they seem to really love their 'Dracarys' moments.... meh. bad episode.

Me liked it. I was waiting for the dragons to show up...

No episode that involves Arya traveling across the lands with her emotionally compromised father can be called bad.

I really liked the episode. Clearly, after such a big event that the previous episode was this one would be slower. Had to be. But, we still got alot of good stuff. There weren't major events occurring, except for Little Finger making his return. But, there was plenty of smaller bits where they were setting things up quite nicely. Pretty much on all fronts, they were setting this up. Whether it was with Oberyn, Jon, Dany, Tyrion, Jamie, Sam, I felt like they were setting things up into interesting directions for them. I think Jon's story is probably the one that has me the most interested right now. I'm enjoying this new Jon Snow we seem to have. He's more confident, and sure of himself. He kind of reminded me a little bit of Ned in the scene after the boy is at Castle Black.

And the end, with Dany was probably the best I think we've had of her in a few. Emilia Clarke does a damn good job of making Valyrian sound like a real language that people speak, because she delivers it very, very well. And I really enjoyed the juxtaposition of the words she was saying with the slaves understanding, and the slavers thinking they're ****ed. I mean, it was really nice to see that final shot of the slave holding up the broken chain that looks exactly like the one he's wearing, and then turning to the slaver. And that man having a look on his face that says, "He's going to kill me in my sleep, isn't he?"

I thought Tywin was boss here, too. A very good scene with Tommen, that showcased just how different he is from his late brother. And it was a great mentor-and-student moment, where he's schooling his grandson. I kinda wish Jamie hadn't interrupted the sex talk, where in which Grandpa Tywin was going to explain the details on the mechanics of sex. And his scene with Oberyn was great too.

I know there's alot of debate on the Jamie and Cersei scene. My two cents is that I didn't think it rape. It appeared to become consensual by the end, and I thought her line of "this is wrong" had to do with the fact that the corpse of their son was right beside them. They have a complicated relationship, obviously. They have three children together, and their siblings. There was alot going on in that scene, too. There was...alot of disturbing and wrong things occuring there. It was the first time we've had a scene where they openly speak about the children they've had together. It was disturbing from start to finish. And as for Jamie taking a step back in terms of his redemption, I feel like everytime he's in a scene with Cersei showing her affection it feels like a step back for me. It reminds me of how he pushed an innocent child out a window and nearly killed him, but instead made him lose the use of his legs. For me, a major part of Jamie's redemption will be to get away from Cersei. To, you know, stop having an incestual relationship with his sister.

Oh, and my prime suspect was Oberyn. But...he was pretty convincing in his denial. I still think it's him, but damned if I'm not less certain about it with his explanation to Tywin.

Is it just me but does it seem like this season isn't flowing as good as the past ones? It kinda just seems like each scene is just it's own, like each chapter is a character in the book.

You're a bad episode. :o

I think this by far the best flow/pacing the show has had. Even surpassing the high points of season one in those regards. Not the scattershot mess that season 3 and especially season 2 could be.

So who is Tommons father? Is it still speculated?

I was worried this episode would seem uneventful after what happened last episode. But I was drawn in pretty quickly.

As for the Jaime scene, I feel while conceptually disturbing it was the wake up call his die hard fans needed. He isn't completely to be trusted and he certainly isn't selfless. A few good acts last season doesn't mean we should expect him to always put his first.

I've found nothing wrong with the pacing of any of these seasons. :o

Seen the rape scene now and it's too unclear to serve any purpose. It needed to be slightly more towards either consensual or non consensual. Seems a waste of time when it fails to convey any definitive information (as is evidenced by the debates above) and is otherwise an unneccesary part of the scene. Also not exactly a fun topic to be debating in the name of entertainment, especially on behalf of a character who was turning into one the audience was supposed to sympathise with, but I guess they want to push every controversial boundary.

Other than that the episode was totally awesome (not being ironic).

I think you're right, each scene is playing out alot like the chapters of a character from the book, but I think that's a good thing. I think the pacing has been very well done thus far this season. I'm pretty happy with how they've paced the episodes this season.

They're all Jamie's. Cersei confirmed it to Ned when he confronted her in season one. It's where she also confirmed that she had one child with Robert, but it had died.

I agree. Jamie's hands (er...hand) are always going to be very dirty. I think he's still on a path of redemption as well, but that doesn't mean he won't stumble on that path. I still see his relationship with Cersei a major obstacle on that path, too. My skin crawled in the season premiere when

No one actually knows for sure but there is a long list of people who suspect it. A very long list.

Doesn't everybody know? Everybody atleast suspects, because it went public because of Ned (and because of Stannis in the book). I think everyone knows.

Definitely.

I think last night's episode, where we finally got to see him and Cersei opening speak about Joffrey as their son...Jamie definitely knows. I think prior to last night's episode, there was some doubt. But, I don't think there's anymore doubt after last night's episode.

- Sansa escaping.
- Tywin teaching Tommen.
- Tyrion and Pod discussing his situation and Pod's safety in his jail cell.
- Jon and the Nights Watch finding two survivors of the mutiny.
- Tywin and Oberyn discussing the Mountain and Tyrion's upcoming trial.
- Dany and her champion knocking on the door of Meeren.
- Arya and Sandor run into a family on the road.
- Sam attempting to protect Gilly by getting her away from Castle Black.
- Davos and Stannis discussing how to gather an army.
- Davos getting his lessons from Shireen.
- A Wildling attack.
Sorry for quoting this again now that I've seen the episode but ..it's really useful

- I liked Baelish's explanations to Sansa. His dialogue is always great.
- Tywin/Tommen - Awesome lessons on kingship by Tywin..Tommen did better than I would have.
- Tyrion/Pod - that scene sounded really boring when I read your description :woot: but it was great..was choking up at the end.
- Jon has transformed this season. Acting like a real leader. It sounded even like Alliser Thorne was thawing a bit towards him?
- Great exchange between Tywin & Oberyn. So has Oberyn let Tywin off the hook after that denial to focus only on the Mountain?
- Dany - good scene, I liked the part where her generals volunteer to be her champion before being turned down for various (good) reasons. This Daario doesn't have quite the unbelievable cockiness of his predecessor but I like him all the same. Won't take long to get used to him.
- Sandor & Arya - Damn, his logic makes sense but they're making it hard to continue rooting for the antiheroes.
- Sam & Gilly - cute, went on a while.
- Davos/Stannis - Hope Davos can get his act together soon & have Stannis as a major player again. He's got to have some acceptance of Melisandre by now, with all her visions coming true one by one.
- Davos/Shireen - great little girl as I said before. Hope we see more of her.
- Wildling attack - brutal. I want to see the Thenns fight soon.

Also enjoyed the exchange between Margaery & Olenna. Love Margaery and Olenna has got to be one of my favourites, even if she's not in it much

The idea that he ever could've impregnated Cersei with Joffrey should've made Jamie never want to have sex with her again. "Oh that is what happens when I bang my sister? Uhh... I think I'm going to go steal one of Tyrion's ****es."

So is everyone pretty much behind Tommon? Hasn't said much but his scene with Tywin makes me not want for him to share his brothers fate.

Edit, as in posters, not characters. Are people rooting for him?

I've decided not to get too attached to any of these characters anymore. They tend to die horribly.
