The Dark Knight How should this movie begin?

I think something of a nod to the beginning of B89 would be cool.

Yeah, That would be great. I also like the idea of an Action sequence. Maybe a flashback of Joker turning in to Joker. I would love a flashback describing the Joker event and also reveling that Batman was there. I doubt that will happen, but I can dream.

I think starting with an action sequence is a bad idea for this film.

If they bring Scarecrow back Im hoping for the more menacing insane comic book scarecrow this time.
It could easily make sense because of the way he went down in BB.
Scarring and/or disfigurement due to the electrical shock while he had his mask on ect.

To watch him go down like a wimp again would just be too much for me...

Also, if the Joker is not the Joker yet, and simply some crazed killer using a Joker as a calling card, I will be pissed.:down That would be horrible.
but don't you agree that people are going to want to see how the Joker becomes the Joker!? the public is going to want to see him fall into a vat of acid and have his face burned to crap! it's just the American way! it should at least be part of a flashback sequence.

Not really. I think no backstory ads to the mystery of the character. Also, it wasn't acid, it was unnamed chemicals. If it was acid, he'd probably be dead or severly burned. It was probably mostly bleach and dyes.

The sequel starts off where see the newly rebuilt mansion Alfred opens the doors the camera turns around its Bruce Wayne he's heading to the southeast corner of the masnion that's the part of the mansion what Bruce and Alfred where talking about in BB near the end of the movie. So Bruce opens the doors to the piano or is it something else to open the secret passage way to the batcave. As he descends we see the new batcave.

That's one and here's another

Batman is over looking Arkham Asylum where we see Salvatore Maroni enter the building with his thugs seconds later we here gunshots Maroni and his thugs plus one more speed threw the narrows Batman leaps down where we see the new batmobile or it could be the tumbler who knows.

But that's it all I have to say is that mine was terrible.

I would start with the WB logo, followed by the swarming bats...

Then show brief clips from BB (Ala Superman II) with titles superimposed over them...

Only, when we get to the bit where Ra's released the fear toxin in the Narrows, then i would show quick, brief clips of the Joker character, being exposed to the stuff and looking up to see Batman flying overhead...

Just wondering are you Twisted Bat over at the Blue Tights forum?

But we don't know much of anything else about the film. I think it is a little early to judge whether it will be bad to start with an action sequence. I think people are going to want to see the Joker's origin. I guess we could have flashbacks like we had with Batman in the first movie.

Maybe it should start with Bruce telling Fox to tell him everything he knows about science and all that stuff because they never really touched up on that aspect.

How about this?

Have Danny Elfman's Batman theme going and we see Bruce Wayne and Alfred attending a funeral as Bruce Wayne moves aside we see the the tombstone and there we read Rachel Dawes name. The the camera goes to Bruce where he is sheading tears as he makes his way to his car he gets in and there we see the Gotham Globe and on the front there is Rachel Dawes picture and the headline reading Rachel Dawes Murdered and on a different column we read that it was one of Slavatore Maroni's men. As Bruce arrives to his newly rebuilt mansion Bruce enters his home makes his way to southeast corner of the mansion where the batcave is located he shuts the doors behind and there we see Bruce and Alfred decent down to the upgraded batcave.

What do you think!

Something that shows the Tint of the movie.
Begins the tint was Orange *the posters all had an orange background, the bat scene had a orange background, and gotham had an orangish tint to it*

This movie will probally have a new Tint.

I have about a 100 things I'd like to see in this movie but I have no idea where to put them or how to make them flow into a story, and it seems to me the story is what lends its self to the opening. Be it Bruce with a flash-back, and early capture of the Joker, or some random act of violence being stopped, it has to make sense within the realm of the movie.

Well the more I think about the story and how we left off before, the more I think we have something like this:

Batman lands on the roof of a building begins searching for victims, takes some fire from goons, and ultimately finds himself face to face with the Joker.

There's some witty remarks by Joker but Batman just stonewalls him. Then the battle begins.

Batman leaves the Joker to the Police who take him off to Arkham.

 :( :down

I thought Joker would appear after 45 mins of the movie.

I dont want to see Joker as The Joker until the end of the movie or not at all if he is going to be the main villian.
They set him up as a possible villian in BB, this one should include his origin and the final should include The Joker as the main threat and final battle.

I just dont want to fall into the realm of Bats '89. The Joker's origin isnt as important as a good Batman Movie. If it opens like that and then they can show him in Arkham with Harley Quinn and some of her origin. After which they can movie into Penguin territory then leave a real Joker filled movie till #3. Based on what we know of Two-Face, Penguin, and Joker there's an awful lot going on in this one. Not to mention any re-appearance of Scarecrow or Ras

Somewhat like the first started.

The bat logo is formed by bats, then the screen is overtaken by bats and cuts to crooks running (like it opened with Young Bruce running) as he's being hunted by Batman. The guy could be working for the Joker, for Falcone, Maroni, whoever.

well la dee da! so you're telling me Joker fell into an industrial washing machine?!? ha! i would DEFINITELY want to see that! does that mean that he naturally smells like Downy dryer sheets forevermore?!
and allz i know is that every single person who saw this Batman said "woah! it was super cool to get to see how Batman becomes Batman!". people like the whole "process". why deny the people the process of Joker falling into the rinse cycle?

I would llike to see it open with Batman captuing the Scarecrow even just for the mere fact that hopefully Cillian Murphy will reprise his role.

He was really good in BB.

WB logo - turns grainy, like a TV transmission, fades to:

Close up shot of Bruce reclining on a sofa in Wayne Manor, a glass of wine in his hand. Along the edge of the screen are GTV insignia and a subtitle saying 'exclusive interview'

VESPER FAIRCHILD: So, Bruce, tell me all about this fabulous refurbishment

BRUCE: Oh, what, all of this? (gestures with same hand he is holding the wine, some spilling), Alfred picked the colours. He's good at that sort of thing...

VESPER: Is it true that you spent over $35 million rebuilding Wayne Manor
Cut to an exterior shot of Wayne Manor during the rebuilding, stock footage of workmen and machinery, then back to...

BRUCE: Something like that. You'd better ask my accountant, he's good with numbers

VESPER: So no more wild parties for a while Bruce?
Jump cut flashback to fighting Ra's, the manor on fire

BRUCE: (with a sly smile) But what else would I do with my evenings?
Jump cut to 15 seconds of Batman fighting some random street punks - fast, choppy, brutal, like in BB

Cut back to TV show

VESPER: Well I'm sure a man like you can afford it Bruce! Thanks for showing us around your home. (turning to camera) This is Vesper Fairchild for Gotham TV News

Cut to the double doors of study being opened by Alfred. The footage is now in normal 'cinema' quality. Alfred picks his way through the camera crew and cables and walks over to Bruce.

ALFRED: I take it sir that your 15 minutes of are up

BRUCE: (slurred) Vesper, this Alfred. Alfred this is Vesper...

VESPER: Oh, we've already met...

Bruce winks at Alfred, attempts to get to his feet, but sways towards the floor. Alfred catches his arm and steadies him. Bruce's wine glass rolls across the rug.

Alfred gives Vesper a knowing and apologetic smile.

ALFRED: I think that's about all for today Ms Fairchild. I'll send some of the staff to help you and your crew with your things.

Alfred lifts Bruce up by his arm and, taking his weight, guides him out of the study

Cut back to Vesper, shaking her head slightly in amazement.

CREW MEMBER: (wrapping up cables) Jeez, it's only 11am.

Study doors clunk shut

Cut to ALFRED and BRUCE in the darkened hallway. Immediately Bruce straightens upright, detaches himself from Alfred and removes the paisley dressing gown. He is wearing jogging pants and t-shirt. He walks purposefully towards a grandfather clock - Alfred follows a few steps behind, picking up the discarded robe –

ALFRED: (sardonically) I take it the club soda can be returned to its original container now Master Bruce?

Bruce ignores him and activates a hidden switch in teh grandfather clock

BRUCE: (muttering to himself) £35 million. Not even close

The grandfather clock slides away to reveal a small, chrome sided lift. The two men enter.

Cut to descending shot of the Batcave. Equipment covers the floor of the cave. It is dark, but areas are picked out by gantry flooring and strip lighting. A large computer is lit by spotlight, flicking to life as the lift opens, Bruce and Alfred stepping into a gym area. Bruce immediately starts a routine on some gymnastic equipment.

Alfred activates the computer. The huge screen fills with an image of the Joker playing card from the end of BB, before shrinking to a flashing icon on a map of Gotham, populated by other icons and photographs representing the major players in the underworld..

After that, Alfred and Bruce could have a short conversation about the shifting powers in Gotham, how Batman has shaken things up… all while Bruce working is out… explain Rachel Dawes absence, bring in Harvey Dent etc

What you all think?

really!? i didn't get that feeling at all. i got the feeling that he was just a crazy (pre Joker mishap) that had a "flair for the dramatics".
the implication was that the Joker already exists. i don't remember his exact words, but Gordon said something about escalation and one-up-manship.
