The Dark Knight How should this movie begin?

I think it should begin with a crime happening, show some thugs robbing a bank at night, there's like 4 of them in the bank, there talking to each other, all a sudden one of them dissapears..... fight ensues....

I like this, one of the risks they took in batman begins was holding off on showing batman until so late in the movie. i think in the sequel we could see the whole sequence of crime happening, and batman is introduced and we get a big action sequence to start off the movie, in a pure sequel fashion.

my thoughts exactly.... batman ties them up and triggers the alarm purposely, the cops show up and find the criminals hanging and tied up..... Gordon's there, he's got a smug look on his face, he know's who caught the crooks but he doesn't say anything....

and i would love it to see the whole sequence of batman retreating to the batcave, taking off his mask, his makeup, getting dressed and going back to the hot date he left in the living room

"that was a long bathroom break!"

HAHA!

i think it would be pretty obvious who caught them. i dont think jim would have anything to hide except that he is in contact with batman.

Joker (not as himself yet) but as just a crazy person robbing and possibly sexually assaulting someone. yeah! dark.

Jack Napier? Who is Jack Napier?

The final scene in Batman Begins makes it seem if the Joker has already been made - no need to show how he was created.
really!? i didn't get that feeling at all. i got the feeling that he was just a crazy (pre Joker mishap) that had a "flair for the dramatics". ooo, i can't WAIT til the pursuit ensues and then Heaths sweet face gets sizzled into the Joker. yay-yuh.

I'd love if it started with a spectacular action scene where Batman catches a criminal or something.Or they could do something more moody with Bruce visiting his parents grave at night.

Batman (atleast Nolan's) doesnt seem to be too interested in petty thieves and I agree with this notion.
It will just make his plight seem paltry.
If they do start with an action scene I think it should be a significant one that is setting up a major villian perhaps something to do with the mafia angle. Like the drug cargo bust in BB, but without the villian in attendance.

I'd like to see an establishing shot of the new look Wayne Manor relocated close to the Batcave of course.
I also like this idea :)

But my true preference to the opening shot would have to be Batman naked in the batcave bathing in the waterfall. Thats right, I said it...

I've actually written my own fan fiction story on this sequel on another forum.

I think I have a different vision on it, compared to you lot. Anybody wanna' see the fan fic I've wrote??
I do Macca, if you dont mind :D

some flashback that has a meaning to the message of the movie

Bruce visiting his parents grave on the Wayne Manor grounds, an action sequence that involves one of the villians, or a batsignal shot then Batman and Gordon talking about the Joker.......

Here is my take guys.

Darkness.

Voice (O.S):
I love the smell of the Narrows don't you? I don't know what it is, but it's intoxicating. Each breath you take makes you feel...alive. You and your little friend have been busy havn't you?
BOOM. A light is turned on. AND WE ARE IN:

Int. Warehouse - Night.

The ware house is old and abandoned. The rotten smell and fumes from the nearby sewers fill the room. In a dark corner of the warehouse, we see a man (JACK NAPIER) standing over a woman (RACHEL DAWES), who is tied to a chair. Her dark hair is filled with blood and sweat, and she can barely sit up staright in the chair. Jack is wearing a long dark coat, a hat and is smoking a cigarrette. He walks over to Rachel, and kneels down in front of her.
Jack:
It's a shame, a beautiful woman like yourself has to end her life this way.
Jacks blows smoke in her face, and pulls her hair behind her ears.
Jack:
I can't even imagine the pain your in. What my men did to you... well it's a miricale that your're even alive.
Rachel looks him in the eyes.
Rachel:
It... It doesn't matter what you do to me... he'll find me.
Jack puts his mouth beside Rachel's ear.
Jack:
I know he will Miss Dawes... In fact I'm counting on it.
Jack gets up, and walks away from Rachel. As he walks away from her he pulls out a little remote and pushes the button.

LATER...

Ext. Warehouse - Night.

High above the city a dark figure is engolfed in the shadows. The sound of a cape billowing is the only sound we hear. TILT UP. We see BATMAN, crouched in the shadows, looking at the warehouse from high above the city. His eyes are burning with rage. He rises untill...WUFF. He throws himself of the ledge and into the night.

Int. Warehouse - Night.

Rachel is still tied to the chair, but she is more weakened than before. Her breathing is raspy and a puddle of blood has gather by the foot of the chair. BANG. Batman comes smashing though the roof windows and lands beside Rachel. He grabs Rachel.
Batman:
Rachel.
Rachel looks at him with teary eyes.
Rachel:
...Bruce?

Batman:
I'm here Rachel...I'm here. It's gonna be alright.
Batman tries to lift Rachel, but sge screams in agony.
Rachel:
My...my neck.
Batman pulls the blood hair in the neck away and reveals the BOMB, that has been surgicly operated into her neck. It reads ONE MINUTE.
Rachel:
Leave me... You have to leave me.
Batman looks at Rachel.
Batman:
No there's time I can still...

Rachel:
I love you Bruce.
Batman looks tearfully at Rachel. He takes off his cowl and reveals his face to the only person he has ever loved. Rachel give him a little smile.
Bruce:
I...I love you to.

Rachel:
Then leave me. This city is more important than me. Leave me Bruce. There isn't much time...Hurry.
Bruce puts on his cowl and takes the magnetic gun and fires it towards the roof of the warehouse. He looks one last time at Rachel.
Batman:
I'm sorry Rachel. I...

Rachel:
Don't...
WUSS. Batman is lifted from the gorund. The timer reads TEN SECONDS.

Ext. Sky scaper - Gotham - Night (continued).

Jack Napier is lookking at the warehouse from a beatifull skyscaper in the city of GOTHAM. He's is smoking on a cigarette. BOOM. The Warehouse explodes. As the warehouse is burned to the ground ZOOM IN on Jack's smilling face. Jack laughs. His Laughter sounds so meanizing and it would send chills down the backs of any who heard it. CONTINUE TO ZOOM IN ON HIS EYES UNTILL.

DARKNESS.

Jack's laugh still echoes in the night.

Tell me what you think guys.

Not bad but Jack Napier doesn't exist, and since that character was made up for the 1989 film, we won't be seeing him.

starts: batman, crouched up high on a ledge far up a highrise in the rain, at night. the camera zooms in slowly for about a minute on him. we hear what he's listening to- thugs across the way in another highrise, scheming. he studies their conversation, takes some photos. then, silently, he jumps off the ledge and falls silently into the black night below.

I say open with an origin for the Joker, then follow it up with Katie Holmes being Joker gassed.

Hey guys dont forget tonight is Bale VS Adam West on MTV's Celebrity Death Match.

Jack Napier should never be mentioned in another Batman film - period. He was a creation of Tim Burton.

Also, if the Joker is not the Joker yet, and simply some crazed killer using a Joker as a calling card, I will be pissed.:down That would be horrible.

I never get these threads. The movie should begin however it best suits the story. Same way it should end. Since we don't know the story, these threads are pretty hard to answer. I could say "An action sequence in which Joker is created", but if Joker isn't created until later in the story, it doesn't really make much sense, now does it?

I dont think any of us believe we actually have a say or are right about how the sequel will begin JLBats.
I see it as fun speculation.

I'd begin it with a scene of the Scarecrow committing some sorta crime. Maybe a bank robbery with a few other various 'thugs' who aren't just muscle.

After some talking he does, and some showy things maybe harrassing someone inside the bank, and getting ready to leave, the GCPD shows up outside. The Scarecrow tries to leave, but a swat team takes him down and you see him shoved into the back of a patrol car and driven off. The shot pans up along the buildings to see Batman crouched on the roof of a building, shoots the grapple and swings off.

The shot continues to pan up and stops on the sky, and bats begin filling the screen, showing the symbol and maybe the title of the movie. When the bats are off the screen its now Gordon standing on the roof.

"Thanks for the tip. You're really doing a good job at making us look good." Gordon says.

And then batman steps from the shadows, and they continue to discuss how Batman has been giving Gordon a lot of tips and help and such, giving the police department a lot of good media. And...eventually they talk more about the Joker or something.
