How do we know the ones we've seen are male? :yay:

Oh man, now I'm being unsettled :funny:

About the Margarie and Tommen scene, I found it sweet and the also found it that word that begins with an 'r' but I don't want to say it because it might make me seem really crazy/creepy - I know Tommem is like 13 but still, it felt so sweet. I know Margarie has an ulterior motive but she felt so sincere. She is so dangerously good. I also like how the ***** entered the scene too - Ser Pounce, if I recall correctly.

The female white walker that the Night's King fell in love it must be really... erm... pretty.

Ive only seen one illustration of her and she had smooth white skin long straight hair and pretty features.

The show has went with a more obviously evil visual design for the white whalkers, but Im not sure Geroge envisioned them thay way. The Night's King descibed her as beautiful with smooth white skin and eyes as blue as ice and she was an Other so Im wondering if Martin didnt visualize them as prettier. Look at the elves in Hellboy 2. Thats more how I visualized the white walkers. Smooth white skin perfect bodies and bright blue eyes. Something magical...and deadly.

If you're talking about the wiki, then there was another smaller pic of her completely naked - I was like WTF. :funny:

I was thinking more-or-less the same thing as you, regarding the beauty.

Here's what I want to see more from the WWs in the show. Some beautiful ones and also show off their superior swordsmanship. They're supposed to be skilled swordfighters, right?

Yeah Martin's never described them as demonic. They seem really beautiful, with voices that sound otherworldly.

This would make them even more dangerous because some people would be captivated by their beauty.

Heck look at the Night's King in the show. He has smoother skin and more delicate features than the one on the horse and the one that attacked Sam. Im guessing like with any species you have the more beautiful ones and you have the nick nolte looking white walkers who've spent too much time in the elements and have lived hard lives.

I still think its wrong because these beings are magical and shouldnt be ugly or evil looking, but it works fpr the show so I can live wit it and the show is making them very badass.

I do desperately want to hear one speak!

Because we've seen them march for miles without trying to start an argument.
You got me there.

What the hell happens in this scene?!!

Great points. I can live with this! Some beautiful ones and some ok ones and some grandpa ones. And I agree, the Night's King has smoother skin, indeed.

Same here! I want to see what language they speak.

I want to see one fight more too with their deadly swords. Imagine someone like Locke fighting one and he gets outmatched like an amateur and his hand gets cut off... then Bear and Maiden fair plays.

Roose/anyone, help me understand somethings about the ending of the episode:
So we see 13 people standing away from the sacrifise stone, then the Night's King walks close and turns the baby into an Other. My question is: What's the signifcance with the number 13? You got 13 others, the Night's King was the 13th Commander of the Night's Watch and ruled for 13 years, is this some obscure reference to Friday 13th legend?

But yeah, even this article refers the Other as their king, guess HBO really did reveal something truly truly outrageous!

Margaery and Tommen are talking and then Ser Pounce gets jealous of all the attention that Margaery is getting, so he enters the scene and gets in the middle, and that makes the scene a threesome (not sexually).

Just finished watching the episode. That ending was unbelievable.

Good name for a kid's cat. Yeah, Margaery was great here...Tommen's got a lot to look forward to! And I hope he lives for a bit. Seems like one of the nicest people on the whole show.

Yeah I hope so too. :awesome:

And I take it back. That wasn't the sweetest scene for me. That award goes to the Tyrion and Jaime scene. So much friendship. So many warm fuzzy feels.

"Sup bro."

"Sup bro."

"I raped our sister last week."

"Door's over there, dude."

On one level it's probably a Friday the 13th reference and the general belief that 13 is an unlucky number, it might also be a twisted/inverted reference to Jesus and the 12 Apostles (considering NK would be older than a lot of his kin).

But also, GRRM loves to reuse ideas and motifs through all his work. Numbers in particular are reoccurring. For instance the number 7 reappears in a few different works, both ASOIAF related and otherwise. Perhaps it's GRRM playing with that style again.

Tyrion's scene with Pod was like that last week.

I agree. That was really sweet and a tearjerker.

It's so nice that we get these scenes and small victories in this large, cruel and cold world.

If you look at the legend of the Night's King he is like a twisted cult leader. After the female Other stole his soul he began sacrificing humans and commiting other atrocities. He probably has acolytes or apostles that are his closest advisors. So I dont doubt that the other twleve standing by him are a twisted take on the twelve apostles and the unlucky 13.
What I really want to know is how this guy ended up ruling the Others. He didnt start out as an Other. He was human and. Lord Commander, and Westeros thought he was killed so somehow he retreated and survived and went on to become King of the freakin Kingdom of Always Winter! Thats no small feat. Makes me wonder if there is someone above him like the Great Other or a god and it appointed him.

I need WOW and ADOS right now! I gotta know more about whats going on in the Kingdom of Always Winter!

Funny to think if Disney did GoT

Man, what a crazy ****ing episode. I very much enjoyed it. They keep upping the ante this season.

I liked Dany opening this episode. While I understand Ser Barristan's counsel, I think Dany made the right move. There were alot of dead children. I thought she did well, with having the masters semi crucified the way they had done to the children. And that shot, of Dany at the top with her flag blowing in the wind was a great sight to see. I suppose now we get to see her truly tested, though. I suppose this was like Robert's Rebellion on training wheels for her, and now we'll see how she rules. As we all know, that's the tricky party for everyone.

I very much liked Jamie's story this episode too. Bronn bringing up the fact that Tyrion had chose Jamie as his champion before Bronn stepped forward proved to be a rather powerful brotherly moment. The scene with Tyrion and Jamie was just great, too. And Jamie's scene with Brienne...Jamie was in a lot of good scenes this episode, really. I enjoyed how Brienne named the sword "Oathkeeper".

While I've enjoyed everything this season, especially being introduced to Oberyn who I think is a great character and can really steal a scene, I still think Jon's storyline is my favorite thus far. He's reminding me more of Ned this season, and he seems to have matured. He's just behaving and seems more grizzled, and it's wonderful to see. I liked how they showed us he knew about Bran and his group. It's not like Sam can keep a secret. I'm really excited to see if they cross the streams here, which I'm not expecting. But, it's still interesting to see the possibility getting teased.

And hey, it was kinda cool to see some of the questions I've even seen asked here on this board get answered. Like knowing the whereabouts of Ghost, and if Sam had told Jon about running into his brother.

And man, was Craster's Keep ****ing disturbing. That scene...that place...is 10x worse than when Craster was in charge. Which is ****ing amazing to me, because it was creepy as hell before as well. Karl drinking wine from the skull of Old Bear Mormont (who I think people may not know was Jorah's father) was ****ing heartbreaking. And the Craster wives/daughters being beaten and raped...goddamn was that entire thing just sad and disturbing. I understand that Bran really wanted to free Summer and Ghost, and even investigate and see if Jon is dead...I mean, if they have Ghost then one can presume it, right?

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jon and his team just **** that place up. And, I thought it was funny in all kinds of ways how Locke, who is Bolton's man, chose to betray Jon Snow to try and kill him. But, to do that he's going through the trouble of becoming friend's with him first, to then betray him. I just find it very funny, considering who it is Locke answers to.
