How would YOU reboot the Fantastic 4?

I'm not really a fan of the idea of them starting out in the 60's and then somehow reappearing in the present day. Just doesn't seem necessary to me. And I think the current state-of-affairs in the MCU does provide a good way to introduce the FF right into the present day. All the experience Earth in that universe has had with aliens is a perfect set-up for renewed interest in space exploration, and Reed Richards would be the guy to do it.

As for the film itself, I'd only focus on their origin at a minimal detail. Start off with them only recently have gotten their powers and show the origin a little bit, but avoid making the plot a full fledged origin story like '05 and Trank films were. I'd use Mole Man as the villain and save Dr. Doom for a sequel or an Avengers film.

Yeah, I think something very similar to a fleshed out version of FF #1 would work. Here are some amazing people, here's a quick summary of how they got that way, now the story is really about these mysterious monsters. They investigate, face numerous dangers and trials as they explore subterranea and eventually find The Mole Man is behind it all.

I am intrigued by the idea of something set in the 60's but not to bring them into the future right away. I'd like to see several films in the '60s using Kirby panels as production design.

But I'm okay with just about anything. It would be almost impossible for anything to be worse than what we've seen.

How about MBJ as Sue, Miles Teller as Doom, Kate Mara as Ben, Jamie Bell as Johnny and Toby Kebbell as Reed? Reed doesn't go on the drunken interdimensional journey this time because he overslept after his genius friend Johnny called him up in the middle of the night out of nowhere. It was late and he needed his beauty sleep, so he missed out, while Ben, Doom, Johnny and... no one else went on the trip. Sue still stayed back at the base because... she's a woman (and MBJ was the best person for the role)! Then Ben gets left behind on Planet XXX and comes back with a bevy of go-go dancers dressed in Dr Doom capes, even though his name is Ben Grimm and he looks like Kate Mara. :o

John Krasinski as Reed Richards

How about someone drops the reality gem and we discover Doom tried to use it to defeat the Fantastic Four and they all got caught up inside it until released in the present MCU.

So they have no idea they were stuck in another reality only they return with Doom discovering Sokovia formerly Latveria was devastated and the FF's building has just been restored much to the surprise of everyone as noone realised it was missing!

I like the idea of Janet being with them after all the Microverse is something Reed's knowledgeable about maybe reveal Janet found them rather than vice versa otherwise some interesting ideas and throw in the Red Skull being returned shortly after Dr Doom learns about Hydra and their involvement in AoU reacting accordingly showing the Agents of SHIELD exactly why he is Doctor Doom and why Hydra messed up the wrong nation!

I wouldn't mind the old cast brought back even if they have to recast Johnny Storm... though the animated version could keep them similar enough for Ben to point that out.

Really want a live action version of the Episode where Black Panther fought the FF as preparation to battle Klaw!

I definitely could see Dylan O'Brien as Johnny Storm. I like that. I also could warm up to John Krasinski, but I'd have to think about that more.

I'd say no to Seth Rogen. To me, Thing could still be a tough guy before he was the Thing (everyone brings up playing Football and all that). I do like that you're picking someone Jewish.

Also, Emily Blunt should be Jessica Drew!

I want someone younger for Johnny Storm, who is the same age or can play the same age as Spider-Man.

There have been a lot of rumours going around about The Inhumans and what fate might befall that movie (or if they're going to turn it into a TV series instead). How would you guys feel about reworking that into a team-up instead? The inhuman royal family is strong enough to carry a story completely isolated from what goes on on earth but if they were to try and connect them a little more from that, their first, movie shouldn't the Fantastic Four be the ones that encounter them?

I want Charlie Rowe. Was almost Spidey, appropriate age, looks like Johnny. Marvel obviously liked him enough, so would be a no-brainer to me.

I really like the idea of The Fantastic Four being from the past, but ended up trapped in the Microverse with Janet. They are Marvel's First Family after all.

I dunno. He looks more like a classic Peter Parker to me. More classic than Tom Holland, so having him alongside Tom would always make me wonder. I'd rather they got someone else entirely. There must be other actors other than that shortlist of 5 for Spidey.

Dylan O'Brien or Logan Lerman for Johnny Storm/Human Torch

Jon Hamm or Patrick Wilson or Andrew Lincoln as Reed Richards

Alice Eve or Rosamund Pike as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman

Dylan O'Brien as Johnny Storm/Human Torch

Joe Manganiello as Ben Grimm/The Thing

Nikolaj Coster Waldau as Victor Von Doom/Dr. Doom

I'm not sure if having the Fantastic Four start out in the 1960s and then get transported into the modern era is worth preserving the "Marvel's First Family" moniker, since Captain America still predates them and has already covered the "person out of time" backstory.

They'd still be Marvel's First Family in the MCU, because what other families are there? Unless you count Clint Barton and his family? But I would assume they mean Marvel's First Super-Powered Family.

Yeah, but the "Marvel's First Family" nickname stems from The Fantastic Four #1 launching the Marvel universe as we know it, so a lot of fans think that means the Fantastic Four in movies should also be the original superheroes. The nickname's not really about the Fantastic Four being specifically a family of superheroes. It's a reference to the family of the United States president (unofficially referred to as the First Family), placing them before all others.

I realise that, but in order for Marvel to still make the name work somehow in the modern age, they might have to reinterpret what it means.

They could always just not use it.

Straight up origin story again, space, cosmic rays, no Dr Doom though, not for the first movie, establish his character for sure in some way, but give me mole man with an army of his messed up underground minions, if it's in the MCU, set it during the same time as Infinity War, explains their absence and also gives them the chance to take the spotlight and take on the Mole Man and his minions while the other MCU characters are busy with Thanos

Based on the latest updates:No origin story. They are on Attilan working with the Inhumans. Boom.

I would rather see FF added to Marvel's schedule than the Inhumans. FF could also be used to introduce them. They have been getting boring anyway with Agents of Shield.

I hope pulling Inhumans from the line up means Marvel have gotten FF back.

Damn I loved MBJ's Torch. Too bad Fox got a hold of the idea first. A younger Jeff Gouldblum would've been the perfect Reed Richards imo. Thing is a bit harder to think of as I don't know many heavily built actors. Susan Storm, eh, I have never been good at fancasting female characters.

Susan Storm-Jordana Brewster
Human Torch-Dylan O'Brien
Ben Grimm-Steve Austin
Reed Richard-Dylan Baker

Victor Von Doom-Ian Somerhalder(Look up an image of both of them side by side and tell me Ian doesn't fit. All he needs is some brown hair dye)

Had two ideas to change the origins. One is in the process of Thanos using the Reality Stone while fighting the Avengers a space station got hit and knocked back to Earth they effects of the stone were permanent on the four astronauts inside the station.

Two is the Inhuman route, Thanos's was using the stone to slowly destroy the Earth. In the process the Inhuman civilization was shook and the Terrigan Mist got out. In the same area at the time was Reed Richards and his three co-works on a project to find a portal Reed believed was at the bottom of the worlds deepest Trench as he's trying to prove the connection between Earth and other dimensions. But as the team surfaces due to the world being shook by Thanos' attacks. The Terrigan mist gets inside the ship and they are effected becoming the F4.

I have nothing against the normal origin, it's great. But I myself would like a new twist or flare added to it. A little pizzazz y'know? Feel free for constructive critisism. I enjoy it.
