No that award goes to Ned Stark. What an honorable fool he was. Hope his honor is keeping him warm in his grave.

Like father like son i guess... the way Matthew McConaughey says '95' is almost as annoying as the way (and amount of times) Robb says JUHHHHSTICE

as macabre as it sounds, they should have had his horse dragging
Catelyns body

would have been so ****ed up

I can think of worse things they could've done with [BLACKOUT]Catelyn's (and Robb's) bodies.[/BLACKOUT]

Especially considering the "rumors" Robb was spreading about King Joffrey, his mama and the Kingslayer.

Robb was way worse than Ned. He should've learned from his father's mistakes.

If Robb would have supported Stannis, he might not be such a piece of **** right now.

Rickon :o:o:o

I thought they should have showed SOMETHING with Cat at the beginning of episode 10... Arya clearly loved Jon the most, so a double whammy would have been better IMO

Robb was young and dumb like all young men can be. Ned was a grown man who fought in a War and knew how the politics and the world worked. He also had people trying to help him who he ignored. These facts make him appear infinitely more stupid than his son. Robb has an excuse for his stupidity. Ned is just a dumbass plain and simple.

I lost sympathy for Ned entirely when he told Cersei he knew their secret...because it was the honorable thing to do. Yep it was honorable, and stupid as hell. Then when I found out about what really happened the night Jaime killed the king and the way Ned judged him to be dishonorable Ned went on my **** list forever. I can't stand the self righteous bastard.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Michelle Fairley's naked body dumped into a river.

Robb also ignored all advice given to him. His choice of becoming king in the north instead of following the rightful king as his father would have done...pretty ****ing stupid. He had at least 2 opportunities to win the war... support Stannis or marry a Frey... he chose Talisa Horseface.

Lord knows what black walder did....

Ned didn't like Jaime and Jaime didn't like Ned, given the circumstances in which Ned came to King's Landing, with Tywin having sacked the city, brutally slaughtered Elia, Rhaenys and Aegon, and then to find Jaime having murdered Aerys...it's very easy to see why he jumped to the conclusions he did.

Jaime never tried to rectify that.

Robbs an idiot I don't argue with you there, but Ned is the bigger fool imo.

Cause Ned would have never listened to him. Regardless of circumstances Jaime broke vow and vows and honor are all Ned cares about. This is made clear in the first episode of the series when he kills the boy who abandoned the Wall. Plenty of boys have left the Wall for terrible reasons and came back and weren't executed. We are told this when Jon returns to the Wall after he left that one time. This boy in the first episode leaves for good reason. Tells Ned of the walkers and still gets murdered by Ned. And yes I'm calling it murder because it was. Ned should have sent him back to the Wall and let the Night's Watch decide his fate. The Watch is under staffed as is. Does Ned care? Nope. He kills the boy wipes off his blade and goes on with life.

Gahhh I hate that man!

He never even tried to explain. He never even made the attempt.

Boys leave the watch for night, aye that's correct. To Mole's Town and the like, this boy travelled all the way south to Winterfell which is a huge distance. Comparatively, the Last Hearth and the Dreadfort are closer to the Wall than Winterfell. He was babbling like a madman, had escaped the Watch for god knows how many leagues. He broke the law, and he died for it.if anything it's a statement on how incompetent the Watch is at keeping their own in line.

This.

Ned put his honor and vows over common sense and the well being of his family. Whereas, Robb was just young, dumb and in love.

Ned was WAAAAAAY worse than his son.

Well of course he ran to winterfell. He had just encountered White Walkers and wights. Two things that Ned knows existed at one time. It doesn't matter if the kid sounded like a mad man Ned had an obligation to the North and to the Realm to get to the bottom of it and to inform the Nightwatch. I can't remember, but did he even tell the Lord Commander about the boy? My view is Ned can't keep things in perspective ever because he has his head too far up Honor's ass at all times.

And there was no point in Jaime trying to explain. Hell I wouldn't have either. Anyone who knows Ned knows he wouldn't have listened. Ned wouldn't have believed the King was gonna burn down King's Landing. He would have accused Jaime of lying most likely.

Ned told his brother in the Night Watch about the boy.

Ned told Benjen, who returned to the wall... so you'd think benjen told the Nights watch

As others have pointed out, he told Benjen..First Ranger. Did Benjen care that Ned killed the boy? No not at all, because that's what's expected.

And Jaime looked like a right bastard when they found him, we know he isn't because we have all the facts. If I was in Ned's situation, having seen what Tywin did to King's Landing, having seen what was done to Elia, Rhaenys and Aegon, I'd be just as distrustful and pissed off as Ned was. It looked like Jaime was in on the betrayal, and at that they don't get the ****ing benefit of the doubt.

Ned's not a perfect man, he was flawed like every other character in the series, but every choice he made in his life was based on his own moral code of ethics. There's a reason why the North Remembers.

Good trailer. Braavos looks stunning. I 'm looking forward to that Oberyn/Cersei scene ("we can avenge them" HA!)

Also i loved Littlefinger's speech to Alayne about confusing foes (that dialogue in the books was great)

They could call Gary Stretch, who played Cleitus in Alexander(2004 film) to play Victarion. That's more or less how i pictured him. Although with more beard

Vincent Regan could be The Norrey, or The Flint, or The Wull, or whatever northern clansmen. Or he could play Robett Glover. But please let him play some Northener. Or Yohn "Bronze" Royce. Lol too many choices. And im pretty sure all of these characters will get omitted.

Being closed minded like that is what caused all this crap in the seven kingdoms. It's not about benefit of the doubt. It's about knowing the reason and the why behind things. If Ned had no interest in finding out the truth then he has not right to judge anything. After all those years, the fact Ned never tried to get any more insight into any of it makes him seem incredibly narrow minded imo. He comes in see the king dead. Asks Jaime what happened. Jaime doesn't tell him. And just stops inquiring and makes up his mind for all eternity. Me I would have kept digging til I found out all I could cause the death of a king and the details of the event are pretty important.

And yes everyone is flawed in the series. Not many of any of them are as stupid as Ned Stark tho.

It's Westeros, not Ms Marple.

The Lannisters killed Elia, they killed Rhaenys, they killed Aegon. Jaime killed Aerys. The logical answer why, when you look at those four murders together makes it clear that the Lannisters simply wanted the Targaryens gone to curry favor with the new, assured Baratheon dynasty. Ned, and in fact just about everyone else in that world didn't look for a greater reason because there was no need to. You put just about any other character in that same position and they would have reached the same conclusions Ned did.
