comics mostly. my brother and my sister used to collect the cards from 94 and 95. it was great i had such a fun time.

Issue #183 was the one that sucked me in. Two huge guys brawlin' it out.

If anyone was to check out my art thread, they'd find out how much of an influence these guys had on me.

Hard to remember that far back but I believe it was the cartoon...

my friend collected X-Men comics and I said a few then started getting my own.

The old X-men cartoon, i used to watch it every Sunday right before All American Wrestling, oh the memories :D

When you say old X-Men cartoon, are you talking X-Men the Animated Series, or are you talking about the single episode, Pryde of the X-Men? When I was a kid, though I read a lot of different comics, I can honestly say that the X-Men wasn't one of them. I had never heard of the X-Men until I saw the episode of Pryde of the X-Men, on television. I was always stuck with that memory of Nightcrawler teleporting the bomb off the ship. And for the longest time, that was all I could remember about the show...until my brother downloaded it from his art schools server. Man that show had such a horrible script. And Australian Wolverine...oh man. I don't know if that is more insulting to Canadians or Australians.

pryde of the x-men was the only episode :-P wich is wierd cuz.... logically more would have been made... but un-aired... wonder where those are...

By the time I was five I had my fair share of action figures, and I remember having a Wolverine and Magneto figure. Those and the "Pryde of the X-Men" were my introduction to the characters, but it was the 90's cartoon that really got me into the mythology.

I was talking about the animated series. I have seen Pryde of the X-men and if I saw that 1st I don't think I would of became a X-men fan.

Cartoon in the early 90's. Then I started to collect the trading cards and get a comic here and there.

I got the first few issues of Jim Lee's X-Men comic but I didn't become more involved until the cartoon simplified the X-Men universe for me.

i like reading how everyone became an xfan. very interesting stuff

Yeah the old cartoons were great. I loved how they did crossovers all the time. Its like, you want to see that stuff happen, Spiderman with the X-men, the X-men with the Fantastic Four and whatnot, but you know it would never work in the movies. So that was always cool. I remember X-men: Evolution, too.

The 90's cartoon did a lot of justice as far as comic book to television adaptions are concerned. In many ways, I feel that the 90's cartoon will forever be the popular media embodiment of the X-Men. Whenever people think of the X-Men, they tend to think of that team and the outfits crafted by Jim Lee. Even in popular video games at the time, long after those costumes were abandoned, you could still see the X-Men sporting the outfits in the games.

Started collecting Marvel cards when I was like 8, then got into the cartoon and comics...haven't turned back since and i'm 20 now :D

i got into the cartoon when i was a kid, but my nephews had some xmen figures, and i had ninja turtle figures, and we'd team them up against make believe villains, so i guess that was about 7 or 8.

then i didn't get back into them til they started showing the reruns on tv when i was in high school, then i started collecting comics when i could find them, and reading fanfics when i couldn't.

i'm 20 now, and still the only girl i know who likes comics.

I became a big fan when I saw X2.

But before that, I already played a few X-Men videogames and I watched the 90s animated series and X-Men Evolultion.

it was a mixture of both comics and the 90s animated series. during that time i was already a Batman fan and was getting into other different comics. i remember really getting into Jim Lee's "X-Men" and the Topps trading cards as well. about a year later the animated series began and that's when i REALLY became a fan.

i remember also getting many of the Toy Biz action figures at the time. those were fun!

Comics and cartoons. Definitely not the films.

The first episode of X-Men:Animated Series.Wolverine refused to follow Cyclops' orders of leaving behind Morph.Rogue touches him and he loses consciousness.Wolverine hates Cyclops for leaving behind a member of their team. The last scene of that episode saw Wolverine destroying the Sentinels yelling THIS ONE IS FOR YOU MORPH.The episode ends with Wolverine on a cliff with his claws.I have been hooked on to X-Men and especially Wolverine ever since
