I think that Voight is worse in some ways because he was supposed to look like a real life person and not a fictional character.

Finally saw X-Men: Apocalypse. I liked it. I think I actually prefer it over DoFP, tbh.

I'm still gonna wait for the home release. I thought DoFP was okay... But it didn't get me psyched for APOCALYPSE and honestly I find Poc boring and uninteresting as a villain. I'm far more interested in seeing Jackman's Logan swan song and DP2.

Well I will say the reason I preferred it to DoFP is because I preferred the newbies. Mystique, Charles, Beast, etc. bore me now. I still like Magneto (and really liked him this one), but I was all about the youngsters - Jean, Cyclops, Quicksilver and Nightcrawler especially. Much more interested in seeing more of them than any more focused on the older cast.

But this movie won't change your opinion on Apocalypse. Oscar did what he could but the writing and aesthetics for that character were just lame as hell. His scenes always dragged the movie down, imo.

I think this might be what I'll end up thinking as well. Some people have told me that they were super excited at the prospect of the younger cast going forward having more of the spotlight.

i'm torn on DoFP. i read the comic years and years ago and it was pretty good.
the x-men are my favorite comic franchise and tbh i haven't been blown away by the movies
