The Amazing Spider-Man 2 How should the Goblin look???

Really depends on the shade and the way it's used. Maybe he shouldn't be dressed like in the comics, but there's no reason why the color itself wouldn't work. Goblin's Glider was even purple in Raimi's Movie, so why couldn't he have it somewhere on his suit? Like completely green armor doesn't already look weird enough.

This shade of purple would work just fine.

Alright, after having seen the HD trailer, Harry better be the Proto-Goblin. There was barely any green on him. At most, it looks like he's got some kind of rash, if even that.

Yeah, he should look like a freaking Goblin.

I still think that Norman will be the ultimate (no pun intended Goblin). I seriously doubt that he's going to be a frail old man for this entire film series.

I'll say this at least his hair looks more goblin-esque than previous interpretations.

As for the suit, I kind hate and like it. I enjoy the bare bones look, with few armored sections but mostly it's a body suit. But I hate that I know it's basically just an unfinished "Iron Man" suit, as you can see with his right arm.

Well yeah, you're right it's probably not gonna make a huge difference. But from what I learned in my marketing course (which is actually not much :(), a company should always try their best to satisfy their consumers. In this case, adding some purple to the costume probably won't hurt very much.

Of course, fanboys make a small percentage of the general audience (like what, 10%?). It's pretty obvious that the target audience is not JUST fan boys, but also people who are watching super hero movies now. but that 10% could mean 4.4 million dollars of gross profit to the company (according to wiki, it grossed 40.4mil in August 2012). I really don't think adding some purple would be that hard. Some fans would boycott the movie because of the lack of homage to the comics.

Some people boycotted the first one because the costume was different. I personally, would never do it. But there are people like that out there and it won't hurt for Sony to just appeal to them every now and then, especially when it comes to an important character like the Green Goblin

EDIT: but yeah, you're completely right. My main concern was the face, until I saw the poster. I have no complaints there.

If you start tailoring your movies to fans, simply for the sake of fan service, then your film is doomed. It's easy to make a flick for the GA, because it's mostly just about making an entertaining film. Fans are a different, extremely fickle beast.

I'd rather Webb just do what he wants and make HIS film. Has anyone ever considered that maybe he just didn't want any purple? Or that maybe we're not looking at the GG here. I'm sure some of you have, I just don't feel like reading through all of these posts haha.

I hope this gets the same amount of backlash as the "Power Rangers" suit did, if not only because this is a billion times worse.

Now he'll just be called an Iron Man knock-off.

Armor existed before Iron Man guys. Just saying. :yay:

Oh, ok, then he looks like random armor dude. There. Better?

The greenish armor reminds me of the suits from Halo more than Iron Man.

I'm sorry but the Harry Goblin looks like ****. He looks like New Goblin from Spider-Man 3 without a mask and with a new glider, bluetooth headset, and spiked up hair.

Actually, the Goblin suit looks much more like Zod's armor from MOS to me. Also, I think that the suit is a prototype, and that the design will change/evolve as the films progress.

I don't want any purple on the Goblin. I can't see any reason for him to wear a purple hat and vest, as well as a purse full of pumpkin bombs. It works for the comic books, but on screen… I doubt it.
I can....he's crazy. Doesn't need much more explanation than that. You can see crazy people in the real world wear far more sillier things....just visit New York or Philadelphia.

That's only because the suit is unfinished. If it's gets completely plated, like his right arm there, it's not gonna look much like Zod's suit at all.

Except we don't know yet how "crazy" he will be in this films, or what form it will take. He could just be really ruthless/brutal/and sadistic.

I like the look of the scientific rivalry between Peter and Harry and I don't mind the armored suit, but the fact his hair is just spiked up as opposed to having a proper mask is disappointing. However I am just grateful he isn't a big slobbering CGI monster.
