How will Thor be adapated?

I think that, at least for the Avengers version, they will use the Ultimate Thor.
I DO NOT want that Thor. I want the God of THunder, not a drunken, axe-wielding hippie wearing a torso Lite-Brite. I want him to look like Thor & act like Thor, and talk like Thor! I'd feel so cheated if I didn't hear "Have at thee!" at least once.

I'm interesting in knowing how S.H.I.E.L.D will recruit him for the Avengers.

I would rather the Avengers start off as their own entity, not answerable to SHIELD or anyone else.

Not gonna happen. In the MarvelMovieVerse, it's already established that the "Avengers Initiative" was started by S.H.I.E.L.D. and has connections with the military (General Ross).

I don't remember them saying that.

Yeah I don't care for the hippie ecologist activist either

Sorry. FOrgot the ecologist activist part. Anyways, that is not Thor. I hate the Ultimates b/c nothing that I love about the Avengers is present in the title. They're just a bunch of a-holes with no noble or heroic traits whatsoever.

You know it's a shame you can't copyright that idea! you do realize that the script is still being written. You would be surprised were some of the best ideas come from. Its just a matter of who gets there first(LOL)

LOL... damn... it would both be very cool, and totally suck if someone on the inside of the movie caught this thread, and picked up on the ideas that I posted... and they made them onto the big screen in some way.

Cool - In that the ideas were proven to be something that that the brass likes and that made it into a film. :woot:

Totally sucks - In that someone else benefitted outright, and I just get to see it at the theatre. :csad:

I don't remember them saying that.

I think that the scene after the IM credits, coupled with the meeting between Ross and Stark in the epilogue of TIH, pretty much established that.

Implied is not directly stated. And I never saw the scene after the Iron Man credits.
Plus, in the scene between Stark & Ross, Stark did say that he thought the super-soldier program was a bad idea. He indicated that tampering with genetics would only lead to disaster, & tech was the way to go. How does that equate to creating the Avengers, which are headed by the FIRST super-soldier, & predominantly superhuman, w/Iron Man as the ONLY tech hero on the team? The conversation led me to think he was referring to the Hulkbusters.

And I never saw the scene after the Iron Man credits.

This is really where it all stems from... From the post-credit IM scene:

Nick Fury: [quoting Tony Stark from his press conference] "I am Iron Man." You think you're the only superhero in the world? Mr. Stark, you've become part of a bigger universe. You just don't know it yet.

Tony Stark: Who the hell are you?

Nick Fury: Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Tony Stark: [nonchalantly] Ah.

Nick Fury: I'm here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative.

And in TIH... Stark says to Ross, we are forming a team... Ross says, who's we??? Tony looks at him incredulously...

It could be a reference to helping stop the Hulk via a Hulkbusters team... I can see that interpretation... But it seemed like the banter about SSS v. hardware, was just that, "banter", and they really want to find Banner for broader purposes.
