In my opinion, there should only be one villain. Throwing more than one villain into a film is just too much. The first two Spider-Man movies worked just fine with just one. I see no reason why that can't happen with the fourth.

TRue but lizard is diffiicult to have as the only villain. For that case i would go with two. Also ones like shocker or rhino can`t carry a film. Mysterio would be problematic as well. I think if they can combine the origins then it will be fine for example...

Dr. conners becomes lizard this causes legendary hunter kraven to come to america to hunt the lizard beast. Its simple makes sense.

Or

Adrian toombs becomes the vulture using advanced technology and at some point in an attempt to defeat spidey he uses the same technology to turn mac gargan into scorpion. It explains how both characters receive their scientifically aided powers. Same could apply if you replace scorpion with electro.

But it gets risky when the go the spidey 3 route and have several seperate origins jostling for position...

For instance Lizard and electro would be problematic. You have to have two seperate bizarre accidents happen at the same time.

If you can`t find a way to link the origins of such main villains then you should opt for one villain. Spidey 3 suffered because they had to get the radioactive sandblasting, the symbiont arriving on earth and finding peter and then symbiont finding brock. It made for two many coincidences.

I agree. Focus on Lizard. He's a damn good villain and onn that deserves all the screentime and spotlight on him and him alone.

Kraven, Scorpion, and Shocker would be good minor villains, but that would only take away from Lizzy's screentime, which I'd rather not see.

The Lizard would be amazing to see...and add another trilogy to build up a Sinister Six would be sweet...hopefully number 6 will be much better than 3.
