What a classy & great tribute Lewis did for Heath. Got respect that kind of person. Especially when he has never met him before. Gosling's ribbon was a nice gesture too. :word:

Good to here one of the best actors of his generation Daniel Day Lewis showing some respect and admiration to Heath.

Sucks that those Phelps nuts where protesting outside.

I'd imagine that it would be a side thing - similar to the Kurt Cobain notebook prints.

If they even do it, that is :o

I'm still pissed at Courtney for doing that :cmad: Nobodies journal should be made public without consent.

Very touching if someone is going to play the Joker in the other Batman by Nolan. I would trust Daniel to do it because he is a man who I know would do Heath honor.

He is a very committed actor as well I think that is why he relates to Ledger a lot. I heard for "There Will Be Blood" that when the movie was pushed back for a year or so. That Daniel refused to take any new roles because he wanted to stay in character till he finished "There Will Be Blood" so he remained in character mind set for quite sometime even when not having work.

I haven't seen the movie yet but I look forward to it and will definitely root for an Oscar win for a man with Daniels class and spirit.

It's awesome to see arguably the greatest (and my favorite) actor alive give a tribute to Heath Ledger.

Really great to finally hear from Nolan on Heath, very nice of him to give some insight of who Heath was as a man. I like how he told of the late nights shooting scenes and Heath skateboarding. It makes me think of him on Chicago streets boarding just having a good time.

Also hearing how hard it has been for him to edit the film while seeing Heaths face and voice and missing him terribly.

As fans of a character or icon as Batman, I don't think we could have asked for better professionals, artists, or just plain good people. Then what we have been blessed with for "The Dark Knight".

I love Nolan and crew I hope they keep things going for a long long time.

Ryan Gosling was wearing a black ribbon on the red carpet, like the one on http://whysoserious.com

The ironic thing is, over on IMDB, Ryan Gosling is the guy a lot of those folk seem to be getting behind as Ledger's successor in the Joker role. Not that that's a conversation I particularly care to get into at this time.

I will say that was a very touching tribute from Daniel Day-Lewis. If possible, I now have even more respect for the man.

it was nice.

p.s. what has this to do with batman? nothing.....like always.

That's a really nice gesture. It just shows what a great guy he was to have touched so many people he'd never met.

Great guy. I've only seen a couple of his movies, but they were pretty good. I'll definitely make it a point to watch more now.

I think it's rather obvious as to what it has to do with Batman. Heath Ledger was a major focus (if not THE major focus) of Batman fans ever since his casting as the Joker. His death shook most of us up greatly, and it's nice to see someone give a tribute to him.

I saw it this past weekend and I think it's possibly the greatest performance in a movie that I've ever seen. He's incredible. He's such a kind, humble, soft-spoken person in real life but in the film he transforms himself into something completely different.

As a man and as an actor, Daniel Day-Lewis is a class act, and this just proves it. He is a true method actor, and he must have saw something like that in Heath Ledger - the maticulous role preparation, the emotional strains a role can bring, Day-Lewis knows when to recognise a great fellow artist, and I think that is great to see. It is lovely to see some humanity like this from a true Hollywood great.

Very nice tribute from Nolan. This is an actor the world will miss terribly.

That's an appropriate GIF. Plainview is very similar to Kane. Power-hungry nutjob by the end.

yes

Chris Nolan shows us just how much of a classy guy he is. Nice tribute to Heath.

Very nice of DDL and Gosling to honor Ledger as they did.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

RIP Heath, I'm from Australia, and he truly is one of the rising and great actors of our nation.

Class act from DDLewis and Nolan.

That was a very heartfelt article. Nolan knows how to express himself in words and make them sound beautiful. It showed how dedicated Ledger was to the art of film making.
