Dany is naive and young with lots of pressure of what to do. She's still just a little girl who was nothing more then a slave her self being thrust into something bigger then she can handle at the time. Yes she makes bad decisions but it's part of her character, one that I've always rooted for and found fascinating. I'd say the other characters including Stannis can be just as "stupid" in his decisions. I think all the characters have their moments of....that kind of arrogance.
