So you mean Tywin's brother f***** Tywin's wife, and she then gave birth to Tygett's sons?

Man, that dynasty won't straighten up at all.

 No. Jaime just inherited his grandfather's genes. The same genes that made Tywin's brother a good fighter. Tywin just didnt get as lucky in the genetic lottery.

No I'm referring to more him taking after his uncles more than his dad. In AFFC Genna Lannister tells Jaime that he's a mis-mash of all the Lannister uncles (Kevan's sense of duty, Tygett's skill with a blade, Gerion's good humour) whereas Tyrion is the one that truly takes after Tywin.

I wonder if Tywin's sister will make an appearance. She might not even exist in the show.

I think he meant that Tygett just helped train Jaime.

That too. But Jaime favors Tygett more than Tywin. Thats just how the genetic lottery played out.

Sometimes you take after a grandparent or an uncle more than a parent.

Not really sure how Daenerys story is going to turn out this season since I'm only about a quarter of a way through ADWD but do you think that

We're going to see Jorah kicked out of her little crew? I know that was book 3 stuff and her story has kinda past that.

Well I noticed in the most recent episode they made a point to mention his role as a former spy for them, so that leads me to believe [blackout]they're planning to bring that to the forefront in Dany's storyline sometime soon. They've also been laying on the "best friend/trusted advisor" stuff pretty thick in the Jorah/Dany scenes lately, too, which further leads me to believe they're building to it. I think he'll get kicked out at the end of the season.[/blackout]

The Tygett/Tywin/Jaime was just a joke people. :) nothing more.

Okay so i finally watched the episode. And it certainly is my favorite this season (so far)

Stannis's scene was awesome. Davos totally rocked the iron bank. When he showed Saladhor the coins i was like "finally!! they can eat!!"

The whole dreadfort scene were excellent. It felt rather anticlimactic. I have to confess, having read all books, i have NO idea whatsoever where Asha/Yara's storyline is heading. If this was her only chapter, i would feel it to be utterly pointless.
The only positive thing i got was that it showed that Theon (by not recognizing his sitser) is truly broken and beyond repair.

Dany's scenes were good filler, showing the greys of ruling. And i liked how Barristan (again) looked at her knowing that she made the wrong decision.

The whole King's Landing's scenes were stunningly perfect. Nickolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage totally stole the show. (Jaime's face changes during the whole trials were astounding. And Tyrions's face when Shae appeared was heartbreaking to say the least)

Overall, it was an excellent chapter, and my personal favorite of this season so far. 9.5/10

Sorry for the long post.

Salladhor's accent is awesome.

The Lannister family is just all kinds of messed up.

Were it not for Tywin, it would probably be one of the better houses in Westeros.

Nope. They are talking Memorial Day off. The first two seasons they didn't do it, but the last two seasons they have. It is maddening.

But the right thing to do. Season 2 had a ratings drop on memorial day weekend.

It's a blessing and a curse for me. I'll probably be passed out drunk on a beach that Sunday night, so I'd miss the episode anyway, but the two week wait will suck. I don't understand why they're so afraid of falling in the ratings for Memorial Day. The show has cracked 7 million viewers. People would watch.

It is paid television. That really doesn't matter. Everyone will catch up before next week. Whether it is HBOGO, dvr or ondemand.

Well, that depends on what you define as "better." It's well established that Tywin saved the house from near ruin and turned it into the dynamo it is. Is he a great guy? No, not really. But it isn't like his offspring are saints, either.

This. I was terrified of this too, as if we didn't pity the character enough. Ironically, I ended up watching Penny Dreadful afterwards where they did end up showing some guy's genitals. :wow: Clever, HBO, clever.

They show diseased genitals on a tv show called Embarrassing Bodies all the time here in the UK and pass it off as medical entertainment.

Umm, no.

Noone was respecting the Lannisters anymore. Tywin's father was a joke and people didn't pay their debts or respect the Lannister authority, then Tywin Lannister slaughtered the Castamere family for good.

I havn't read the books but has the show caught up with them?
