How much do you really care about X3 being only 103 minutes?

How much do you care about the running time

  • I don't care at all, I know this movie will rock regardless how short.

  • I do perfer a longer running time and i'm a bit dissapointed but its not that big of a deal

  • This sucks, I want this to be the best and last as long as possible, but we will see.

  • This is horrible, its going to totally ruin it for me!

I agree! It seems like the movie will rush into things because of the short running time! In order to keep everyone interested you need to keep it at a steady pace with a bit of eye candy here and there but not the endless action we see in alot of movies (especially Fox films) lately!

I feel if they spend more time emphasising the story and have short but memorable action scenes I might enjoy the movie more! Thats how the previous films were! They focused alot on the characters and their issues and they didn't need over the top action and special effects to tell the story and thats what made the X-men films unique and interesting!

I fear that due to the short running time Fox might inundate us with all these fantastic action scenes, in the hope that it will be enough to keep us happy but it won't 'coz the general public and comic book fans are more intelligent nowadays and want more than that but Fox is too close minded and feel that a short film with tons of eye candy = good film! :down
No. Simon Kinberg has said that the film's action/drama ratio isn't that much more than it was in X2..

LMAO what a sad excuse for butchering the movie runtime....

This is my favorite BS line of all right here.

We made this movie primarily for the established fans, so we didn’t spend a lot of time introducing core characters. As you’ll see, we just dive right into the film,

Yet they have changed almost all of the characters so how exactly without character development are we supposed to know jack about the characters....
I mean the Storm in this movie is not the same lame Storm from the previous movies....
Same goes for Iceman he is changed dramaticly in this movie(ice slids icing up)
Not to mention the fact some mutants are nothing like there comic book counterparts with the same name....

Anyways even though I will see X3 it is looking more and more like FF and I will not reccomending it to anyone else unless it turns out alot better than it is looking now.

He saids they won't be introducing the characters. That doesn't mean the characters won't change and progress through the movie.

With such a time frame and everything that X3 is holding on its own.. it will feel rushed and "most" characters will get the shaft... this sucks big time. :down

i wonder of they deleted some scenes from the official cut that we will be able to see in the dvd? i sure hope they change their minds into making the movie at least 2 hrs long. sighs! :(

Well according to Ratner he only cut about a 30 second scene, and Simon said in his Q&A that the only scene he heard of hat was cut was a transtitional scene.

Yes way to make my point thanks

He said they won't be introducing the characters even the new ones with same comic book names and completely different powers yeh way to make my point about why they neded to add character development on any mutant that they have special effects for.
To bad they are not doing that and it will be a guess fest for what mutant actually used what mutant power.

so it means to say that 1 hr and 43 min is the official length of the movie... :( :( :(

Well at least it means there's less wolverine shoved down my throat.

I think 98 out of 103 is a safe bet ;) (unless they find a way to add him to the credits  Well other than actor-producer-water-boy etc...)

LOL, yeah throughout the credits they'll end up showing wolverine bloopers.

Some people are complaining about character development, that the film will lack and blah blah blah. Do you people remember a woman called Lady Deathstrike? Oh, what about a guy called Cyclops? Those are only some of the characters who didnt get development in X2, a movie that was *counts on fingers* yeah, very long. So please, i am also not that happy with the running time, but we cant say the movie will be bad because of it. Short, wishing it was longer, just for the experience of seeing them onscreen more? yeah, but i dont wanna say it will be bad jut because its short...
i still prefer quality over quantity. If the movie is bad because of short running time, ill be the first to get pissed, but we have to give them a chance, just because no one has seen this movie yet.

If the 103 minutes is true, then, I guess we all have to live with it!!! I'm sick of complaining about it anymore, all I want to do now is see the movie!!

After further editing, it'll be 88 minutes long. And the DVD director's cut will be 144 minutes long. :o :p

Maybe if Sony or some other studio owned the X-men rights they would actually treat it as it is, a huge potential cash cow to be groomed and cared for, like Sony is doing with Spiderman 3, instead of humping it for all its worth until it dies from exhaustion.

I'm disappointed about the running time but this sentence still made me laugh. I never thought of the situation quite like that...:p

I would have voted for the second option, but after reading what Simon wrote about the run time, I chose the first!

By all means...stop whining. This goes for all of you who wanna act diva-ish and want to make some grand, big exit with a 5 paragraph post talking about how you're not happy any more. If you're gonna leave, leave, but if you not, stop complaining because people are mad about the runtime, which is justifiable by the way given fox's track record.

Absolutely 100% the truth.

Rings a bell...
You have a point. The movie being short sucks simply cause I want more x-men.
