I'd be surprised. They're gonna release it at the same time. Studios put a lot of effort into planning release dates, especially summer ones. They're positioning "The Dark Knight" against a bunch of other superhero/action movies, so they can't change the date without having consequences on the bottom line.

Well TDK's overall gross just went up like at least $100 million.

I just got off the phone with my best friend and we both said the sad part is that there is some WB executive who just took comfort in that exact thought.

It's too bad...Heath's performance in TDK will always be remembered, but for none of the reasons he wanted it too be.

I don't know. I only know a great actor today is gone. This is a sad day.

THAT is the right sentiment.

A person's life > How the Dark Knight is going to turn out

Some of you people are simply are ridiculous.

Of course you are right.

But I, for one, never met Ledger. I didn't know the man. But I grew up with Batman and everything Batman-related has been a big part of my life for 20 years.

This is such a tragedy but people die every day. Young people, old people, small babies...show must go on.

dude
everyone should just wait at least a week until this stuff comes up
poor heath :csad:

Why? I mean this is sad news, but no one here has a personal connection to the man. The only way his death affects anyone here is through this film.

I dont know guys, the entire marketing scheme is going to have to be reworked. I would not be at all surprised if its bumped back to 2009 and they do reshoots with a different actor.
I was wondering that myself, but who knows what will happen though.

They've got enough done that they should be able to press on. In any case I expect a dedication either before the flick or right before the credits.

So a man dies, and instead of honoring his last work, and suppossively brilliant work, you ruin it by replacing him? Give me a break

I just want to express my condolences for his family. I feel so very gutted to her he is gone and can't continue his increasing career. RIP

I've just heard the news. I'm gutted. R.I.P Heath. i really couldn't care about baman now

It's just so sad.

The biggest comic villain of all time, returning to the big screen with a vengeance!

The most anticipated movie of 2008.

The most anticipated CHARACTER of 2008.

All the hype, all the positive things we heard about this man and his performance.

And he will not be able to recieve any recognition for it.

His poor daughter.

R.I.P. Heath Ledger.

Well said..

I know a person has died, a great actor coming up on his prime, a father, a son,a friend to many.. I'm all for people mourning his death but this is a forum about a movie. That's why we're on here, we don't personally know heath ledger, I don't see much wrong with discussing the impact his death will have on the movie we're all here to discuss

christ almighty.

i'm very sorry for his daughter and ex-wife and all, but this is awful for me as a batman fan as well.

there's no way nolan's gonna continue the franchise. it just wont happen.

people, right now we have to forget his performance in TDK and think about him as a person

seriously

if they even bring him back, for all we know a) joker was not going to be in the sequel or b) he might now be written out possibly due to respect to heath

Closing credits: "In memory of Heath Ledger, 1979-2008" :csad:

This is like being concerned that Spider-Man couldn't use their first trailer after 9/11 because they showed a helicopter webbed up between the towers. Think of the larger picture here. This is just so sad and so very tragic. The guy leaves a baby daughter and family, get some perspective or priorities, people.

agreed which is why i thought about this,i really dont know if its right to release the film or the press around it after this

truely sad to just talk about how the franchise gets affected ....it causes alot of pain to all around him ...his daughter his wife his friends ...his fans....this is just crazy ...i've never heard of problems ....just so unreal ...a nightmare......
