Hulk at the Comin-Con

What the hell is up with all this Bruce Jones name dropping bullcrap? Any Hulk fan will be quick to ask why keep bringing up a recent run that was (a) hated by most long term fans, (b) severely lacking of the title character, and (c) lacking of a cohesive plot and came off as pretty much made up on the fly.

C'mon, over 40 years of comics and this is what they give the writers and actors to look at?

Norton re-wrote the script? that does seem odd...
well, in half of those 40 years, he fought aliens, mole men, other superhero's and countless other stuff they cant use for TIH. I think, this is like the TV show thing, they are just trying to pick the good bits from Jones's run.

They love dancing around the origin question don't they? No i don't want this to be an origin story. All ppl are asking is if this movie will acknowledge Ang's origin. The article mentions that the origin will revealled, possibly in pieces(via flashbacks) throughout the movie- which is perfect imo.
you got your wish mate, new origin.

What a great panel. I haven't looked above to see what's there but the big news to me was:

1) Ed Norton rewrote the screenplay.
2) They showed The Hulk concept art. Pure awesomeness.
3) There will be a small cameo or hints of other characters in the Marvel Universe just to show the Universe is tied together. They way Ed Norton sounded...it looks to be Captain America. He used that as an example but they way he led into that makes me believe this.
4) They were shooting for 2 weeks and were flying back right after panel. I tried to wave Louis down and I think he saw me but was walking with a crutch or something behind the stage and had to keep going.

With that in mind, the origin will probably spool out over the course of the story rather than be at the beginning. It won't be completely based on the TV series, though, but spun together from all different versions of the Hulk.

:wow: :wow: :wow:

there's no video of the panel discussion? i know they usually record these things.

Norton re-wrote the screenplay? Wow. I knew that Norton had a history of getting creatively involved with the movies he's in, but... wow.

But that raises my confidence level a lot. If there was one thing about this movie that I was less than confident about, it was the screenplay, seeing that Zak Penn... well, the only award he's been nominated for was a Razzie for Worst Original Screenplay.

Norton getting involved makes me feel a lot better about that.

Was it me or did Norton seem a lil intimidated by the crowd?

Maybe after witness yesterday how hardcore Batman fans are, he was scared that Christopher Nolan might have attempted to get rid of the competition by having a viral site put up telling people to "off the green guy."

Well, not that I've read the script and hated it, but judging from X3, I always was worried that TIH's script would be... simpler than it should. Now than Norton said he had worked on the script, I must say I feel a lot better about the film.
Add to this that he is actually a fan and seemed genuinely excited, I must say: I admire the film AND Norton a lot more now. Really appreciated it that a star like him appeared at the CC.

Sweeeeet! I'd love to see those consept art pictures... :p

That would be most awesome :hulk:

Again, it´s Norton that´s getting me excited about this. I´ts not all actors who´re passionate enough - and skilled enough - to actually work on the screenplay, and the fact that he grew up on the character helps to boost my confidence.

Agreed. I love it when an actor rolls up his sleeves and "grabs the bull by the balls" (so to speak :word: )...

And he actually read the comics! :word:

 :yay:  :yay:

Exactly. This movie has just been bumped up to my most craved movie of 2008, even moreso that TDK and Indy 4.

He is probabley a bit nervous. A lot of these actors are quite shy in real life.

Thank god norton added what I would think is some depth to the script.

... maybe your Gamma Bomb wish might come true too

thats exactly how i feel.

i must admit that i am schocked to read that norton is involved so much with the story. i first thought that he is in the movie only to get people in the theater. but it really looks like that e wants to play thsi character and that he cares.

the problem is still: it doesnt matter how good an he is. if the director is bad then the actor will be also bad. thats my opinion.

the director will never get the best performance from norton. maybe norton will help him but in nooo way will norton do hes best . and only becuse of the director IMO.

prepare to be shocked some more, found this on IH.com

Found this on a couple other sites

"The dirt paraphrased from Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige goes like this: Zack Penn wrote a few drafts that were great starting material, and that when Ed Norton came on board he started suggesting ideas as a fan of the character. Eventually, Feige asked if he wanted to just write the script, which Norton did. So in addition to being Bruce Banner and performing whatever mocap or percap will be used to make the Hulk, his name will be riding high as screenwriter
.

lol...its still a rumor but its a good rumor.

man, this movie should be pure greatness, at least it's seeming like it will be.

disagree, Jet Li gave one of his best performances in Unleashed and Hoskins was an awesome villain. Roth, as we've already seen from Planet of the apes, can be amazing if given the chance and Norton is Norton. He will be fine and one of his best performances was for American History X and that wasnt because of the director, it was because he was involved some much in the movie. Its the same story here.

THIS IS AMAZING

EDWARD NORTON WORKED ON THE SCREENPLAY..
WHICH UNTIL NOW WAS THE WEAKEST POINT IN THE FILM
:word:

SO EXCITED FOR THIS

well, he wrote the screenplay, wrote a revised version of the script too, thats enough for me. I think he'll be fine as Bruce.
