How will Thor fly?

Thor needs to fly... I personally think it would be awesome to see him use Mjolnir just to propel him, then sort of cut it out when he wants to land. Giving it kind of a Hulk leap feel to it. He shouldn't be able to change directions and such like Superman though, IMO

Nah, he should be able to fly similar to how Supes does. None of that "faster than light" crap of course.

....Thor HAS flown faster than light tho. lol

lol WHY to ME it would be in Thor's nature to be able to travel that fast being able to control Lightning. lol

hehehe I pickin' on ya WC lol

Technically in Bifrost they ALL travel faster than light.

Okay, but it looks dumb and doesn't make any sense...

No more dumb than Superman doing it. Or any of the vast number of flying Superheroes.

How doesn't it "make sense"? It makes as much sense as ANY hero flying.

Yes but they should NEED Bifrost to do it. I could maybe see Odin being able to since he possesses the Odinforce, making him nigh unto an actual God.

Its my preference, but I don't like the implications of faster than light travel. I think they should leave that to "Cosmic" level beings. Galactus, Death, etc.

Yeah But I would think if Thor flew that fast he'd need to use Mjolnir to do it. After all Mjolnir is supposed to be the most powerful Asgardian weapon.
I'm sure we won't see that kind of flying in the first film though.

Cause in comics, Thor uses his hammer to travel through the air, light as a feather.. but if he needs to change directions, he may be a little SOL...

Sorry, I figured you knew how it worked with the comic character upon who's board you are posting on... my mistake...

Well now you're just splitting hairs and not making any sense...

No need to be a jack *** either way.

Thor doesn't ALWAYS fly using only his hammer. He's been depicted many different ways over the years. I prefer that he just fly, no fuss no crap. I also think it would work best for the movie. I'm fine with it if he has to use the hammer though.

Calm down.. Just thinking logically.... He usually uses his hammer to fly... Instruct me otherwise please...

I'm not upset or bothered, just speaking my mind.

Theres nothing to instruct you about really, its my preference. I'm not claiming thats how he always flies in the comic or anything. He's been depicted at times being able to fly of his own accord and I prefer that. I also know thats not how he flew most of the time. I'm not against other methods, its just the one I prefer.

He spun it around and flew by holding on for a large portion of his history too, but I think that wouldn't look as good on film and would limit the action scene potential by establishing that as a limitation.

Its not like he ever puts his Hammer down anyway. I like the idea of him being able to throw Mjolnir while in the air, soar over and bust some heads and catch it in stride.

You don't have to claim anything... That IS how he flies...

Please don't go out of your way to prove how he flies around independently... that is how most Thor fans think of his flying ability...

Believe it or not, he doesn't usually fly into the air, chuck his hammer at someone, catch it, and fly back down to earth...

Your talking to a strawman. I've already mentioned all of this. Notice the bold words.

Your the one acting as if I am claiming something i'm not. All I was ever saying is what i'd like to see in the movie.

How the hell can I "prove" what I prefer? Thats a ridiculous thing to say. Theres nothing to prove. Your just being overly argumentative for some reason.

Who the hell said he did? What parts of "I prefer", "I like the idea", etc. aren't you getting? Quit attributing absolutism to what i'm clearly stating as my preference and what i'd like to see in the movie, which isn't tied to every detail of comic cannon.

Jesus your a snarky buzzkill man. The rest of us were having a normal conversation about the movie. I've seen that other people are calling you on it too. Let it go and converse with some fellow fans about the movie rather than the passive-aggressive arguing.

Nah, I'm just trying to keep Thor as he's been and not Thor (apparently) how you want him in the movie.

And it's HILARIOUSLY hypocritical that you are arguing so hard for how YOU want things to be... but when I call for things to be faithful to the comics, I'm the jerk...

And look up the definition of passive aggressive... I'm far from that. I'm aggressive, and I'll call bullsh** on you, get used to it.

I'm not getting involved or anything, but most people are pretty aggressive on the internet since there's no real consequences for what you say (especially youtube).

Well, Thor usually open portals to travel through space-time. That beats lightspeed flying any day. :D

True that,
Btw, I see your avatar is the same pic I use on the Alvaro boards.
Cool!:word:

Well that's the thing with the internet... everybody has an opinion and a voice... if you don't like it, you can argue it, but you can't shut it up unless you or they go too far...

But that's also why message boards like this are so important... we need to be able to debate all of this...

Nice, I just love the depiction of Thor in the pic I used for my avatar. I hope he's portrayed somewhat older like that in the 3rd film, after possibly taking over Odin's position as King.
