The Dark Knight How should be the Batmobile for The Dark Knight?

I liked Burton's batmobile a lot better (except for the penus on the front) but I would rather it just keep the Tumbler for continuity.

In Nolan's Bat-Universe, the Burton-Mobile or Schumacher-Mobile would not work. Although Burton's looked awesome, it's just not as practical as the Tumbler - that can fly on rooftops and can handle any sort of rugged terrain.

A lot of thought went into designing the Tumbler for 'real-world' crime fighting purposes. Can it handle off-road situations? Check Does it look monstrous, rugged & intimidating? Check - The other batmobiles may have looked cool, but they lacked the "Batman-ness" which is being gritty, monstrous, intimidating and unstoppable.

dammit how many times do i have to say it to so many people, if you were out fighting crime what would you prefer? A) a sleek sexy looking machine (burton) B) a gothic looking ***** on wheels (forever) C) a toy car (BnR) or D) a mean ugly tankish destruction machine that can drive fast and can destroy anything in its way (BB).

good point

Originally the batmobile was going to be blown up to take down the monorail but Nolan changed that scene because he fell in love with the tumbler. Makes me think we'll get the same car in The Dark Knight

I really like the tumbler! It reminds me of my favorite Bat-mobile of all...the one from Dark Knight Returns...I'd love to see the BB batmobile in the DK...but maybe, for the progression of the character there could be some modifications...perhaps guns? I don't know...whatever Nolan decides, I'm fine with it

Anything besides the Tumbler, in TDK, and I'll personally castrate myself on live web-cam!

No way! It was ok in begins but wont be for the sequel. After all the "begins"-title was created to clarify that Batman begins to become the Batman we know from the comics including a Batmobile.

Are you insane, you know this (TDK) movie will most likely be a DIRECT sequel to Begins (with maybe, at MOST, a couple of months in between), right? So having a newly designed batmobile would make NO sense what-so-ever.

I like the Tumbler, Burton's batmobile worked in his Gothic somewhat '30/40s looking unvierse, Schumaker's Batmobiles just sucked (no neon!!!). The tumbler works in Nolan's universe though, if they did go with a redesign though, use an all black version of the batmobile in The Batman cartoon series.

Actually, TDK will probably take place a year after the events in Begins to cover for Wayne Manor being built and completed again as well as the Batcave being improved and updated.

Hey, I love the Tumbler too, but I always consider it, as well as most of the other equipment (including the suit) as protoypes in 'Begins'.

Changing the look of it a little here or there to reflect the Bat insigna wouldn't hurt it a bit and would make more sense as Batman progress in his crimefighting.

Do you think the Batcave is going to look the same in TDK as Begins? Of course not. He will add his compupter and stuff in it and proboly a different opening for the Batmobile then jumping through a waterfall.

Change is good.

Well for one he should finally get those cables to work and we should see it in action.

As for the Tumbler itself, it looks like Batman's driving a frame. As cool as it was, I say it needs a shell. That's it. That way it would still be able to do everything that it does. Fins on the back and all but not gigantic.

I didn't even think about the manor, good point!

How do you know the manor will be complete at the beginning of the movie, though? Anyways, Wayne is loaded; he can afford the man-power to have the manor and cave rebuilt pretty quickly, and discretely. How's he going to be Batman in the year prior to the cave being rebuilt, wouldn't it be safer, for his ID and all to do it as quickly as possible.

I guess he could store the Tumbler at Wayne Enterprises...

I think the Batmobile should have structure of the 89 batmobile butthey should make it a lot like the tumbler.

Hell, Nolan and his team probably already have the designs for the batmobile and there keeping a secret.

The only thing I would change is spray paint a Bat-logo on the hood.
