Heroes Reborn General Discussion

Ratings always have to be compared to what other shows on the network are getting, so I'd say the ratings are mediocre, maybe poor, but not terrible.

This would work better if they got rid of Tim Kring. Guy obviously learned piss all from the last 3 seasons of the original series. Season 1 was clearly a fluke.

I agree with you there Kring reminds me of Lucas.

It has fallen every single week. Last week it was down to a 1.12 and that's definitely not the floor. It will be fractional in a few weeks.

LOL at Noah on Claire's death bed and not even checking the back of her heard like he alluded to earlier. Laughable scene with Bennett crying his eyes out over a sheet and some blonde hair. SMH the Claire thing is being handled horribly. Just re-cast the actress!!
The character is more important than the actor. Bruce Banner was recast 3 times in the Marvel cinematic universe! You can't recast one actress!?!. /rant

Well holy cow, what a step up that episode was ! Finally, we are getting into the juicy bits, feels good to see more of the original characters, the twist is very good even though many had guessed it and I felt actually excited watching it.

This was actually a step up from the other episodes especially since it has made a 'Star War'ish turn...coincident? I think not with a certain movie arriving on Dec 18th.

Who cares? It's a mini-series. They're telling all the story they want to tell. Being a mini-series or limited series event is cool, because if it bombs, who cares, if it's a hit, ala Under The Dome (at first :D ), it gives you a reason to keep it going even if it wasn't designed this way.

The last few weeks have been awesome, in my opinion. Pissed Quentin was killed off, though.

Damn Right.....

too much emphasis on claire and she is dead in the water. How is that possible? and what purpose does it serve?

Save the cheerleader save the world? is that what they were hinting at? so She had the twins and now she is useless so she is dead? Body gave out?

Being immortal she shouldn't be able to have children... a'la highlander.. why? her body achieved evolutionary advantage and needs no further mutation.

I thought episode 1.7 was the first to recapture some of the heights from the first season of Heroes. Here's my review.

OKay, I've had some very mixed feelings about this show.

Here's a few reactions:

- after the 2nd episode I was convinced they'd learned nothing from last time and had once again gone for too many characters and disparate storylines - which by the time they converge, nobody cares.

- Jack Coleman is carrying the show well, as a de facto main character.

- Teleport Tom is a likeable, if occasionally annoying teen. Not a bad character.

- the whole serial-killer couple thing had its moments, the wife is entertainingly crazy, but the "all of a sudden he has powers thing" is convenient to the point of being dumb. Sure, it's kind of ironic, but sloppily done.

No doubt the crazy wife will show up at the wrong moment and do something that dooms the human race (like shoots one of the
saviour twins.
.

- Great to see Hiro back, probably the only reason a lot of folks watched last week's episode. Definitely the best thing about the show since the very first episode (hated the contrived way they mucked with him and his powers in seasons 3 and 4).

- I liked the video game girl
twist, that she doesn't really exist, instead of a girl who could enter video games, she was a video game character who could enter the real world, neat idea. She'll be back all they need to do is reboot her.

- a shame Quentin
died, although I'm sure they'll use the fact that Phoebe killed him against her in the future

The overall mortality rate is a bit high ( a real problem with season 1, that they would get you invested in a character and then kill them just as they became interesting).
I was gutted by how horribly wasted the Haitian's character was, he was one of the coolest parts of the original series.

I was also sad to see Quentin die so soon ( I was kind of hoping that he was going to turn out to be the big bad guy at the very end, which would have been a neat twist).

- I really like Harris as a villanous henchman, he suits the role, and the power is perfect for the role.

- The whole Claire
died in childbirth is beyond stupid - for the indestructible girl to die of a heart attack.....ridiculous

- the
twins thing with Nathan and Malina was a nice twist, if a bit of a cliche

- all in all, it's better than I thought it would be, but not great ( I give it a 6.5 - 7/10. By comparison the Flash gets 9/10 and Arrow 8/10. Agents of Shield is not my thing).

Sure, it's got good and bad bits - but the good bits are only good, while the bad bits are really stupid.

Just my opinion of course.

Nice twist. Cheap move with Claire. Didn't like that Angelina left it up in the air as to whom will save the world. "One, maybe both?" That could lead to some evil sibling, good sibling non-sense. This episode connected everything nicely. Well, almost everything. There's still that East L.A. story.

Am I the only one that's sick of another season of Heroes where the whole world needs to be saved? Does the stakes have to be so damn high?
I was really hoping for some more personal character driven stories like you see in the Walking dead or Dexter (in it's prime). And more recently with Daredevil. Those shows are exciting and keep you on the edge of your seat without having to deal with epic world changing events every season.

I actually think the Dark Matters web series done a better job at getting me invested in the characters and plot, than any of the heroes seasons (after the first season anyway). Sometimes less is more. The Carlos plot in LA is probably best suited to his standalone webseries imo. I think Michah's hero truther could do well in his own series. It could play out like Mr Robot.

Yea that sums up my thoughts as well. Twist was great. Claire thing was just awkward and silly. Not too upset with Angela's ambiguous prophecy. Heroes always needs a good mystery. As much as I grumble about the show, I'm still rooting for it. I have a horrible feeling the Carlos stuff is just going to be left up in the air or just become a throwaway plot.

I think the bigger issue is that. . . okay, so the world is under threat by giant solar flare o doom. How, exactly, are "air control" and "teleportation" supposed to help with that?

I think she has more than just air control. She seems to have a general control over the elements. Kinda like Captain Planet/The Avatar + Swamp thing. Reviving the butterfly makes me think she seems to have some kind of life giving abilities. This would suggest that after the solar flare, her powers will be able to renew life on earth. I could be wrong though.

I'm going to guess Tommy will be able to supercharge his power to teleport mass groups of people out of harms way. And maybe even into the future?

The sister will attempt to fend off the flares with her power. As for Tommy, teleport the planet to safety?

So darkness sister was forced into this to save her brother, Quintin? So much for that.

Two solid eps in a row. Thats the Heroes I was missing. The season has really picked up now that were used to some of the new characters and some of the old ones have returned.

The plot twist with the babies was pretty cool and it unravels a lot. Claires covered face was kind of lame. Nice to see Hiro do his thing here.

Overall things have taken a much better shape now that the intros to new characters are done and the plot is well established.

dang so Claire is really dead and not coming back? I was hoping she'd make an appearance. Odd not having her considering she was one of the main protagonist of the original series. They werent too subtle with hinting that the two new kids were her children. I guessed it early in the episode as soon as we learned she was pregnant and then they went and told us. How many episodes is this show bc it did kind of feel like they are trying to rush this plot along

So how is Claire dead exactly? Is it because shadow girl was dampening powers when she gave birth and her heart stopped? If so, that is a dumb explanation. Its been established that Claire could be clinically dead (no heart beat, no brain activity) for several hours and can still come back once her power is reactivated. Of course, I wouldn't put it past Kring to simply gloss over this inconvenient fact in the show's mythology and move on (not the first time he has done so).

Also, can someone please just say where Peter Petrelli is? He is basically the Heroes-verse equivalent to Superman and all this bad **** is going down (that his mother is aware is happening) and no one is even mentioning why he is out of play? Just give the audience a throw away line about him being dead or having disappeared or something. I mean, for goodness sake, this could have been overlooked before Angela became directly involved, but at this point it is like a DC comics story where Lois Lane recruits a bunch of inexperienced super heroes but never explains why she isn't just giving her husband Superman a call.
