being fantastic? No. But it is a let down in it's own way.

It certainly didn't hurt the book version. And it helps foreshadow events to come in ADWD.

I think Strong Belwas is a much bigger loss, even though I am not his biggest fan. Dany's story has been missing the fun factor since losing Viserys and Drogo, and I think he would have helped that.

And the book version is so different in its intent then the show's version, much like the show as a whole. There is a real focus on Robb and the impact isn't so focused on Catelyn processing what is happening, but how Robb is torn from the audience. The viewer actually takes Catelyn's place on the show.

He's a loss so far as they even bothered to introduce him in season one only to do away with him completely, without mention, in the following seasons.
They could have at least paid him lip service.

I don't think he would have ruined that scene, just would have been a man desperately trying to protect his king and ultimately failing to do so.

He served his purpose in the first season. A little challenge to Robb, that showed the boy meant business.

True, but he was the bannerman to one of the most powerful houses aligning itself with Robb, I would have just dealt better with his absence if Robb had said something along the lines of "and the Umbers are protecting the Riverlands", anything really.

Rule number 13 of Game of Thrones. Smaller houses only come up when they are about to start crap. :funny:

That is pretty much how they have handled it so far, which is probably why most people still don't know exactly who Roose is.

That's the beauty of having read the books, at my old jobs I took pleasure in connecting the dots for all the 'casuals', never spoiling things of course.

I stumbled upon GoT maybe a couple of months after the first season had finished airing. I knew nothing about it, I actually torrented the first season, watched the first episode... Then the next, and the next... Marathoned the whole thing and eagerly go to download the second season only to find out I'd be waiting a year for it... Said F*** that, went and bought all the books.

I've made up for my piracy by owning all the boxsets and even wasting money on that map book.

In the new trailer who is the young girl that's shooting the bow at 1:18? Which character is she supposed to be?

'kyra'

one of the girls messing with theon in S3
