I guess but let's be absolutely honest, nothing really is stopping anyone these days from picking up any comic from any company. Thanks to the internet you can get caught up on any character history or continuity or changes ect. just by looking at sources online. It's why these giant continuity shuffles are mostly unnecessary in my opinion. Things will get adjusted overtime, origins will have to be updated, but this habit of selectively throwing out EVERYTHING only to retell the same origins or stories, establish a new status quo only to junk all that a few years later in a quest for relevance or new readers is self defeating in the end. Young readers know that they can get history via the web and in fact that may be part of the fun, learning all the accumulated history.

Long story short, yeah, you can hop on board now but even with a supposed new "clean slate" or what have you these books are still going to draw on or build off of decades worth of history in some shape or form.

i haven't seen 12 monkeys

i'm torn on DoFP. i read the comic years and years ago and it was pretty good.
the x-men are my favorite comic franchise and tbh i haven't been blown away by the movies

i don't hate them but i guess i built them up so much in my head

I have that same problem with Superman. He's my favorite character and I still just haven't been a real fan of any live-action interpretation of him. They just don't capture all the stuff I love about him in the comics.

I have that same problem with Superman. He's my favorite character and I still just haven't been a real fan of any live-action interpretation of him. They just don't capture all the stuff I love about him in the comics.

When Man of Steel is the best Superman movie, there's a problem. I enjoyed MoS btw.. I thought it was a good jump start. 7/10. But the fact that there's not a better one out there is depressing.
