Disclaimer: I honest to god do not want to equate this but the logic is the same...

"you still have a place" sounds a lot like sit in the back of the bus.

Again. Not even remotely as oppressive. But please remember that this is insulting to a lot of people.

I've never been banned, probated, or warned, but if I so much as respectfully mention Wellings name in a forum about who should be cast, all of the above might happen.

I most certainly did not insult you. You said you were part of a group that made a decision. You seem to be pretty respectful and tolerant so I'm appealing to you to revisit (with the same group) and possibly reverse that decision.

Unless you lied and unilaterally made the decision yourself and are faking me out as to your personality you should not feel insulted.

Rather the opposite. Hoping someone sees your point rather than assuming they are too ignorant to do so (and acting out) is about the ultimate form of respect.

And I don't see how you'd read my posts to you as disrespectful - unless of course I pegged you and this situation wrong.

Because despite what some may think about me right now, I'm a huge smallville fan but an even bigger superman fan. When Bruce said how the new movie is going to make so much more with welling, I just dnt think that's true. For every point there can be a counterpoint and I just don't agree with him. He uses words like welling hater or misinformed but that's not necessarily true.

I'm a huge supporter but having a poll where he is leading does not really make a valid point bc there are a lot of people who vote and then revote. That is my point, you can be happy he's leading but I seriously doubt snyder and Nolan will look at these types of polls as a way to cast the nxt superman. Those who get so happy that he's leading can feel btr that othr people feel the same way, but ultimately will get there hopes up and him not being cast. I dnt thnk it's wrong of me to discuss this in the welling forum since it's about welling.

Yup lol After one of my other forums closed I decided to change my SN so others from there would know who I was here better. I was and still am a loud and proud
Superman fan / Welling supporter. The discussion wouldn't even have to be about Welling and if I said my piece on something, someone would chime in "Oh he's a welling fan so what does he know" or "its okay to insult him, he's just a wellign fan".

I would love to see him in the movie and I'm still hoping for it. But the more I think about it the less likely it seems. Studios probably think the general populace are stupid and that we will be like "OH they're making smallville the movie"

It won't let you vote twice from the same computer. So theyd have to drive to the library or something. And it's unlikely that that many people would go to all that trouble.

Actually, this is a reason you can cast Welling as Supes.

-If the general audience doesn't know who he is. Then their is no conflict if the story is different than Smallville.

-I am sure their is a good segment of the general audience that may have heard that TW played Superman on a tv show. Again, their is no conflict if the story is different and the good news is that they associate TW with Superman.

-You get the upside of all of the Smallville fans who will go to see the movie. Yes, they may be upset if none of the Smallville cast or background is used. But, will be excited to see TW as Superman.

-The only negative would be the other Supes fans who dislike TW. They will complain. But, in the end will probably go see the movie. And if its good they will see it again. And like big Smallville fans. They are not a huge part of the general audience.


I will use my nephew and his friends (all 23yrs old) as an example. They are not fanboys. They would see Superman if ,like Dark Knight, they heard it was a good movie. If you asked them about TW. They would probably just say he plays Supes on the tv show. Ask them about anything else from the show and they will not know it...Also, these are the same guys who were annoyed a bit by Superman Returns. Why make a "sequel" to a 30yr old movie that most of them hadn't seen. Yes, they could figure it out. It just made no sense. And those who awere familiar with Superman. Were familiar with the post 1985 reboot. (ie-Lex as Corporate exec) from the Animated show, Lois & Clark and yes..Smallville.

Anyway, don't worry about the Routh fans at the Superman section acting all immature and childish, there's like 4 of them over there, it's best to just ignore them really.

As for Welling, I think he'd make a terrific Superman, but I don't believe for a second that he might be in the new movie. This is a new take on the character, and I really do think Nolan and Snyder want their own Superman, to establish a new franchise with a fresh face completely free from past connections. It does sadden me a little bit, because I feel Welling would do good, and he has a physicality that is the most appropriate one I have ever seen for Superman.
But on the other hand, I'm trying to remain optimistic about a new actor taking over, even though the chances of him being what I'm expecting are quite small. My enjoyment of the movie depends completely on the actor chosen being an appropriate choice that will convince as Clark and Superman, I hope they make the right choices because that Hamm fella simply wont do, nor will that Armie Hammer dude.
