Here's what The Punisher 2 needs to do to be successful.

going back to the suit, a body suit is bent end of story, but the marvel knights covers, his kit looks good, combats, drop leg holsters, hes a soldier, fighting a war and the skull is cool, if they did change it, in the beggining or marvel knights skulls are chilling and scary.

1-Get away from this campy dark humor bull**** from Ennis's original run on the title. It was forced and distracting in the film.

I didn't find the humor in the first one campy at all, although scenes like the fight with the Russian could've used less campy music.

2-Get a solid writer who will make us care about Frank Castle, not just someone who can give us action set pieces and unique kills. This is a movie, not a ****ing video game.

We've got a promising new writer, so we'll see how that works out. I agree that the action sets could be better, but I think we got plenty of unique kills in the first film (bow and arrow, knife through the jaw, trip mine stuff).

3-The title needs to be The Punisher: Circle of Blood. Keep the number out of the title. This will allow the film to stand on its own and entice new viewers to go see it.

It doesn't need to be anything in particular. That's just your opinion.

4-The film needs to adapt Circle of Blood while updating some of the concepts. But outside of the updating, the movie needs to be an almost flawless adaptation of that mini. It was a great story and began right in the middle of the action. In fact, the last film should've been CoB, and it would have been a blockbuster hit. We'd be seeing the sequel sometime this summer.

Again, that's way too specific of a wish. You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

5-Upgrade from the t-shirt look. Using the financiers from CoB offers the opportunity for a kevlar suit that doesn't look in any way superheroish, but is functional and badass. I'm thinking of Jim Lee's Punisher from the original War Journal.

I personally loved the t-shirt. I loved the skull vest even more. That's just me, though.

6-No love interests for Frank, no lame sequences involving him doing things like saving lives or wasting his time on jaywalkers. Stick to the character that was there at the beginning (CoB, not the Amazing Spider-Man issues) and put some of the MAX Ennis Punisher in for good measure.

I think his love interest in the first film was actually very well done because it didn't end up with them together. It emphasized how lonely Frank is and must be.

You know the one thing that would have made the first movie absolutely awesome?

If at the very end, after he's killed howard saint, he corners Mickey Duka, the guy he tortured with a popsicle at the beginning, and puts a gun to his head and blew his brains out. Then it would show the totally ruthless killer side of Frank Castle. There is no way the Punisher from the MAX series would have let him live, regardless of how he helped him or how insignificant he was

Obviously it could be done in a more detailed way than just shooting him, with no explanation... perhaps the words "even the small fish get fried" which is a great line from the THQ game.

I love how so many people want an exact same story they have read 7 times put on the screen. I can almost promise as soon as that finally happens everyone will go "WTF!!?!!?!? try being orginal" I prefer when they don't follow the comic perfectly because I have already read the story I don't need to see it I can just go pick up those issues, and read them again.

Sure there are alot of things you would love to see done to this movie, but you also need to remember that they still need to appeal to mass audiences. Killing all the humor would not make this movie successful.

I agree with number 6

I would agree with numbers 1, and 2 except I don't think they humor was all that campy I also felt that the writer made me care plenty about Frank.

I love how you say that the writer needs to make us care about Frank, and at the same time you don't want him to save people.
