I'm still not terribly impressed by anything I've seen from The Wolverine, but it would be nice to be surprised.

Hugh has another movie out on Sept. 20 which is gathering some good buzz and may be at the Toronto Film Festival. New trailer just hit:

I finally saw a commercial on TV for The Wolverine. Well, it was a commercial for Red Robin promoting The Wolverine :awesome: and there wasn't even footage. The only Wolverine related thing was a pic of the Gift Card with his claws

Alright Fox, time to get off your butts!

I saw a Wolverine commercial when I was watching Family Guy on CN :D

I saw a commercial on SyFy and there are posters in Penn Station in NYC. I'm expecting more to pop up soon. Meanwhile, Hugh is in August Men's Health magazine:

Hugh Jackman: Wolverine unleashed my ‘explosive’ rage

Hugh Jackman says filming The Wolverine has allowed him to unleash his explosive inner beast in a controlled way after revealing he’s been keeping the lid on personal anger issues.

‘When I was younger I was very explosive. I used to let most of it out playing rugby. I’m not as explosive now but in a sense it’s still there,’ confessed the Aussie hunk.

‘It’s in our DNA. Aggression is a primal thing and it needs to be exorcised in some way; far better to have it in a controlled violent environment. So in a way playing Wolverine is good therapy.’

The 44-year-old said he’s gone to great lengths to calm down over the last two decades.

‘I meditate. I’ve been doing it for the last 20 years. I practise different strains of meditation and its really changed my life. It is not a religious thing.’

In a sweat: Hugh Jackman says he’s a meat fiend. Pic: Patrik Giardino/ Men’s Health

Meanwhile, the beefcake says he now plans to become a vegan after consuming ridiculous piles of red meat to get ripped for the new superhero flick, which hits our cinema screens next month.

‘I eat one steak a day minimum. Now I don’t know any doctors recommending a 12oz steak every day. I’m pretty sure that’s not good. And my carbon footprint is disgusting,’ Jackman told Men’s Health magazine.

‘Still, I think after this film I need to be vegan for a while, just as my way of giving back to the animals.’

Jackman, who showed off his ribbed body in Les Miserables, says he pushed his body to the limit to perfect his clawed X-Men fighter.

He said: ‘The bottom line is you’ve got to train until you want to throw up and you have to eat until you want to throw up. And that’s pretty much it.’

Hugh Jackman trying to look like Wolverine, lol.

Second pic is sexy, tho

To be in Penn Station right now :( Oh how I miss NYC

Narrows, do you mind taking pics of the posters at Penn Station? :yay:

Wolverine posters are actually in just about every subway station at this point. They're also on cabs and bus shelters. All that's left in NYC is the hope of a Times Sq billboard.

Started noticing them last weekend. Now I see them everywhere.

My theater has the poster in about 7 different spots right now.

I just got a t-shirt of the Wolverine ink poster. :woot:

None of that is happening in Vancouver :(
Well maybe the posters in theatres but that's to be expected.

Yeah! Wolverine posters on bus stations and billboards on the highways!

The quite excellent behind-the-scenes feature that appeared yesterday:

Yeah, that all looks yummy...

I'm trying not to watch anything, does that featurette have any new footage in it?

Hugh looks great, but why is he so concerned with being so ripped?
He wasn't that ripped in X1, and he still looked great.
It's almost like he's setting the bar so high, he himself may fail to reach it.

He was cast when X1 had already started filming, so he didn't have time. Singer mentioned on the commentary track for X1 that they shot the cage match scene towards the end of filming, just to give Hugh more time to bulk up for it. He started doing the crazy workouts for X2, and he's 13 years older now...so it's just a lot more work.

I'm sure he's got plenty of trainers and whoever else around to make sure he doesn't push it.

I realise that. I think the point I was trying to make is that Hugh doesn`t need to be jacked to play the role, that`s all.

That's probably not a bad thing, you might end up loving it with the low expectations.
