How would YOU reboot the Fantastic 4?

I mentioned earlier that Sue could be a CEO. What if she's a Steve Jobs/Elon Musk type entrepeneur who has the vision and is financing the expedition? That would work for me.

Id rather see johnny as a kid. Worked pretty well for the new Spidey. Plus, I need a Spidey/Torch team up movie in my life! As for why Johnny would be on the ship, why not something like the teacher (in this case student) in space program from the 80s?

I think Johnny would work best as a college-aged kid. You could still see a Peter/Johnny friendship with Johnny being like a big brother figure to Peter.

Yeah all of this could work but at the same time Fantastic Four are still with FOX and FOX still have the rights which they haven't given up nor do I think that they would unless Disney/Marvel forked up the cash to get them

Fox is not going to start another FF film in the next 6 years. If they don't start another FF film in 6 years, Marvel will get the rights (if they don't already have them).

Yes you do bring up an interesting point if Fox doesn't reboot The Fantastic Four for the next few years then rights could go to Disney/Marvel but at the same time though how then would the Fantastic Four fit into the MCU especially since Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 are approaching? Then there's no room for The Fantastic Four to show up you see what I'm saying

This is why . . . (and we've discussed this at length on other threads), many of us are confident Marvel either has the rights or soon will.

Since Fox almost certainly won't make another FF film before the reversion date, the only value the rights have to them is as a bargaining chip. But the value of that bargaining chip is set solely by what Marvel is willing to pay.

So the rights only have value if there will be some sort of deal.

I believe Marvel would like to get the rights sooner rather than later for the reasons you state - so they can get started and introduce the characters in Infinity Wars. And Fox would like to deal the rights sooner rather than later because the longer they hold on to them, the less value they have.

So you have two companies motivated to make a deal sooner rather than later. And that leads me to believe a deal will happen sooner rather than later (if it hasn't already happened).

Plus if you introduce them in Infinity Wars if the rights do revert back to Marvel then you could set them up to have their own solo franchise under the Disney MCU umbrella or even have them as permanent fixtures in the Avengers lineup

Marvel: Give us the rights sooner. Not only will be better for us, but it will be more of a bargaining chip for you rather than waiting until the reversion date. It's in your best interest.

Fox: That makes perfect business sense! But what do you take us for? Businessmen? We must ignore that and try to make another movie within 6 years! What is Kinberg doing these days?

:o

I would avoid the origin story completely, similar to how Spider-Man was handled in Civil War. Make the main villain Molecule Man who seeks to create expedite the expansion of the human race to other habitual planets, but sees humanity's current form as a hindrance to its overall ability to grow. It would allow the FF to get off of Earth, face a new villain that challenges them on a physical and emotional level, and it brings philosophical questions that can be explored scientifically. There can be nods to Galactus and Doom, but leave them out of the movie completely.

However Doom is brought in, he needs to be shown as the Earth based Thanos...that can ultimately take on intergalactic threats in time...first set him up as Latveria's ruler, would-be world conquerer, etc....then let his power base grow to where he feels he can take on Galactus and eventually Beyonder's usurper of power....

A perfect approach to a Disney MCU Fantastic Four reboot but instead of Molecule Man as the villain for the solo reboot I would go with Devos The Devastator or even Mole Man or the Super Skrull

- Set in the MCU
- The Fantastic Four are living and working out of the Baxter Building in NYC
- Movie begins with 4 already with powers (origin shown via flashbacks)
- Fantastic Four have their powers, but are not public yet

Plot:

Reed Richards is one of the world's leading minds and continually explores and pushes the boundaries of science with his team: wife, Susan Storm and her brother Johnny, and best friend Ben Grimm.

When a cosmic anomaly with similiar readings to the storm that gave the FF their abilities is detected in Eastern Europe, the team explore.

There, the FF meet the Latverian dictator Dr. Doom, his doombots and uncover a plot of cosmic proportions (insert Silver Surfer, Galactus references / appearances, etc.)

Not bad. But I wouldn't wanna see Doom in the first film

A perfect cast but for the roles of Sue and Johnny I would go with Alice Eve and Dylan O'Brien but as for the rest of your cast...perfect especially Rami Malek as Norrin Radd/Silver Surfer and Luke Evans as Namor

Given the lack of diversity in that cast list, I'd make some changes...

John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards
Blake Lively as Sue Storm
Armie Hammer as Johnny Storm
Oscar Isaac as Ben Grimm
Benicio Del Toro as Namor
Idris Elba or Irrfan Khan as The Puppet Master

6'5" Armie Hammer as Johnny Storm? And a much shorter Oscar Isaac?

Do we really need a Human Torch who is taller than Thor, and everyone else in the MCU?

And Benicio Del Toro is already the Collector in GOTG.

I don't see how an actor's height is a problem. Tom Hardy is 5'6 yet they made him look he towered 6'2 Christian Bale. Also, Oscar Isaac being Ben Grimm then becoming a massive Thing, would be a more interesting evolution than an already tall guy being covered in rocks. Finally, this was a reboot scenario, I didn't say this would be MCU branded.

So not only do they need to use camera tricks to make Armie Hammer seem shorter, but they'll have to use make up and CGI to make him seem younger too? It's not like he remotely looks like a teen or even someone in his early 20s. Seems a lot of trouble to go through when they could just cast a more appropriate actor.

I think it's too late to have them in the MCU in any meaningful way. It could still be in MCU I guess, depending on what happens in mcu in the next couple years. It would only be in the mcu in a technical way (ie: it could technically be in mcu but it wouldn't truly matter)

As long as it's not the same old boring story as the previous two. 4 people get superpowers (origin) and then fight dr doom. ZZZZZZ. Do it like The Incredible Hulk where the origin happened before hand, since we got the gist of it from the previous 2 origin F4 movies.

I don't understand why they need to make an early adult FF. They could easily pick-up where they've been a team for a few years, which wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

My current picks for an MCU FF cast:

Mr. Fantastic- Andrew Garfield
Invisible Woman- Teresa Palmer
Human Torch- Charlie Rowe
The Thing- Seth Rogen
Mole Man- Jack Black
Dr. Doom- Jake Gyllenhaal

Y'know, if they were to reboot the Fantastic Four again I would love to see them use the costumes from the Ultimate series.

I'd like their uniform to be something like their current look

I think the square logo works better than the circle one.
