Not enough crying in that poster.

Ahhh that's better.

Brody dying was a blessing and proved what I've been saying for two seasons. This show is more than Brody. Too bad they wasted two seasons getting to this point. The show is called Homeland. Not The Brody Files. It was about damn time he died.

As for where the show is going, the show had to leave Charlotte due to my less than intelligent governor cutting their tax breaks and they are now filming in South Africa. So Carey is going to be working out of a Middle Eastern CIA branch in season 4. The Brodies are gone for good. No more Dana and her emo teen BS and no more Mrs. Brody.

If they were going to kill Brody, he should have gotten the axe by the end of season 2. Having Brody for 3 seasons essentially turned this show into The Brody Files. And it's jarring.

I agree with you there. Wholeheartedly. They dragged the Brody story on past the sell by date. Here's hoping the new season will be back to what made the show great in season one now that Brody and his love affair with Carrie and family is out of the way. I'm afraid tho that his memory is going to hang around Carrie's neck and in turn the show's neck like a dead albatross. If the show can't get it's self straightened out by the end of this season it might be time to just end it. Or fire the writing staff. Whatever works.

I'm pessimistic to be honest. Unless this next season has phenomenal writing (and I'm talking season 1-esque storytelling), the show is dead in the water. It needs to be so fresh that we barely remember Brody. If not, then it's Dexter all over again, baby.

I hope it won't be THAT bad. :(

I don't like that this show decided to still focus on Carrie. I feel like her story is done after 3rd season. I just don't see her being all too interesting after the first 3 seasons. I think they either should focus more on Saul and Quinn or open this show up to be even more of an ensemble.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an even bigger drop in quality in this show considering Showtime tends to drop the ball on shows after their first 3, 4 seasons (Dexter, Weeds, The L Word).

I am not necessarily excusing the show's writing, as it was bad last season, but Carrie has always been the star. The big mistake was they didn't kill Brody off in Season 2. He was the one who no longer added anything. In theory, this new setting could work, but the last season has left me apathetic and skeptical about its chances in the coming episodes.

Why does everyone hate Brody's season 3 arc? I thought his redemption story was great and full circle and all that.

Ah yes, Carrie with the dim lights in her apartment, drinking white wine and popping pills while listening to stupid jazz music.

The Carrie apparently we deserve.

Brody not being the show means the show is weaker now

Agreed. The character of Brody and Damian Lewis's performance as him were my favourite parts of the show.

I agree that Brody should have been killed off in season 2. That's my problem with the show. Carrie's stories became too tied to Brody and I don't have enough confidence in these writers to make her stories interesting without him. I feel like keeping focus on Carrie limits the scope and potential of the show at this point.

At this point, and given Showtime's history, I see Showtime being Showtime.

Kudos to the Homeland for trolling me hard with [blackout]Corey Stoll[/blackout]. :hehe: I did NOT see that coming. :awesome:

That was a good premier, Carrie being alone with her baby all day was like watching a suspense thriller movie, every scene I expected something bad to happen.

It was nice to have a little nod to Brody but boy am I glad that he is gone.

They really wasted
Corey

I mean, seriously? They were clearly going for the shock factor & subverting expectations, but they really didn't have a better role to offer him? He barely has 8 min screentime or something, such a waste. I'm pissed. Great scene though.

That bathtub scene nearly made me vomit. It was so hard to watch. I'm not saying that as a knock at the show...it is a testament to how effective it was.

Whoever found that baby needs a big bonus. That kid is exactly what a female, baby Brody would look like.

I figured he was going to be a quick in and out. He's busy now working on The Strain.

Well, yeah, obviously, but he's been mentioned as a recurring character, so unless he has flashbacks (he just has the one episode listed on IMDB though), it's a lie.

Well he has to film The Strain after all… :)

You read my mind.

Guess no one saw last night episode because of the walking dead lol

I hope Quinn and Carrie don't become a thing. I just don't get what he sees in her. I understood what Brody saw, she was only one,who saw who he really was.

So the videos of Quinn, Carrie, and that guy who was killed by the mob went viral around the world, viewed by millions, and Quinn was the first person to notice the guy with the headset?

I did. :)

I don't see much chemistry there between them. I actually kinda like Quinn with the fat girl, I thought they were great together. :(
